I used to own a Z5000 when I was like 13 years old this one that @My Stoner Mind has is the upgrade from the one I owned I believe.
i mean they still got game for their size and price
so was jvc, dissapointed they both fell off
very true, i'm still rocking a Z5500. they still are amazing imo for their age.
Ye I bought the newer version.... Sold it in 2 days was trash not like the older gen even though was same power output crazy

I watched this video with my Z5500s. Still plugged into my computer to this day. Amazing set. Haven't found a reason to change them yet.

had my Z680's for over 10yrs...still going strong....almost no mids but such a great purchase been hard pressed to replace them ever

I had a speaker that had something sat on it for a long time the coil slaps I found that out using it to test a bunch of amplifiers for car audio was retarded still needed more watts to blow it tho
The Z5500 was powerful enough to destroy its OWN subwoofer. Mine was running on boost for a house party back in the day; after a few hours the sub burnt out! Was running great right up until it overheated. Sorted that out and it was fine, but now the control pod has gone and the whole lot's been sat in the garage for years. Trying to figure out how to get it running again (definitely needs recapping at least).

Have the same set of speakers for over 12+ years and they still sound just as good as they did when I got them!

I completely destroyed this magnovox theater subwoofer form the 90s. It was on its stock amp and I ended up destroying it because of how old it was and I don’t think it was meant to play music. It made very loud metal noises and that’s when I knew I had to let it go
These be the experiments I will be doing when I get bored and after the kids move out.
Find out how to bypass the low low frequency protection filter in the on board amp and pod so we can do it too :p
Sounds like my guinea pig who almost choked on a vegetable. Yes, that was loud too. Luckily he is okay.

Still rocking my z5500 from 2008
got my z-5500's in 2004, upgraded from the z-680's, for 400 bucks they dont have deals like that anymore, mine still work like the year I got them, im on to Bowers and wilkins now but still use the 5500's in my bedroom pc

nice video man ! those ovale speakers are the best they sound very beautiful :) , the first speaker was the most diff to destroy :) ! I HAVE A QUESTION > I TRY TO CHANGE MY SPEAKER WITH A 4OHM BUT WHEN I TURN ON LIKE 20/25% VOL, IT STILL GOING BUT HE DOES LIKE A " knock" SOUND and if u turn a little up the vol this "KNOCK" is getting more harder ...why could be or why it he doing these ??? i saw allot of people changing the speaker with a 4OHM and nothing hapened ...ANSWER PLEASEE ????

I'm guessing you weren't matching the ohmz / power ratings for those little car speakers etc. I don't think they were designed to work as subs either. The last one did pretty well because it was designed to work as a sub.
Nah it wasnt a sub it just had 8 ohms unlike the other ones

Hello, how can I contact you? I have a question about how you connect your speakers just like that with 2 leads and get any speaker working, I got some speakers laying around and would love to do that but how?
It's actually very easy. That's just hooking up the + and - wires to an amplifier. I suggest you study electrical/electronics. The basics you should know are AC/DC voltage, wiring sizes, and how the low current signal is turned into powered signal.
@@rotaryskratch18 I do study them, doing level 3 elecrical/electronics course but we never covered anything to do with speakers or amplifiers... I know AC and DC and wire gauges ecc but I don't have an amplifiers and was wondering whats the minimum power an amplifier needs to drive a 400w rms subwoofer, 400w amplifiers are not cheap so was looking at the cheapest option as I don't even know if the subwoofers are actually functioning
kinda miss my old z5500, no they don't sound too brilliant but i always had a soft spot for them for some reason.

They were poorly tuned and the cabinets were cheap but the woofer driver and woofer amp were very powerful indeed.

Hey Stoney, I have the same Logitech system. Boost to 11 I already know, but how did you get it to boost 22? I've never seen that before. I tried to mimic what you did but I can't get it to do that like yours did. Please tell me...

Logitech z906 speakers are like a newer version of the z5500 but 5w less and 2 inches smaller on the sub
I never had good luck with 6x9's blew them quickly.

My voice coil ripped itself from the glue and fkd the woofer. Tried to wind a coil, I've tried 3 times, but its not easy

Still use my z5500 daily. Need a new console tho. My display is busted. :( to a point i like it more then my onkyo receiver and 5.1 speaker setup thats 5 times the price.
I love my onkyo receiver it's the $200 one paired with a "8 polk audio powerd sub and a klipsch center speaker honestly I need new bookshelve speakers mine don't do the highs I want to hear
