I keep telling people. There IS NO METAL GEAR SOLID 5. IT DOES NOT EXIST. The game is called Metal Gear Solid V. The V stands for VENOM SNAKE, which is whom you play as through the game. The game literally beats you on the head with this in Phantom Pain during the first 10 minutes of the game. Hence the code "V has come to". God, why can't people figure that out?
One suggestion on how a phone can compete with console. For example, cloud gaming like Stadia: If there are enough server around the world or faster internet, suddenly people can play AAA game on phone no matter how small they are as long as they can stream such game from the server. But to be honest, I don't like those milking mobile game as well. They are like what music industry has become nowadays, less on quality, more on repetition and money making scheme. I have been playing one of those mobile game thing just to realized that I can still get far more better hours worth of playing per dollar by spending for good games on steam. While playing mobile game, I always feel like it's such a big time sink and money sink grinding and climbing the ladder. Totally not worth my time and money. But after all, we have what we pay for. So choose wisely what game you will spend. Because if you keep supporting game that care more about your purse than your admiration, they will thrive. Then the next generation, you will realize that honorable game developers die out.
Such a sad story. I have been a fan of MGS for 20 years. Konami used to be my favorite game publisher. MGS, Castlevania SOTN and all the NES classics. If I remember correctly, Konami did say they wanted to be the Asian equivalent of EA (around 2003, when EA was the most successful game publisher in the world). The irony is they achieved this by receiving a billion middle fingers.
It was definitely a bit soul crushing working on this video, but I'm just glad that at least Hideo Kojima got a happy ending. It's just such a waste to see awesome franchises like that discarded, especially after seeing the potential of the P.T. demo.

Well, it cost 80 Million to make but only turn up around 53 Million dollars and you have to wait 7 years for it. 7 years for a 30 million loss. Its a good game but as a business, it's just a bad investment too risky. Why invest in a high-risk high reward if there's a low-risk high reward like mobile games which to add they didn't need to wait 7 years to make profit. I mean I understand why they did it from a business standpoint.
Amidst all the disappointment and revulsion by Konami's actions, what stands out to me is the loss of the Fox Engine. Kojima seemed really enthusiastic about it, like it was a big step forward in aiding game development. The flagship Fox Engine game, MGSV, runs at a near flawless 60fps on consoles, looks great, and is rendering an open-world. There's so much work and potential Konami killed, because they'd rather abandon video games for pachinko.
The games graphics and light effects especially were insane. Even on very weak hardware back then it managed 60FPS SOLID. And for a game looking like that with such fluid movement? Fox Engine was amazing. Its sad.
It's a sad story, and I'm googling why Kojima left Konami only now. Kojima almost foresaw that he would be kicked out of Konami, and that's why he added the UV Light gun in MGSV: GZ. All Metal Gear games with his name on it where erased by the UV light, but games without his name remained, like Metal Gear Rising or Metal Gear Ac!d or Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Kaz even mentions after erasing a few markings that were a Kojima game: "You might be able to erase all the markings... but the memories will never disappear." Meaning that from Kojima's perspective, you can erase my name from the games I made, but people will always remember who I am and my legacy. Also he planned to put the Konami logo on the prison camps in GZ. Says a lot, agreed?
Didn't kojima productions take responsibility for the overall plot of rising tho? And weren't kojima productions the one to start working on the game formerly called metal gear solid: rising in the first place?
@@Warlord_Megatron LMAO, ngl it sound like revenge plot as they do every shit things on purpose, then again, shouldn't be surprised with the name list easter eggs in that game.
I think it also adds to the story that Kojima comes from an era in Japanese culture where it was still expected for someone to spend their entire career with the same company
It's more like "We don't actually care about making quality entertainment, just money". There'll never be a mobile game with the depth of story and overall quality gameplay that metal gear games have.

I'm so happy that Nintendo didn't shift gears to only mobile when they were having a bad time with the wii u. A future where basic mobile gaming is dominant is not a future I want to be in.
My biggest problem with mobile games is not their quality, some of them have extremely good gameplay, graphics and such. My problem with the genre is that its treated as a money making machine, where companies want to squeeze you out of every cent you have for every little piece of the game, they're basically a disguise cash cow that most likely won't live long, but will give huge profits to the company.
