Same here. My phone rang one morning, and as my mind told me to pick it up, that is when I realized I was paralyzed. I was terrified. My hands were clenched and couldn't open them.... could not move arms and legs. It was like having a muscle cramp in my whole body! I was admitted to hospital and put in the ICU for several days, then an extra 8 days on a regular floor. They said my potassium was so low it was almost undetectable and I would likely have died that day if I had not gone to the ER. In my case it was brought on after a 7 hour surgery where much of my intestine was removed. So any nutrients I consumed were not absorbed by my body. As you know, it is VERY scary. 3 weeks later and I am still having problems with my legs (walking) but I'm improving. Magnesium was also very low....and this made all electolytes off kilter. I’m going to the ER today or tomorrow. I had a GI appointment on April 8th. I have Crohn’s disease that has been out of control for over a year, I’m losing weight every other day. Everything I eat comes out in diarrhea, my intestines are completely unable to absorb any nutrients from foods and I believe drinks as well. My doctor called me and told me to take 2 potassium tablets and just drink a lot of OJ. It’s NOT helping. He said my potassium level was 2. Something. Down from 3 30 days ago, it just keeps dropping obv from the Crohn’s. My arms, hands, and lower legs and feet always are numb and tingling. My hands are cramped up and every morning I wake up my eyes are twitching like crazy and this morning my mouth is contorted into a bizarre shape, my face looks very very strange. I’m so scared. I already have a mild qt interval and a suspected heart murmur, everyone’s saying when they’re as low as me they have trouble breathing, palpitations, and some ppl have had heart attacks. I don’t know why I’m not having the trouble breathing and heart stuff yet, but I know that’s next. So that’s why I’m going to the hospital today or tomorrow. It’s unreal my doctor sent me home and not right to the hospital. I clearly have Hypokalemia and very bad! I didn’t know they had potassium iv treatments and other emergency solutions for this, oh no, just go home and drink OJ that your intestines can’t absorb any of the potassium from anyway. I wish I could sue.
your doctor wasn’t too smart - your potassium was very low. i realize that your post was made years ago, but i do hope that you very quickly found a competent new doctor and are doing much better. for those of us with gi diseases, it can be tough to get enough potassium and other nutrients, but if you find a new doctor who’s not a dummy, she’ll find a way to up your potassium. good luck to you.
Is there any specific blood test for potassium levels, as most of potassium as you said is inside cells. How we can get accurate results of blood test? Thank you 🙏🏼
Yes you can when you go to the doctor or the ER let them know that you feel like you're probably low on potassiumwhen they draw your blood it's something they normally check for him but if you voice a concern they'll make sure to look for it harder... I went yesterday for asthma problems and found out that I had a 1.9 levelthought I was having an asthma attack when in actuality I had no potassium or iron in me they gave me potassium while I was there it made me feel extremely better and then a strict diet of things that I can follow and eat much like the stalker's other video but go to the doctors and we can get a test on how your potassium levels are when they draw your blood
Look into a RBC potassium test. Many doctors do not test for a red blood cell potassium. They only do serum potassium because they are either ignorant and/or cheap.
What affects your body function is the level of potassium circulating in your blood-- not the level inside your cells. That is why potassium levels are checked via a blood draw. This is the standard BMP or CMP that is normally used to test potassium. Why do you think you may need a special, rare test of some sort to test the potassium inside your cells?

Can you help me solve a years long problem. My mother has severe crams in legs that wake her up at night. She tested her magnesium levels and they are more than the norm. When she tries to add potassium, they seem to actually get worse. Every time she eats bananas or potatoes (chips) her crams are worse that night. I love naturopathy and i did so many research. So far, nothing is working. Do you have any thoughts? If her magnesium levels are good, and bananas ate causing more cramps ? I really don’t understand...thank you 🙏🏻 Edit: she is good health, except she takes high blood pressure meds
This might be a solution. I was taking amlodipine Besylate 10 mg and I was cramping so horribly I didn’t want to exist anymore. Maybe her doctor can switch her to a different prescription if she is taking amlodipine besylate. What helped me with the cramps but I don’t know if it will help her, is I took keto chow daily minerals that were approved by Dr. Berry on UA-cam it’s a liquid mineral from the Utah Salt Lake that’s purified. But if minerals are causing the problem maybe that won’t help you but I think you should look into her medication. Sometimes all the side effects are not listed on these blood pressure medicines and you have to search really deep to find the rare reactions.

Does low potassium cause headaches?
Ff doctor
I had severe muscle weakness after I took iodine which gave me diarhea for 8 weeks.
Why pt with hpokalemia have high blood pressure and at same time have hyponatremia ???
Dr. Andres can hypokalaemia patient lose weight, diet and exercise is it safe????
Do you feel better now? Did your levels get up?
Are you okay?
your doctor wasn’t too smart - your potassium was very low. i realize that your post was made years ago, but i do hope that you very quickly found a competent new doctor and are doing much better. for those of us with gi diseases, it can be tough to get enough potassium and other nutrients, but if you find a new doctor who’s not a dummy, she’ll find a way to up your potassium. good luck to you.
You’re great!
Excellent video! Thanks!

Kayla Parsons thank you so much for advice. And get better soon
What is the relation between hypukalemia/hyperkalemia and uric acid ?
hyper too much.
hypo too little
Mine went down to 1.5 after taking steriod shot in the knee. Almost didn't make it. It happened 3 times after getting steriod shots. The first time it was 2.8, the 2nd it was 2.4. The last one almost got me. I wont let them give me steroids' any more.

Does anyone have sodium/salt sensitivity? When i eat salt i get numb on the left side of my body, My gut is also effected, i have gastritis , most foods brings on my symptoms and i can only eat a small amount of food right now. I also have muscle twitching and weakness which started in my calfs now graduating to my arms, there's also days i can't walk or i need 2 pairs of compression socks to be slightly mobile. I really don’t understand...thank you 🙏🏻
Edit: she is good health, except she takes high blood pressure meds
Look up Andrew Wommack's healing testimonies
Looks like a hyperkalemia
