We've spent a few weeks over a couple of trips to Ischia, read all the blogs, bought some guide books, (DEFINITELY buying the guidebook with the bus route map in it when you arrive), and learned a lot from trial and error and talking to locals. That's how we came up with the best things to do on the island of Ischia.
We've gone during the off-season and at the end of high season. This video is from the beginning of September. I would even suggest going in mid-September when everything seems to still be open, weather is great, and you'll have a bit fewer tourists. August is a tough month because, in Italy, it's when shops shut-down for the Italians to take a vacation. I'd avoid Italy in August as a general rule.
*Things to do in Ischia, Italy*

Great video, thank you. We are off to ischia in September and im confused about foorwear as we normally go hiking in places like austria. I plan to take water shoes and sandals (more dressy and ones for daily walking around the towns etc but should i also pack more study hiking trainers/shoes/sandals or is there not really the option of hill walking in ischia.

Would you mind sharing the name of the bus stop for Ristorante Pietratorcia? It's hard to find the information and I was assuming it's about a 30 minute walk from the Citara station, but it seems it's closer than expected. Thank you!

I don't know that the stop had a name. These stops are more about dropping you on the side of the road. It was basically right in front of it if I remember correctly. But I would not suggest to walk on these roads for a longer distance. I would check with your hotel to see if they have a better thought on this.

We walked from our hotel which was close to the bus stop: Serrara Fontana - Terminal Bus S'Angelo D'Ischia
We only took buses on Ischia
