    Hello mate, I have a Charvel GG like yours and I have the same problem. I would like to be able to change the tremolo and put the same one you put on yours. Could you specify the exact characteristics to be able to order it as yours from the Sophia Tremolos guys?
    Great job on the videos and congratulations on the guitar you left behind !
    A greeting.

      @@tonimo thank you! I got a Sophia 2:92 deluxe pro tremolo and added the Global Tuner Pro upgrade. And as you can see I had Gil install for me. I’m not that handy so if you’re in the same boat get a good tech! You can go to sophiatremelos.com. Let me know how it works out for you?!

    well, that's funny. Today i saw your CharvelGovan Videos for the 1st time. I bought that guitar modell 2 years ago and i had almost the same (frustrating) experiences. That guitar was and is killer, i love the speedy neck and the Pickups are very versatile. So last year i found the Sophia Trem in the internet and i had a very nice and informative conversation with the sophia guys asking me how strong the trem should be etc. After a few weeks i got the Sophia Trem 2.92 (same modell as you got, Mundo). Installing was easy, just a micrometer dremel drilling and now the problems are long forgotten.😊 Good luck with all your work horses....i feel with you being a free lanced musician myself.

      How cool is this comment?! Thank you! Forwarded this to Gil and the Sophia guys. Glad it worked out for you and thank you for this response!

    Hi Mundo! I got the USA model two moth ago and doesn't has the same level of "touch the bar and get out of tune" but it's not that consistent!

      @mundojuillerat  12 днів тому

      Bummer I was hoping the USA model was stable and consistent.... but yours does sound like it's better made than mine!

      @@mundojuillerat My luthier and I believe they’ve changed the bridge design to cut costs. We had to sand down the saddles because there were sharp burrs that kept cutting the strings-I was breaking a string at every gig! What’s worse is that the small cylinder piece inside the saddle that locks the string in place isn’t sold separately. If you lose one, you have to replace the entire bridge. On top of that, the guitar came with an unfinished nut. But despite all these issues, the tone it produces is absolutely amazing!

    I remember watching the first two videos. I thought you had given up on the guitar. I'm glad you got the tuning issues fixed.

      Howzit Marcos and nope we never give up right?! I just had to find the time to get to Los Angeles and also save up for the gear and tech work. Using it in the show everynight and took it to a rehearsal this morning- just to beat it up! And it's holding in tune great!
      Mahalo for watching all three videos! Now I need a new video project ha!

    If you are still able to pull sharp on the Sophia then what are the posts on the trem block doing? They don't look like they are touching the body when in the zero position so I don't understand their benefit?
    Also what phone tuner are you using? Is that one that comes with the Spark app?
    Mundo it sucks that you had to put all of that time, effort and money into a very expensive guitar. Expectations of perfection when buying a $3000 guitar should be very close to justified upon delivery IMO.
    Thanks for the effort!! These vid were very informative.

      Hello, the “posts” your asking about are actually spring loaded
      Stabilizers
      We have a variety of lengths and tensions
      The HD (heavy duty) are so stiff you can break a string and still finish your song live
      But more importantly there’s absolutely no arm dive during string pulls!

    Most non-locking trems won't stay in tune. Only a few do. Suhr makes high quality guitars. Can't go wrong with that. Other good non-locking trem guitars are the Yngwie Malmsteen strat, and Music Man Ernie Ball guitars. The Vegatrem seems to be good also. And if you didn't know the Hipshot trem sucks like 90% of the non-locking trems out there.
    I just watched another review video of this guitar and the guy did a live trem abuse tuning test. That guitar stayed in tune. He bought it second hand and had a set of 10's on it. If I I am correct you had put 9's on this guitar? If that is the case then for best results the nut needs to be replaced as well because in the factory the nut has been cut for 10's. In theory many say it wouldn't make a difference but I disagree.

    Ive got a NFT floyd guitar with bone nut and I get it. But all of my guitars I tune, pull up on the bar, and retune until the pull up returns it to tune after a dive. Other thing is though you can use another stabilizer with the floyd or even the sophia block to retrofit the floyd. Cool journey though. Wish the stock bridge was better.

    Thanks for the video! It's a shame that a guitar of this price has this problem. I've been able to get $100 guitars with shitty-trem tune better than this Charvel. Knowing that the nut wasn't the problem, I'm wondering if the springs clamp screws are the problem. It's weird but I've had this happen before. Those screws moved every time I pressed the bar. I had to plug the hole with a dowel and re-drill the hole to fix the problem.

      @mundojuillerat  3 місяці тому +1

      Good point and yes I've had that problem with other guitars. It was easy to isolate and fix. But the screws on this axe were stable... The fix would be to get a Sophia or another trem. But at least we know the Sophia works. Check out MichaelSchroeder's post on this feed. He did the same. Thank you for your comment!

    Dude, you didn't give up on it and now you have a way cooler guitar. That guitar looks awesome. Totally worth it imo!!! Also, I agree on the forearm contour without even having played that model, forearm contours should be pretty well comfy. That trem with that color looks better also.

    Seems to me like you could have bought an Ibanez S Prestige or Premium for half the price and gotten everything you wanted. Ultra light, rock solid tuning, super fast neck, cool looks, better build quality, etc.

    Just throw that guitar away and get something serious. I don’t think I would put my time and money into that guitar. Definitely not worth it for me.

      I totally hear you! Definitely would've been easier to buy another Suhr, but ultimately I'm glad I stuck with it and now have a solid and somewhat custom axe.
