      I have two sets of Z5500's. One from 09 and other from 2010. Exactly, have no need for that type of radical maintenance since I regularly clean them. Just had to replace backlight bulb after nearly 11 years. Great sound and nothing compares!

    Been using Z5500's since early 2005 and so far Ive only had to replace the main fuse a few years ago (easy fix) but lately the volume level is erratic when using the knob, the knob itself still turns smoothly with the usual "clicks" being felt but sometimes the volume level will jump way up with just a small turn, hoping it just needs to be cleaned internally.

    Fortunately I found your video, and I will repair my setup.
    Two questions: where do you bought the rubber membrane to replace the old popped? And what are the inches of new membrane?
    I found some sellers in aliexpress, but I don’t know the right measure…

      Totally agree... Mine are from like 2005 or 2006 and are in way better condition than this, only my rear speakers the rubber is a bit cut but nothing like that, the front ones the rubber doesnt have a single cut either and its not anywhere close to that dirt...
      And I have even played on parties all night at max volume and they are still working awesome...
      Anyway I already bought the 3 inch rubber replacement for the rear speaker, but I glued the original one and still havent really put the new rubber in which doesnt also have the quality of the original, when the original rubber gets completely screwed then I will change the rubber for the new one, but still don't know what glue should I use. I used contact flexible glue to repair the cuts and seem to be working kinda good even though not perfect...

    Crazy I have these inn excellent shape too but they have a slight hiss or buzz on I forget what setting. Kinda of annoying. I just bought the katana bu sound blaster because I wanted something small and compact, but I don’t know if I’m gonna miss them for tryin gate katana. If I was to find out why the buzz is and fix it I would maybe return the sound bar, but it just looks so modern and doesn’t sound too bad either. Decisions...

    • @technoboy-allinOne
      @technoboy-allinOne  3 роки тому

      Remove all the inputs & check the buzz noise. Change the inputs from the remote & check it. Its a minor problem, that may happen for few reasons. Mainly the inputs, faulty wires, then grounding the amp is one of the reason too. And bad capacitors can be the cause too. Only a technician can tell you the exact reason.

      Only someone that can read a spec sheet and learn the simplicity of using a multimeter. My first repair was a 50 watt Vacuum tube amplifier.... way more dangerous to get zapped from. But remember products like these are assembled by folks that know nothing about electronics, therefore it really doesn't take much effort to find a damaged component and replace it with the same specification of a new component. Just be sure any big capacitors are discharged before touching any circuits!

      @guily6669 5 років тому +2

      Totally agree, 10W shitty speakers lol... If you search well you will find what looks the actual brand that made logitech speakers, theres ones out there that are exactly 100% the same, however I think logitech overrated the speakers, because the brand which everyone says who made the speakers for logitech the exact one that looks the same I think its rated to like 25W rms and not 60+ like logitech says (however doesnt mean they are 100% the same).
      The ones logitech use get pretty god damn loud and I have no doubts it puts out quite a lot of power since I used some KEF 2 way big speakers I have in the living room and they can't even handle the logitech at a lot of volume, a red light comes up and the speakers shutdown (they are 8ohms), but then again the speakers aren't good either, last time I had them in the hifi amplifier they would also shutdown and turn the red light on.
      But 60+ W rms I call bullshit, I don't think there's even any cheap 3 inch driver with 60+ W rms out there, at least I still havent found one with that much power...
      I can't remember if they are something like this:

    Out of curiosity i connected a 4 ohms 20Wspeaker to one of the satelites outputs and it burned it after 5 minutes playing at full volume and you put a 10W speaker if your customer knows the boost +22 secret mode its over for those satelites

    • @technoboy-allinOne
      @technoboy-allinOne  2 роки тому +1

      Wattage in this kind a small speakers doesnt matter much. Cause mostly they are same in wattage just marked with different number on it. Only logitech stock speakers can handle upto 100watt or more. Here impedance matter a lot. I used 8ohms of speakers & the customer asked for cheaper solution,so. You must use 8oms speakers or it may damage the amplifier too at high volume.