Kojima has something much more valuable than he realizes: he has a reputation for making quality games. Fans of his games will follow him, no matter who he makes those games with.
Today's life is so fast paced that people really don't find time to relax. Especially in asia, people spend 2-3 hours commuting to work. Thus the only free time they have is while commuting.

Are you out of your fucking mind? Konami killed the Metal Gear series by having Kojima quit the company. MGSV TPP was left on a cliffhanger, there was alot of unfinished stuff that would've led the story in a really interesting place which would've added more elements and links to the overall Metal Gear lore. Konami are a bunch of piece of shit and greedy fucks for having force stopped one of the most epic series in video game history. That definetely was far from being a step in the right direction.
Hideo stands against what most AAA developers strive for. Quick easy buck for minimum effort. Kojima is an artist, a genius, he pours his soul into his work and it shows. His games have always been incredible. Even an unfinished version of MGSV has more in it than most AAA game releases. He is a man of the people, he gives the people what they want and goes against the grain of the massive gaming industry business plans. I will always be a fan of his and his vision for gaming. Long live Hideo!
wow, this explains death stranding, makes it entirely clear. death stranding is an allegory to his life and how he felt after all of this. ''I thought I had lost everything, but i found out that I had a lot of CONNECTIONS. like Sony people, like Norman Reedus, like Geoff Keighley. I really wanted to RECONNECT with these people that I thought were really important.''
Its amazing how kojima inserted his experienced into DS. If you haven’t played the PT demo (like myself) then watching a video called pts hidden meaning should be a fun watch -I think it was uploaded by the great debate.
Konami is really near-sighted. They said they want to focused to mobile gaming and mobile gaming is a future, but what they want was simply an instant ROI with trashy mobile game that littered by MTX. The thing is mobile market is over-saturated with many free-to-play games. They're going to have a hard time to compete with many developers in mobile market because of the late start. The sad thing is Konami end up creating a slot machine plastered with Snake Eater and Silent Hill title on it few years after Kojima leaving the company.
Funny thing is you are right.i don't see any Konami game popular in playstore other than pes and yu gioh.i think their games division is doomed.they earn from other businesses
Sega said the same crap prior to recently. They said their future was mobile gaming. Dark days, they were. But Sega turned it around. They still make crap, but good games too. Point is, THEY STILL MAKE GAMES.
The problem for Konami is that they don't get a cent every time we remember those great experiences. They already spent the money we paid them over decades, but they want MORE.

Just to clarify: in MGS5, the logo of Kojima Productions still is right there in the opening intro when you launch the game. Therefore it really doesn't matter if they omitted it from the box or store pages. When you launch the game, it's right there. I'm pretty certain that there was an agreement made to have this remaining or being promptly reinstated.
No its probably just that "the suits" at Konami don't actually know anything about game development, so they didn't think to have that removed from the game, cuz they probably didn't even know it was there, til it was too late, and copies were already being shipped. 😆 Like with most industries, the assholes who run these companies don't ACTUALLY know how to do the work to make the products being sold. They're just the bigwigs in suits counting the money & that's it. That's their function.
Revenue is not defined by marketing decisions but by the quality of a product. Kojima always delivered exactly that. He knew what gamers wanted and created a franchise that no one could copy at the same quality. He always implemented more than just gameplay but a meaning to his games, a message that might be weird at first, but extremely entertaining and a revulotionary new approach to problem solving and funny gimmicks to try out.

Notice how Kojima says "those that are important" and "support him." Death Stranding was a good game. The problem is you’re one of those people who were expecting “Metal Gear: Norman Reedus” and it was never going to be that. Don’t think that just because you didn’t like it, that makes it a bad game. Even if “Most People” don’t like a game, still doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. I play COD, DmC, Doom, etc. I even play all the EA games sometimes. I play a lot of games. I can tell a good game when I see one even if I don’t enjoy it and I also can tell when a developer puts a considerable amount of effort into a game. I also think that most gamers can do these things but for some reason you cannot?
