Honestly as much as I love this song this lyric always hurts me for that exact reason. I showed my ex girlfriend this song because of that lyric and her beautiful eyes and now I get sad every time I hear it

i went through some unpleasant things when i was in high school and listening to this song sometimes made me feel okay. four years later i met a guy who’s older when i did a semester in liverpool and he’s a big fan of this band while i’ve been only a casual listener. he complimented me a few times about how smart i am. (i’m just good at deceiving people into thinking so) now whenever i listen to this i can’t stop associating “i like the way your brain works” with him- cause he’s an assistant professor with a doctorate degree- i always love the way his brain works and the fact that he’s so nerdy looking was the first thing that made me fall for him. i think he’s marrying his girlfriend this year
My ex from crawley England introduced me to this band.. so trust me. I know how you feel to an extent. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this! And I hope it gets better for you

Just discovered this song and Im in love
I literally _screamed_ when I saw this in my feed. I agree that it should've had more Tord and Dan but I still really like it. I think it tries to show how the main character is afraid of all the things that can wrong in a relationship and how he keeps overthinking everything between him and the girl to the point he loses touch with the reality of their relationship, trapped among bad memories and even worse possibilities. But at the end he realises that she's there for him and understands him and that he doesn't have to be afraid of letting her see him in his most vulnerable state because she truly loves him. That's just my opinion tho.

For a solid decade or so I completely forgot about them but over the last couple of years they've been coming back into my life and they've changed quite a bit but I honestly like the change

I was watching television yesterday and there was like a little trailer/ad for a programme that was coming up next and I recognised the song that was playing but I couldn't put my finger on it UNTIL I suddenly hear Murph's voice and I'm like OF COURSE it's the wombats, it's turn. This song literally got me back together with the love of my life, we were apart and both heard this song and instantly thought of each other. That lead to us talking again and now we are happier and crazier than ever before. I think this might be when we finally end up marred (after ten years on and off). Frankly I can't live without her (at least not well) and I like the way her brain works.