    • @cadegamer2854
      @cadegamer2854 2 роки тому

      It's the wattage that burns speakers

    • @bujfvjg7222
      @bujfvjg7222 Рік тому

      Halfing the Ohms will pull double the amperage, this is what will damage an amplifier only designed for 8Ohm speakers. You can use 2- 4 Ohm speakers in series to make them up to 8 ohms. Hard to believe no one here knows anything about amplifiers 🥴

    • @technoboy-allinOne

      @@TheOnlymPy on mine only the rear speakers have some cuts...
      I bought this ones:
      www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Fits-141C-Audio-Speaker-Rubber-Foam-Repair-Replacement-Kit-3inch/183130112853?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dd4fbe0d9515d4511b4a3710cce86c679%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D183130112853%26itm%3D183130112853%26pg%3D2481888&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A6fdbc947-b78c-11e9-98e0-74dbd1807373%7Cparentrq%3A6228ddbf16c0a4e884215b4fffdc65d3%7Ciid%3A1
      I still haven't refoamed my speakers since they are still playing good, but I removed one of the rear speaker and glued the cuts with contact flexible glue for now, when the rubber goes all away then I will pay someone to glue the new rubber...
      The link I provided, I put that rubber above the speaker driver and the measure seems pretty damn good, I think they will fit 100% well, however the quality will probably be much worse than the original rubber, they seem softer to me, since I still haven't used it I can't say if they will sound the same with that rubber, but at least the ones from the link look like they will be a perfect fit for the Satellite speakers.
      I think you will just have to remove the original rubber, pass a bit of acetone very carefully to remove the old glue (don't pass the acetone on the silver part, I think it removes the aluminum coating), then you re-glue everything and to center well I think you can put a piece of paper in the middle of that hole in the center that has a metal spike to keep it centered, there's tuts on youtube for other speakers, but I don't have a single clue what kind of glue do they use...

      You just need to buy new 3 inch speaker suspension and glue them on your speakers but cut a plastic bottle in to 4 10 cm long rectangular pieces and insert the between that big pin in the middle of the cone to prevent the speaker voice coi rubbing against the magnet you cand take the plastic pieces out only when the glue is dry

      Actually may be your settings and audio inputs. I have mine connected from my pc via Auzentech 7.1 X-Plosion audio card with DAC. That's plugged directly via Toslink (optical jack) into the z5500 unit.
      When you set your settings in Windows make sure you have it set accordingly. 5.1 surround, 7.1 surround etc. Then try to get a good audio software suite. I have X-Ear 3d that came with Dolby Digital standard processing and DTS Direct Theater. Make sure you're setting your processing through Dolby Digital or DTS on the z5500 units settings.
      With my cable box it won't feed the center channel no matter what I mess with in settings. But it off balances higher to the satellite speakers and bass just fine.
      Hope that helps.

    Hi. I am Mexican so excuse my writing and general expression if it fails.
    I have Been using this speakers since a lot of time. I love them so much.
    Right know I am watching this video because after all these years somehow I wanted to watch a review of these beauties... And after made the search in you tube I notice there is only a short amount of videos of this particular speakers. And most of them aren't like
    " fancy reviews" like those of this days... Far more, most of them are from ( as what I can hear) like European guys... Any way. I noticed most of the if not all used the speakers with electronic devices like PS3, DVD players and stuff like that used like 10 years ago. And to be honest the sound is mediocre. It's odd to see how average they work when they are working directly pluged in to those devices.
    To be honest they works like 1000 % better when you connect them in to a pc to a proper sound card.
    That way you don't even need to go for that secret boost volumen twik I watched in the other videos...
    Personally, I can't even go for a 75% volume up because everything in my room vibrates.
    Have you ever tried that setup ???