Yes only stupid people fail to undertstand the brilliance of the first strand type game dont forget the brilliance and subtlety of the line "I'm fragile but im not not that fragile"
Well, Konami is definitely the story of how a corporation functions with BUSINESSMEN at the helm and not visionaries that lie within a respected industry. Profits and projections outweigh the evergreen nature of fresh ideas and passion. Both sides of this coin are needed for great videogame companies that are beloved and continue a legacy......from my observation
Not sure about the good business men part at Konami. Easing out Hideo influence at Konami, that part I understand, deleting Kojima Production name etc. Trashing your own legend, and not allowing him to attend game award show to receive award for the game he created.....Destroying good will and your own brand Konami? Not sure that's good business... There is value in the visible bottom profit as well as the invisible but present brand value. It's simply bad strategy and incompetent executions.
@@rukawa23gold "Easing out Hideo Influence" what rubbish. That was not good business, nor even business. That was plain scorched earth. You've already restructured the company. You've already demoted all of those at Kojima Productions and most on the console side of things to mere contractors or the lowest level of employees, including Kojima himself. You've already put mobile gaming to the top not only within your gaming division, but to the top of their priorities, including promoting many within that side of the gaming division and installing them in key and high level positions. It was unnecessary to remove all mentions of Hideo Kojima's name, including the name and logo of the studio responsible for creating the damn game. It was done purely out of petty spite and personal animosity on the part of Hideki Hayakawa, and several other key figures (possibly some of the Konami family on the board). It is also not necessary to turn the offices into a gulag, including locking Kojima in a room and doing the same with other key figures, monitoring all communications and emails, restricting communications, barring communication with Kojima and other individuals, blacklisting (from the industry) former employees who leave Konami's festering rotting corpse for guarunteed greener pastures. It goes on and on. None of these are understandable, justifiable, or even business. It's not really unusual for that kind of scummy behaviour within Japanese companies either, though Konami took it to new depths.

I don't even play games but... damn, this is one hell of a story; this had me raging against Konami and choked up about Kojima. Glad this ended with him rising again. I hope he finds more and more success in his future endeavours.
Seems a lot like there was a hostile takeover internally in Konami. The trams that were making mobile games were bringing in a lot of money. Where as Kojima was overseeing games that cost 80 million+. Also I suspect Kojima was told to produce mobile games which he likely refused. Konami went the money route and Kojima stuck to what he wanted.
I'm such a fan of this man's work and history. It brings me so much joy that he's able to continue working on his creative projects despite all the shit that he had to go through, and hopefully he will continue to make his followers satisfied with his ideas for the future :D
I think its important for someone to play devil's advocate so here goes: There may have been signs that Kojima was becoming a bit of a spendthrift. 80 million dollars sounds like alot for a game... and much of it was spent on things no game needs, like celebrity actors Norman Reedus and Kiefer Sutherland who Kojima used to replace fan favorite David Hayter, which on the surface ironically appears like his own lack of commitment to loyalty for the sake of the "big time". The collaboration with Guillermo DelToro was however an exciting one i must admit. It is again, ironic, that many people continue to regard MGS1 as his greatest creation and MGS5 as the worst of his series. Excess and freedom might not always lead to the best creative result. It seems that when Kojima is stifled by a restrictive budget and lesser technology, his huge ambitions work to stretch their limits and make something amazing-- When limited he is forced to exercise and maximize his creative energy. Gameplay as the main focus of entertainment also had to be upheld when he was in those conditions. It is arguable that when he is more free to create his vision, the focus of his games become cinematics and photorealism over gameplay for better or worse.
Some of the stuff I read about Konami, is that the work environment there had always been horrible. That from the day you started, lots of hurdles were put in front of you just to do the job that they hired you for. I think there also is a strong mentality that every employee is replaceable. That they could have just taken a few random developers and they still would have gotten a Metal Gear game just as good as Kojima produced that you don't need at least some talent, that you don't need a vision or a story to tell. That mentality was probably a large part of the reasoning behind some of the actions. They tried to disconnect Kojima from Metal Gear, so that they could continue milking it even after Kojima has left.
If this is true then this is pretty sad : since Konami has created many awesome games, it would show that an horrible work environment would help produce great games. I really hope you're wrong or that you're not talking about 80s, 90s and 2000s Konami.
Konami and Capcom had been making Pachinko and Arcade rigs since forever actually. Those profit margins however, are nowhere near what their console and pc titles netted them back in the day. Not to defend about Konami, but what they said is partly true. There seems to be a rise in mobile gaming these few years and mobile gaming is definitely the most profitable and least risk taking way to earn money. Unfortunately the reality is that probability of people who owns a phone are much higher than those who owns a gaming console/ PC, and it's easier for people to throw in little by little money over a long time rather than straight purchasing an expensive AAA game.
