A lot of it could be fixed with good edits, but i personally find the anecdotes charming, personal, and relatable. But it does mean that it turns off people to the music. Which is a shame but reasonable outcome. For what it's worth they have accumulated an amazing following and I'm sure will be remembered as fondly or even more fondly than the bands that inspired them.

I love The Wombats like none other and this to me is a love letter to our younger selves. There is a nostalgia to just how different we thought when we were younger, they crazy ways we would react to life, love and depression. To me this is a lot of that struggle to maintain an identity, figure out love, and struggle to find something to keep me going for the day. I think it was something harder for a younger me to cope with, but I feel that pride and love for him knowing what he felt then and where he will go.
