Hello there is also a longer version where the director also speaks and they also show Madonna's stunt double, but it is used to see the result of the scenes
@@manondereeper ua-cam.com/video/5OxI_gKFtlgh/v-deo.htmlello this is part of the still to be edited footage of the MTV special however it is a reduced version because the original one is 50 minutes long
When I was in high school back in the early-00's my most favorite possessions were my "The Work Of Director" series by Palm Picture. Michel Gondry was my top fav, but Chris Cunningham was a close second. I would watch those DVDs literally everyday. Thank you for your breakdown! This brought back so much nostalgia from when the video came out and when I was in high school
There is a Frozen raw footage video of the recording for this video, where there are many scenes where you can see almost everything they did. also lots of technical details. Very interesting.
@@manondereeper Link is not accepted by UA-cam, I did but it's not appearing. But look for: Madonna - Frozen (RAW FOOTAGE Video & Interview). First half is on set and Chris Cunningham interview.
That was a blast from the past. I remember watching this interview back then. I was such a entertainment geek. That dolly/crane combo you mentioned. Would drones replace that sort of shooting these days?
Great question re drones: they can, but not always! Especially if you're shooting in the US, these jobs are all unionized and so you need to hire specific operators; dolly/crane operators or a drone operator. Mostly those choices are made based on budget - or for example, the amount of space available. Cranes are really big so you don't always have the space to build and operate them and in those cases, drones might be a better solution. Conversely, if you're shooting in an environment where it's really cold or regularly has really bad winds, you would opt for a crane instead. But I do think they would use drones when the circumstances are right!
@@manondereeper Thank you. Given the massive upheavals in the entertainment industry between unions and the corporations in the US, I can imagine the policies for production are rapidly changing.
I'd like to suggest that you look at Madonna's 1995 music video for Bedtime Story. They actually invented a lot of computer technology that they use today for that video. And the surrealist imagery is off the scale on this one. It was made a fixture at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and was released to cinemas at its release, too.
Reddit + Chris Cunningham brings up somewhat current rumors that's he's gone around the bend, and is a recluse. Beautiful song, beautiful video, and great commentary.
I watched this interview when it first came out and there was two body doubles on set.
Madonna’s Nothing Really Matters is good too.

To me, this was the best series of videos she made.

There’s an extended version of this BTS where you can see the body double and Madonna talks about how she feels sorry for them 😂

Your comment prompted me to do some digging too. Wow.
Always interested in BTS. 🙂

That was really interesting seeing the old gear that was used! Today’s stuff makes it look absolutely primitive 😂
"She must've been frozen" I see what you did lol.
xD I can't help myself sometimes!