Konami didn't fire Kojima because of the mobile game debate. they fired him because he wanted MORE freedom than ever developing his own game. Konami wanted games that sell, be is mobile or console. Kojima want to make some personal project that doesn't sell commercially. Kojima is a business man, and can tell Kojima is too far gone. Death Stranding is a boring mess that you have to watch some 5 hour video on youtube just to undersand the story. it's not a game for the general audience anymore. this is what happens when you allow Kojima complete freedom, seems like he just watched a bunch of American TV shows and movies and handpicked who the actor he likes and made his ultimate fantasy game. seriously who the fuck care about Norman Reedus? has he appeared anything noteworthy besides walking dead ? back in Konami they were able to kept a leash on Kojima for this kind of stuff. I know it's popular to hate on Konmai but they simple did what's right for the company can you blame them?
I prefer paying the full price once than having to pay little bits all the time, especially because the total will largely surpass the base full price at the end. Do you prefer paying 60 once or 1.500 by 50cents increments over many years? This is also why I've never played payed MMOs. It's a complete ripoff.
Death Stranding is shit... did you see any new player now? unlike other game, the sales still rising, while death stranding only last one month... Konami is right on their choice, Kojima may have skills, but on the long term for their company, it will be downfall...
@@bigz2008 Yes I blame them. Granted we dont know the specifics around what happened but if it was you say (fired for wanting freedom) why fire someone because they want more freedom? Especially if their work is still profitable. I'd rather play a Death stranding (which was mediocre but still profitable) released under Konami any day over Contra Rogue Corps, Metal Gear Survive, or a lazy (and incomplete) Castlevania Collections. MGSV was the last Konami game I bought. The issue here is they killed their console development division leaving western gamers (who only know this side of Konami) out in the cold.
Watching this in 2024, learning that in 2015 Kojima couldn’t even legally go to the Game Awards in 2015, to now seeing Kojima take the Game Awards stage again to present his new game in 2023 to a roar of applause, makes me really happy.
There is nothing wrong with mobile games. But a publisher or dev. Company must not forget it's roots. Gwent is a perfect example of how to compliment your big games with mobile games.
After this video, I fully committed to making videos about the development of video games, but the Amy Hennig story could be interesting to explore. Thanks for suggesting it!
If Konami really want to invest in the mobile gaming industry, they should split the company into two. One will focus on mobile games, while the other will still focus on good-ol' fashion home console. Because they are many people out there still love and rather preferred playing games on their TV or PCs instead of playing games on their phone. That way, Konami won't become hated by the community for their terrible decisions, and Kojima would be staying in Konami for 10 or so more years.
Kojima has been proven to be difficult to work with and for making nonsensical decisions that went over budget such as hiring keifer Sutherland to essentially voice a handful of lines for a lot of money when they couldve used a voice actor for less
Most people tend to gloss over that and the fact he turned his back on David before Konami forced him out. I saw an interview where David stated he was not even contacted for MGSV, talk about a dick move! So we got a game where only two voice actors in the entire game felt like they even gave a shit about their performance in Quiet and Huey, everyone else sounded bored and phoned in. I love the game.....as unfinished as it is (chapter 3), but the game could have been so much more with David giving his normal epic voice acting skills and a completed story.
No matter what games or how much games come out, Metal gear would always be somewhere in my heart. Sad to see it end. I just wanted to at least see the Phantom Pain completed. I wish there was a way Metal gear could continue.
Yeah, I think Konami's move in separating from Kojima's vision really alienated dedicated console players like myself and many others. Console (and PC) games were what lead the company to greatness. It's just really saddening to me that companies would turn their backs on their core audiences. With that said, I wish all the best to Konami, and I am glad that Hideo Kojima has his own new company to take charge of.
I always felt there was some hanky panky going on between Konami and Hideo. I had a sense there was a power struggle going on between them. When I heard Hideo left/kicked from Konami people were a bit panic but I felt Hideo would land on his feet and I was right. I hope he can make another Silent Hill. I never deleted the P.T. demo🤞
I know it must have been hard for Kojima to get pushed out of a company in which he invested decades of his life, but I'm actually glad it happened and I think he is, too.
