- Euro NCAP crash and safety test of Chinese SUV.
Lynk & Co 01
The Lynk & Co is a brand that is new to Europe and the 01 takes advantage of its Geely family connection to share its underpinnings with the Volvo XC40. The results are impressive. The hybrid/plug-in hybrid small SUV performs well all-round but its 96 percent score for adult occupant protection, including a maximum score for side impact, stands out. That, and a full set of active safety features, help it secure its five-star rating.
NIO ES8
Another Chinese SUV that is new to Europe is NIO’s ES8. On sale first in Norway, the all-electric 6/7 seater, gives a good account of itself, especially in the area of active safety. With excellent results for its autonomous emergency braking system and a full complement of other crash-avoidance features the NIO gains a 92 percent score for Safety Assist.
Aiways U5
The all-electric Aiways U5, the first car from the Chinese start-up to be launched on the European market and tested by Euro NCAP. The slick-looking, futuristic SUV had problems in the side impact tests, losing all points for the side pole impact, and narrowly missed out on points for the pedestrian and cyclist functionality of its AEB system. This has capped the rating at three stars for the moment. Aiways has responded that they are already working on the weaknesses of the car and are hoping to re-submit the car for further evaluation in order to make the U5 one of the safest mid-size SUVs available in 2021.
MG HS
With an impressive equipment list and good performance in Euro NCAP’s tests, the cars are a match for many European, Japanese or Korean models.

The background music makes people imagine a Star Destroyer collision
Gives me engxiety
Not at all. It makes me imagine a gravitational collapse with a supernova.
Nevertheless I wouldnt trust anything Chinese made especially not with my life. Japanese is a different story
A what?
Um actually, how do you know what other people are thinking?
The LYNK&CO 01 was developed by Swedish engineers in Gothenburg by a company called CEVT (CHINA EUROPE VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY). It shares the same CMA platform which is used in Volvo XC40 as well.
It not only use same platform, but also produced in same produce line
It's just a product line from Geely owned Volvo. A rebranded xc40 from Geely group VAG style.
Volvo as a car brand was sold to Chinese car maker Geely years ago.
the Link is just a dodge adding to led lights...lol....cheap design...
That's why they are safe and reliable.
I think people need to understand that the Chinese car industry is really huge with more individual car brands than other countries. As such, the range of quality is also very diverse, from absolute death traps to high quality vehicles like these that can compete among the more established global marques.
you are speaking facts, some small brain dumbasses out there stereotype chinese products as low quality, I am expecting them to attack me at any moment now
But unfortunately there a lot of small brain dumbasses stereotype out there…. And the made in China label isn’t that easy for one to not make jokes of
The time of dead traps are over
The president himself order the car industry to regulate and improve themself
Al new models that come out have at least Euro NCAP 4 star and the older models need to fade way yill 2030
Conclusion, keep safe distance to other vehicles, don’t drive to fast in relation to all conditions that impacts road safety. Use good tyres, service your car. Don’t drive when you are to tired . Don’t be selfish in the traffic, be a gentleman, use indicators and follow your country’s trafficlaws.
Yeah, but what if some car hits you instead? You need this safety to survive that. Despite all the safety measures, you took on the road; there will always be someone who would be willing to put others' lives at risk.

Search the VW PASSAT crash test China ....
AEB is the next big safety feature that needs to become mandatory for all vehicles ASAP. It would eliminate so many unnecessary crashes and deaths each year. Perimeter warning indicators (front, back and side) would also go a long way towards eliminating unnecessary traffic deaths.
Also, it's nice to see Chinese brands improving so much in the past 5 years or so in these crash tests. They were not looking too good when they first started appearing on the market.

since the emgrand has 4 stars and the octavia has 5 stars, i would say that your experience is not really representative of their safety. there are a ton of factors that can contribute to the result of a real life crash, so it surely doesnt meen that geely is objectively safer than skoda
Over all very impressive. The avoidance systems in place are such a step forward in accident prevention. If all cars had those systems in place imagine the number of people that would be saved from death or injury.

John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

However the kids in the back seat are going to have serious problems due to how their necks were twisted and pulled.
Who pays money for kids?? Noone cares for them!!
there are side-impact airbags...frontal ones for the back seats are not needed plus the impact from an airbag opening may cause serious injury or even death for kids.

1:42 now I know why race car drivers wear HANS devices...we ordinary people if we experience this crash, seatbelt could reduce the damage to our body but mannn look at the head getting thrown so low to the front....our neck is in danger and our spinal cord....
This is meant for Europe where there's very strict rules if you want to sell there, look up for everyone else!
No Xpeng. I really need an Xpeng test.
And no BYD
Try doing a small overlap crash test at 50 mph instead of 50 km/h.
If Chinese car companies want to impressed by people, they need to get respect outside of China, the global market. Some people often claim the Chinese car market is very big but it just because of their domestic market. I have not seen Chinese car brand here or Europe(except for some small cargo van's brand, I don't know). Chinese have very long way to go. For now, they are just OEM factories for global car brands.
The domestic market has insufficient production capacity, how to export overseas.
Some popular cars have to wait 5 months to pick up the car.
Looks safe to me...
AEB is good, but if a driver behind you is not paying attention then you're screwed.
That has always been the case in an emergency stop, human or AEB
I think it need to add horn sound
Looks very safe
