Charvel needs to fully embrace their old style Toothpaste Logo and stick with it. I love the blue sparkle. Reminds me of the MM Luke III that Fluff and Ben Eller both bought, but more shreddy
I’m happy you showed off the Phil Sgrosso Charvel at the end cause I was about to comment that I see it in the back. That thing looks so sick, literally the only “strat” I’ve ever wanted. Can’t wait to see that video!
I got the PA28 as soon as it was announced, and it is a killer double humbucker strat. The LOCKING Wilkinson trem is the best non floyd strat trem you can get. The neck is slim and fantastic. The pickups can do everything.
It should be used for acoustics. Looks wise it's like roasted maple with a lot of busy figuring/striping. To me it looks acoustic not electric. The fact that it doesn't have the heavy grain of rosewood doesn't matter because it's got such a waxy feel with a lot of drag. Maybe it could be okay with extra jumbos where you rarely touch wood but with medium jumbo you feel it all the time.
@@guyincognito320 I actually really like it on my EVH Shark. It looks and feels great with the burgundy & silver. I usually favor ebony on most of my guitars. My 1986 Jackson/Charvel has a nice dark rosewood slab on it. All of my guitars have different tonewoods & pickups, but I'm surprised how little I care. As long as a guitar has a cool vibe and plays well - I'm all for it 😁
Love the pricing on the mij stuff. Also for the Prashant aswani guitar. The biggest surprise with that guitar is that Prashant didn't put his signature EMG revelation set in it. But over all love what charvel is doing. Still holding out for a dk24 hardtail with the roasted maple neck and board.
Love this! I also have a squier Showmaster 7 and Looove that guitar. Slapped the JP bar bridge oickup in it and a buddy had it for a while (got his friend to paint the body white 😭) but put a JP neck pup in and over all this thing RIPS. Gotta try these new Charvels though!!
I've owned 2 different Showmasters, one of which was a 7, and the other of which was formerly painted as the Skull&Bones look. Both were fairly heavily customized when I got them, and all of the customization was gloriously, shamelessly tasteless. Reasonable quality on that series, but owners seem to love using them as mod platforms. They both played great, but I always feel like I have to give excuses for how they look, since they're shaped like such a classic model, but the owners (myself included) have just gone hog-wild on saying "Yes" to every aesthetic modification idea that popped into their heads.
@@rybones1311 Its not even about how much gain they are or are not using, its the dull "we put 20 thick blankets over the speakers" tones they are getting
Would really love to see simple single or double H (passive) strats and teles with fixed bridges in the 750-1000 range, no one is really making simple versions of these at the quality/price range
The Charvel necks are a big selling point, they feel fantastic, and those new Japanese ones look amazing. I'd love to get more Charvel's, as I love mine. I've only charged a couple of things on the guitar, I don't like the knobs, as I use them a lot, and I like to know where I am. And the trem, the 1000 series is made of dog pooh, so I've had a Schaller lockmiester fitted, is much better. About from that, the guitars great!
What I like about the Charvel is the San Dimas guitars they have become like a Strat or Tele never out of style. Zero redundancy. They are like Levis 501 jeans and Converse all Stars shoes. You never look foolish wearing them no matter what the latest style is. With everything else it is planned obsolescence, especially guitars. In stores the should all have a warning tag hanging from them. This guitar is subject to iPhone-itus, buy carefully, lol
Fun fact: about 4 years ago I leaked a guitar made for slash to Troglys it was the Bolivian dream because I happen to know the guy who runs the company that sells to Gibson custom shop all the south American woods (Ronay Tonewoods) and back then I told Austin that Bolivian Rosewood it is actually a commercial name for pau ferro. So, Hunter, if you don't see the name Pau Ferro Bering used that often anymore it is because the industry started to call the it Bolivian Rosewood. But it is the same thing.
Bought a SoCal Style 1 Hardtail in Pharaohs Gold like 3 months ago and it is crazy good, totally recommend. I’d take the Charvel over my Fender 60th anniversary Strat and my LTD MH1000 9 out of 10 times.

I seen the 2 green glow guitars and was like hell they are the same, but then i was like i bet charvel has coil splits. And yep there ya go charvel Dimarzio with splits and Jackson with Duncans.

Ummm Hello? Jackson and Charvel are not infringing on each other guitars. They are simply buying a model from a Chinese manufacturer and putting their own headstock on it. Dean And Luna use the same manufacturer for their "St Augustine" and "Art Vintage" guitars respectively. They Might be decent guitars, I really don't know, but its common for Big Brands to purchase inexpensive guitars in mass, and put their name on them. Either model will be about the same just with a different name on it.
I've almost bought Charvel's old light blue Dinky about 1,000 times, and I keep deciding not to because of the nickel frets and trem/nut combo. Stainless steel frets and either fixed bridge or locking nut would have that thing in my hands as quickly as Sweetwater or GC can ship it to me. Really don't know why they're doing nickel frets. It's like Ibanez insisting on keeping non-locking tuners on their high-end guitars. Why do?
Only thing I don't love on the Ashanti signature is the rosewood. I'd prefer ebony or maple. The pups sound excellent, it's a great feeling neck, like the 2 point trem rather than the floyd rose

And yet Charvel has about 6 pro-mod models. Mostly all with solid colours, nothing like artistic burst finishes that you can find with Ibanez, Musicman sterling etc..
Give Ibanez some credit Hunter, that AZ has a proper 4mm top, SS frets, a roasted neck and comes in a hard case - the extra money over the Charvel is completely warranted.
More makers need to make a Strat type with HSS and a non floating trem, and not having the Fender control layout with the Volume being 2mm the the e string..