Death Stranding has sold 10 Million copies, (so far), and is now getting a sequel game AND a movie made after it. 😏 I'd say Hideo Kojima had the last laugh.
Actually 😭 a little at the end when he received the award, this are the people who we should be grateful for the games, not big companies like konami, EA and ubisoft, they don't care about gamers, only care about money
Kojima FTW. Always. The MGS solid francise is such a big part of my life to this day. Thank you Kojima for everything you have done. We all love and appreciate your work. May you continue to thrive in this industry as you well deserve. It kills me that Metal Gear is trapped with Konami.
Say what you want about the games he has made, the dude is very passionate about games and that will always be better. Konami is free to pursue easy cash with shallow games, that's their business now.
I can still see both standpoints. Konami can't afford taking risks on binding onto one single director and his multimillion$ projects. For us gamers this might sound harsh, but for a company, that just isn't very wise. Plus, looking at how Kojima appears in media and how often his name pops up per minute in MGS5, i can absolutely imagine that he's not an easy guy to work with nor share the power over a company-division with. I believe I know the kind of creative visionary who would just turn the world upside down to do whatever they want and looking at Konami wanting to just follow what they believed was the Zeitgeist, these ideas were just about to clash one way or another. On the other hand theres no need to explain all the things that Konami did wrong here as this has already been shouted out over and over and I can also agree with this. What I don't understand here is, why Konami just takes a dump an all of their old beloved franchises that are pretty much the pillars on which the company were built. I mean there's no reason to do that. They can stay silent about it, they can glorify them to emphasize legacy (even if they were about to just make them disappear) or (and that would be the best option) they could just sell them out so other studios can make their take on Silent Hill. But they somehow took a wrecking ball, smashed tehir legacy and let the pieces lie there for everyone to look at and shake their heads. Maybe mobile gaming is making them so crazy rich they just don't care about anything anymore. Still this is really the most weirdest part of this.
You're wrong in one area, Konami absolutely can afford taking the risk of finding the projects of a single autour, the issue is that it just isn't profitable enough for them to view it as a worthwhile venture. The bottom line of profitability is the only factor. Konami as a company isn't dependent on game sales of any sort, they make the bulk of their profit from gambling machines and have since well before they created a game development studio. But that's precisely the problem, they don't need games, it's just one of several means to make more money, and if making more money is their only real goal, then why would they fund expensive passion projects from a prolific game director that don't earn much in comparison to the overall time, effort and cost of development, when they can fund comparatively cheap, quick and easy to produce schlock that earn vastly larger profit margins through micro transactions?
I dont think you understand the gaming market in Japan nowadays with those comments about mobile gaming. When i first arrived in Japan in 06, id see people with PSPs and DS' all the time. Now? Nothing but people using their phones to play mobile games with their awful ponzi scheme pricing (which is the same for just about every game sicne the Xbox was released and the focus shifted to online and DLC). Console gaming morphed into Mobile gaming and you dont even realize it.
Funnily enough, I heard that Kojima himself holds no ill will towards Konami. He's thankful for all the opportunities they gave him; if he wanted to make a game, they'd just give him a team and the funds he needs. He doesn't need to make the game they want him to make first before letting him do his own project and usually wouldn't interfere too much. Most importantly, they allowed him to get experience working on games.
Great video! However, I wouldn't put all the blames on Konami... As much as I hate Konami for what they have done with their franchises, I understand their motives. My family runs a small business and it's pretty cut-throat out there. If there is something that makes you more money with less risk, you just... go there.
@@Undeviated sure but it's difficult to tell whether that specific decision led to that. They do have a ton a products. They may have had even higher profits
Leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but yeah sure. But it was unnecessary for them to passive-aggressively drag down through the mud a key company member who would become an ex-employee, gag-order everyone and remove traces of them (and by extension, a rich and relatively positive chunk of the company's history) to hide you did it, the blatantly lie about it to the planet, and lie some more when you're caught in the lie. That... all of that... that was trash, and I will never forget.
