*Sony PSSR and 60FPS...* I still can't grasp how you get to 60FPS for games that don't currently run at 60FPS as has been implied. There's 10% more processing power for the CPU so we aren't going from 30FPS to 60FPS for any game that's got a CPU bottleneck or even close to a CPU bottleneck. I don't expect the rendering resolution to be lowered. Maybe similar or higher (and with potentially better assets). Frame Gen won't save you since you really don't want frame gen at such a low FPS. So I don't see any CPU savings there. The ONLY thing I can think of that the PS5 PRO can do is to make games look BETTER assuming you aren't CPU bottlenecked to start with... or for really SLOW paced games where the lag added by frame gen doesn't matter as much (but that can add temporal artifacts).... **The REAL BENEFIT I can see is that Sony would benefit a lot from seeing what some Devs can do with the hardware so that they can refine the PS6 design. If Sony is creating similar machine learning tech for the PS5 Pro, how long will it take for them to train the system to become useful? It took the better part of three years for Nvidia (a market leading company that specializes in GPU tech) to make DLSS useful, so how much is this going to make a difference for games on the PS5 Pro over the next few years, and how capable will it finally be once it matures? @@ShadyPaperclips same happened with xbox original to xbox 360. xbox original started 1 year after ps2, and was killed 1 year before ps3, only a 4 years lifespan. i think they are going to try replicate it. that's why they are not doing a "pro". they want to make the next gen before the release of ps6.
Rumor is that Sony has already locked-in AMD and has been working with them, while MS was still shopping around until late last year, possibly even now still.
Because they don't think they can just throw money at everything.
Ppl underestimate sony they have always been on the edge of new tech its is the cost worth it
Why don’t you guys make video explaining why ps5 outperforms Xbox have is that possible when Xbox is more powerful then pa5
We have yet to see Sony's solution. Just because Sony came before Microsoft with ML in the console space here doesn't mean they automatically have the better solution. Sony is also having to release bespoke hardware here to support it.
Not to mention it will likely go completely underutilized if it's not available on the base console.
Even though it seems Sony Won, how come it seems like it lost its fan base with the pro because there's not much excitement for the PlayStation 5 Pro. The only people who are excited for the hardcore Sony fans which are only 19% of the PS community, but for the average gamer it's just another machine more expensive.
If you were a hardcore gamer, youd go PC at this point. For long time Playstation players who got a taste of 60fps, even I was thinking when I first played Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 and switched between 30fps mode to 60fps, that man I would really like to have the graphical look of 30, but play at 60. 60fps is much more widespread and known then it was during the PS4 Pro release, as everyone was still playing 30fps and didn't know any better. I think PS5 Pro will be more popular than what the critics think, I'm sure Sony has data on this as well.
Won? Massive loss in psvr2 & billions in shares wiped off..
It hasn’t even been officially announced, casual gamers don’t follow gaming news like that.
its still a rumor no announcement yeah and it will release in the best time GTA6 release you want soupy ps5 version or high res ps5 pro version 10 tflops vs 33 tflops a huge jump
No excitement? It hasn’t been announced. We’re not even supposed to know it exists yet.
*Sony PSSR and 60FPS...*
I still can't grasp how you get to 60FPS for games that don't currently run at 60FPS as has been implied.
Make sense at all?
How annoying you are, if on ps5 a title can run at 1080p60fps then on the pro it will run in dynamic 4k60fps, you are always there like vultures bringing up those 2 shitty optimized games, when even on the ps4 there were games with more complexity on the screen in terms of CPU.
We'll just have to see exactly what PSSR is, more precisely what the 'spectral' name means. Chances are it's not going to be the magic bullet that Sony fans seem to believe it is. Sony tricks their fans each time they release new hardware 😳
How ann****g you are, if on ps5 a title can run at 1080p60fps then on the pro it will run in dynamic 4k60fps, you are always there like vult***s bringing up those 2 s**tty optimized games, when even on ps4 there were games with more complexity on screen in terms of CPU.
@@fcukugimmeausername They'll put more computational power into ML than the 3080 just for fun.
What about the vast majority of games that aren't CPU bound?
If Sony is creating similar machine learning tech for the PS5 Pro, how long will it take for them to train the system to become useful? It took the better part of three years for Nvidia (a market leading company that specializes in GPU tech) to make DLSS useful, so how much is this going to make a difference for games on the PS5 Pro over the next few years, and how capable will it finally be once it matures?
The Nvidia GPU's that have the tensor cores to do machine learning image reconstruction often cost more than an entire console. I feel like this may be one of those marketing gimmicks.
Another thought: Microsoft is not an AI leader in the way people think, and the ways they do have an advantage with AI isn't relavent to the discussion in this video. They own 49% of OpenAI's shares and use ChatGPT's model for CoPilot/BingAI, but those are of course large language models and have nothing to do with machine learning image reconstruction tech.
The PSSR upscaling tech will be the saving grace because jumping to 4K native is a massive drain on the GPU but if using FSR/PSSR you would upscale to 4K and hit 60 on most games, it’s so smooth you really wouldn’t know it’s not 4K native
Sony had years of experience on implementation of AI on the image chips on their flagship TVs long before Nvidia had tensor cores for AI... PSSR is really nothing new.
Forza's Drivatars are one of the longest-running applications of machine learning in the videogames industry.
3rd party developers did Xbox users a dis service bc they didn't make use of the full dev kit stating they wanted the same performance on ps5
Not really when was the first time Microsoft got anywhere first.
Microsoft, the most valuable company in the world? They clearly are doing something right.
@@luisbr6312 yeah they made themselves the default. Windows, office, teams etc. doesn’t mean they make good products. Just means they got in at the right time and secured the market. They also have the most unreliable products (in fairness this is most likely due to their market share), hence why it’s constantly being patched.
Frontrunner on AI and first to implement quantum computing models successfully just recently. Also real AR with hololens from the kinect team.
@@paulatreides7854 you can’t be serious, they bought their way into AI and are far from a front runner in regards to AI. And the hololens was another over hyped tech that has failed, laying off the whole team behind it, reporting they never managed to find a market that wanted to use it.
@@paulatreides7854 frontrunner in AI I don’t think so, the purchased the tech and are way behind the front runners. HoloLens, over hyped tech that never really found it’s niche in the market resulting in team needing to be laid off and losses. Quantum computers, it’s now revealed that this tech is likely to not be as amazing as it was initially hyped, and likely to be a followed by a big bubble type crash due to heavy investments and again limited use. Leaders innovate into a market that is ready and waiting, this is not something Microsoft have a track record of.
