Rannis dark moon should be higher given it also applies a giant chunk of frost buildup double dipping into a debuff from the spell itself and the extra damage from a frosted enemies
My thoughts exactly, literally a better version of renallas full moon with a lower int requirement since the main purpose as he mentioned is to debuff.
Everyone has been sleeping on Ancient Death Rancor far too much. I used that single spell to beat just about every single enemy & boss in the DLC. You just cast it whenever you have an opening and then dodge the enemy until they die. It homes in on the enemy & the AI seems to not quite work with just how long this spell lasts in the air on the way to the target. It also gets a damage boost with the Prince of Death staff, which has the highest scaling potential of any staff when you get to 80 Int & 80 Faith. You really have to try it, it just melts bosses.
No one can afford the stat spread for it. Even just to cast it, much less to use the death staff. I’ve been trying to make it work since launch. Sure you have plenty of fp to win a fight, but that’s not saying much, and in pvp it’s useless unless you’re using all the homing spells and the omen charm. And at that point just feed yourself to rykard because that’s his gimic
Adulas moonblade should be here in S. Great frost buildup, not too slow to cast, fires a midrange projectile slash and has stance damage. I use it after a rannis dark moon all the time.
No one is talking about GRAVITATIONAL MISSILE but It's super good, if you cast it at your feet or against a wall it trigger the explosion without the pull part. The aoe is great, fast , it hit like a truck. In addition it makes humanoids fly so you can stunlock some bosses.
One additional tip for the rock sling. The enemy AI confuses the long casting time so they dodge well before the rocks are sent off. I’ve almost never seen an enemy dodge a rock sling intentionally. Perfect for enemy’s that dodge a lot.
I still relied heavily on Stars of Ruin and Adula’s Moonblade for my astrologer in the DLC. Found Stars of Ruin to still have better stagger damage, tracking and ranger than the new nails spells.
What's everyone's PvE loadout look like? Mine is: - Carian Phalanx - Glinstone Pebble - Shard Spiral - Night Comet - Rock Sling - Loretta's Greatbow - Adula's Moonblade - Stars of Ruin / Ranni's Dark Moon / Zamor Ice Storm - Terra Magica / Golden Vow - Blessing's Boon + Blue Dew Talisman = free 720HP, no flask usage while wandering around I've only found 3 of the new spells in the DLC but the only one I'm looking forward to is Blades of Stone. Glinstone Pebble is still putting in work being great dmg/fp and both Night Comet and Shard Spiral deal with everything in the DLC from humanoids to big bodies. Loretta's Greatbow is for sniping and Rock Sling for chucking rocks at crowds or just being a fairly wide spell with good area coverage. If you're exploring castles or dungeons just put Carian Phalanx up and never get ambushed again. Moonblade goes thru walls and is my close quarters spell. Stars of Ruin requires only 1 slot and can be a boss killer. What's used in this and the other 2 slots depends on if I'm stuck on a boss. Blessing's Boon is on my rotation because of the Blue Dew Talisman as it's basically a free flask for 90 seconds of your time (costs 30FP but you get 45FP in the time it takes to heal). Golden Vow is good for horseback combat while Terra Magica is good for grounded combat, can always use them both if you wanted. I don't do PvP so don't have a loadout for that.
My usual build is : Ancient death rancor (after you intelligence get around 70+ it is a beastly spell ), Loretta Greatbow, Adula moonblade, ranni dark moon, carian slicer, night comet , optionally rock sling (it takes too long to cast). Recently I also started using ice spells mentioned in this video, with cold infused weapon, to get quick frostbite.
I use intelligence too, the DLC is super disappointing with pure int builds. The best spell is a faith spell, a couple spells are nice, the vanish spell, glinstone nails, fleeting microgasm, renallas twin moons, only 4 good pure int spells, 0 pure int weapons that scale with int. Which sucks guess l’ll stick with moonlight great-sword, and moonville katana till hopefully a third expansion.
I realy like the new Finger Sorceries, especialy the Glinstone Nails. Good dmg, can be charged, can be buffed with couple of items and has good poise damage.
Adula's Moonblade every time for me even though it's been nerfed somewhat - not as quick as Carian Slicer but hits hard + frost build up. Shard Spiral also super useful - made the Furnace Golems trivial too.
iv found gravity missile to be very usefull as a decently strong cc spell, may not be the best for bosses but for clearing out area's and hard to hit enemies it is a fun choice
I noticed this during your footage, but Magma Shot is spreading magma on a hit! If I remember properly, Magma Shot used to no spread magma if it collided with its target, meaning you can only get the magma if you intentionally spiked it into the ground. That makes it way more viable!
