The last 2 decades has seen the resurgence of great female fronted bands like Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, Dorothy, and Evanescence. It's definitely worth a listen.
Great picks Jeremy. Ann Wilson is also my No.1. I used to listen to Dreamboat Annie every night at one point when I was younger. Always liked Pat Benatar and Janis Jobplin too. I would also add Inga Rumpf who sang in a couple of notable early 70's German progressive rock/blues rock bands. Similar to Janis Joplin in style. Check out the self titled Atlantis album from 72, their best. Also growing up in the 70s I was a big fan of Suzi Quatro, great rock voice, like a female Noddy Holder!
Excellent top 10 list of hard rock female singers, Jeremy.
