I'm a new medical officer and i just saw your video of cardiac arrest as I was going through UA-cam videos. I must mention that your video is amazing and so informative. Especially for new doctors like me who are serving at the periphery (rural areas) in India. I'm starting to follow your videos for emergency managements. Very very systematic approach of teaching and easy to understand. I'm learning from today 😁 Thank you so much. Also please post common vital signs in emergencies and basic management at a PHC 🙏

Should excessive fluid intake be included as a cause of hypokalemia? I've seen it occur with too much water intake and not enough potassium in relation, similar mechanism to hyponatremia.
Dr. Good info from you, i am from Mumbai. My potassium level was dropped down on 25 April 22, (2.2 )level and had to call my family Dr at home as i was unable to move my hands and feet. Was admitted to hospital and the potassium level was brought back giving thru central line. Later in CT it was detected that my both kidney ureter stones were found and which were of bigger size so had to operate and stant inserted. But the mistry that why the potassium level dropped was unknown as all test including kidney was done. Now today again i tested my potassium level which is at 3.3 levels still down from normal range. In 2022 i had Covid 19 and was severe and was hospitalized for 15 days. I found on net that due to covid such complications are caused .
Ruqaiya Hussain thank you for all your kind comments for me. I read them all. I don't have one single source that I go through. Mainly I use Oxford handbook of medicine, Harrison, Amboss library, Massachussetts pocketbook of medicine. I will post all the slides very soon on my Facebook page. 😊
If hypokalemia couses constipation because muscle can’t contract enough then how it couse’s tachycardia??? And also in rabdomyolisis there is hyperkalemia due to the cell is burst open and release a lot of potassium so how come rabdomylyysis happen in hypokalemia ? Please someone explain
My father is admitted in hospital due to hypokalemia with 1.5 😢. And doctors give him potassium saline to the peripheral channel, not central. No no. We don’t give it for 1 hour. Pt will die. We give it until K comes to 3 and then switch to oral. If pt can’t take oral, then till 4 or so and stop.