Ranni's dark moon dmg is not great? well you are not geared for it so ofc it doesnt do dmg, you can cast it 2 times before any boss does anything and thats 1/3 of its life gone. There is even a streamer who trivialized the dlc with this spell as did i. Dark moon and ancient rancor, and the Dancing lion, Rellana and Bayle died 1st try all the while i read comments about how hard they are.
No Ancient death rancor? Come on! It should be at least A , as with high level it just destroys ar paralyze enemies. Also, meteorite of Astel have to be at least B tear. It is really nice option for big enemies. And, well Loretta Greatbow can easily be c rank, as it is perfect sniper spell with enough power and extremely long reach
Why are your thumbnails always misleading? The placement in the actual list is different and sometimes it even has something thats not even on the list? Is it just for click bait? I enjoy your videos, but things like that are kinda annoying
Interesting list. I’ve tried the thorn spell (after nerf) and it’s terrible, like all thorn spells. I tried using it on trash mobs and it literally did NO damage, because of a 0.5% incline. 😂 Just garbage and yes I’ve tried it on various bosses: no dice. It’s mid tier even if I’m buffing with full Albrecht’s armor and offhand Staff of the Guilty, casting with maxed Maternal staff. Overrated. Nerfed into oblivion. I’d rate it D tier at best because if there is ANY slight incline, the tracking is wrecked. I can’t afford that in a boss fight. Some of my favorites I’ve been using in the DLC: - Great Oracular Bubble (stance damage, splash damage, chargeable so biddable by Godfrey’s Icon) - Loretta’s Mastery - Adula’s Moonblade, easy S tier - Nightmaiden’s Mist (helped me delete the Mother of Fingers along with rot breath, Serpent’s Bow for deadly poison…add NMM and watch the HP drop) - Ancient Death Rancor - Explosive Ghostflame (goated) Oh, and a niche one: - Rockblaster (amazing stagger damage, stun lock effect, then explosion; deletes the Black Knights! Even the mounted ones cannot stand the “dentist drill”)
Really surprised to see glintstone nails lower than some of the others on this list, its fairly spammable and gets up to 24 stance damage in a category with few existing sources of stance damage, figured it'd be equal with rock sling. Tier lists are subjective though so i get it
Does anyone know what the best stave to use is as a sorcerer? I'm doing a fresh magic build. Currently main handing carian regal scepter and I switch between meteor and staff of loss in my offhand depending on the type of magic I'm using. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
- Any list without Adula's Moonblade is not an accurate list, it is hands down the best spell in the game with high damage and versatility, it can do pretty much everything. - Icecrag is a rather pointless, rarely good, awful spammable spell, just use Adula's Moonblade or Dark Moon instead. - Ranni's Dark Moon being that low is also just wrong, its one of the best spells for boss fights in the game. - Carian Slicer and Piecer are good, but there aren't many instances where they are better than Adula's Moonblade. They nerved Adulas thoug. Back then it was super strong. Now it's just okay tbh. The New Bird Spell is much better for Frost after a Ranni Darkmoon. Comet Azur is very specific to Bosses i guess. Depends. Idk how such a boring Spell even ever existed it makes no sense. Rest i agree. Honestly i wanna make a Death Build i been thinking how to make it broken or what to use with Int and Faith. It's such a shame that the only weapons scaling on that have abilities that only scale with one or the other. Thanks Miyazaki. Not. I guess there are more Weapons now with Innate Faith that we can put to Int but im not sure what i can make of it in any capacity.
@@chaosinfernoid9008 Doesn't really matter though, Adula's is still nuts, I hadn't even noticed the nerf. @@smittyDXPS3 Pretty sure Adulas locks you in animation and for that high cost of 22 fp doesnt seem worth at all tbh when you can just use Glintstone Icecrag that you can spam even though its range is lower i believe. For some reason its not boosted by Prince Death Staff, even though its a Death Sorcery fitting the Theme really well. Ranni can also Dodge Stuff i read such as Magic. i really wanna make it even better.
There's no situation Ancient Death Rancor is better than Night Comet, specially because it's slow and multi projectiles are horrible in early game. Zamor Icestorm is the best AoE spell in the entire game, there's no window between casts for the enemy to attack, even when you only cast fully charged, while Explosive GF will lock you in an animation that leaves you vulnerable, knock back enemies and If they don't Step on the Ghostflame they'll not get frostbitten on the first cast, but Zamor's will. Also, the time you spend using one Adula'sMB you can use 2 slicers with 20% fp consumption of one Adula's, so slicer is far superior.
