Thanks for posting. I purchased the same struts and will test it out this weekend. I will use some thread locker just in case. Hopefully the brackets don't bend too much.
Hi signelenis, thanks for watching!! Really appreciate it 🙏. Just an FYI that to date, my struts are working perfectly and no bent brackets . Good luck on the install! Check out my other mods I've done.. the Explorer looks amazing to say the least! PEACE!
This should of been standard on all 2021 Explorers! Who wants to mess with the "Mickey Mouse" rod, especially if your 'short' and have to use a step stool just to get to the dipstick. I don't have any Texaco guys rushing out to check my oil!
Nice vid. Question..my 20 xlt does not have the strut brace and bolts that attach it. Do you know the proper size bolts for that bracket location? Also, doesnt appear to be threaded. Thanks
@@fletchlivesdaily348 Thank you for watching! Good question! I looked up the brace and bolts on the Ford site but doesn't seem to show bolt size. You can call your local ford dealer give them the pn and they can check for you. I'm sure you can tap the towers so you can insert the bolts. @@xraydesigns3880 you mean to install the cross bar? Get the bar then place it on the two shock housings and mark the holes to drill. Tap the holes. Remember when tapping, always drill rhe holes small so the tap can create the threads. Or, if the intent is to mount the hood struts, I do believe there are other type with different mounting style. If I find the videos I'll shoot them out to you!
Hi IOF-dy8om, not sure I clearly understand your question. Did you mean how to insert the nut into the hood then screw in the post onto the nut? You have to remove the two pins securing the sound proof liner. Then, insert the nut on the provided stick and align it to the hole on the hood. Then screw on the post with the washer. It's a bit tricky , you just need to bend and position the stick.
@@ecobooster8298 exactly what I meant :-). Can’t get the post to grab the nut under the hood. It’s been frustrating (add in its 97 degrees lol). Any tips / tricks for aligning and getting that post to grab the nut threads?
@@IOF-dy8om Absolutely! Yes it is tricky. Try aligning the nut to the hole from the square hole insertion hole. But align from the outside. This way you can see exactly how far you need to insert the stick and you can make the necessary bends on the stick. Then insert the stick and you should be able to guide it easily.

I see what you did there.
Absolutely!! Along with a few other things like when you turn off the auto start-stop it should remain off!! But still, the Explorer is pretty cool..
Ford shouldn’t be pinching pennies on a 60K vehicle. There’s a lot of this cost cutting on their vehicles lately.

You'll have to replace those every couple years. Cheap chinese junk will leak out the nitrogen charge eventually. Prop rods always work.

Why does Ford even use these cheap prop rods pieces of junk!!!