@@savvivixen8490 Yeah but have you stop to think if Konami had actually a good reason to do that?, for example a lot of people bashed Capcom for firing Keiji Inafune and for about 5 years on a row everyone thought that he was wronged, THEN the truth came out, he acted as a diva inside the company and wanted more power and money so the CEOs kicked his holy ass out. - Knowing Kojima and how he likes to be the center of attention (because we should not forget that the guy has enough ego to have his face and name printed in every inch of the products he makes) and knowing that he had a LOT of responsability inside the company, maybe something happened at the high offices or he maybe acted as a diva like Inafune did and Konami got pissed and blastered his sorry ass into the street. - I am NOT saying that Konami did nothing wrong, but by not giving them the benefit of the doubt behind the insane removal of Kojima's name and company from the products and events we could end up failing to grasp the actual truth behind all this. Cuz... c'mon, Konami knew that doing this would be a public relations suicide yet they did it and ONLY FOR KOJIMA in the history of the entire company (if I'm not mistaken) so... once again a REASON has to exist.
Kojima really is one of the greatest designers to ever live. Very few people grasp what it takes to make an original product like the IPs he has worked on.
No matter how much I credit mobile games to help children be actual gamers (meaning they can play a shityy Castlevania rip off on mobile and find that there's something better) nobody can tell me mobile games should be taken seriously they're a gimmick at best and rarely have any heart put into them. Edit: buy indie always BUY indie
We may not know exactly what happened, but judging from the way Konami tried to disgrace Kojima, it seems pretty clear that there was bad blood between Kojima and the new leadership. Maybe the new leadership was jealous of Kojima's reputation, or maybe Kojima said something defiant against the bigwigs when it came to their split in company direction. In the end though, Konami played themselves in the PR sphere, but still came out on top with lucrative mobile games.
It's obvious costly AAA game development ultimately didn't sit well with Konami. 7 years to release a game was just too much. To paraphrase Breaking Bad : they're in the money / empire business, not in the video-game business.
That's exactly what I'm thinking Corporate sometimes didn't want to kick his best employee or making him feel uncomfortable If there's different vision,I think that's not how it end
This video is misleading, it does not explain anything about Kojima's time as Vice President at Konami, how he wasted and laundered money and how he mistreated American voice actors (David Hayter).
This should have been said years ago but - Bring back Metal Gear to its real rightful owner! The father of the game itself. At least Konami may consider giving this to Kojima as a Trophy - that he deserves.
I kept on playing MGSV even after I had finished it just roaming the field and foltuning the hell out of everyone and everything and replay levels, for like 2 freaking months! Even now I sometimes get a sensation to go at it again.

For example, cloud gaming like Stadia:
If there are enough server around the world or faster internet, suddenly people can play AAA game on phone no matter how small they are as long as they can stream such game from the server.
I hope one ☝️ day Metal Gear 6 .... Snake .. snake.. Ps5

I'm pretty certain that there was an agreement made to have this remaining or being promptly reinstated.
No its probably just that "the suits" at Konami don't actually know anything about game development, so they didn't think to have that removed from the game, cuz they probably didn't even know it was there, til it was too late, and copies were already being shipped. 😆 Like with most industries, the assholes who run these companies don't ACTUALLY know how to do the work to make the products being sold. Death Stranding was a good game. The problem is you’re one of those people who were expecting “Metal Gear: Norman Reedus” and it was never going to be that. Don’t think that just because you didn’t like it, that makes it a bad game. Even if “Most People” don’t like a game, still doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. I personally don’t particularly like to play Mario games but I know that they’re great games, the best to some people. So I think you’re either close minded asf, or you have little to no attention span like pointed out earlier. Btw I prefer games like SoulsBorne games, action games, and survival horror. I play COD, DmC, Doom, etc. I even play all the EA games sometimes. I play a lot of games. I can tell a good game when I see one even if I don’t enjoy it and I also can tell when a developer puts a considerable amount of effort into a game.

@@classicface hey hey hey
I think its important for someone to play devil's advocate so here goes:
There may have been signs that Kojima was becoming a bit of a spendthrift.
I’m so saddened that the dispute nearly has ripped the light of MGS out of a lot of people. Kojima is an artist with video games being his canvas
Thanks Hideo for your dedication and time to the industry of gaming. iconic characters...
I was in Tokyo a year ago, I saw Konami logo on a lot of Pachinko machines, maybe that's what they want to make and focus on for now on.

One was an artist, one was a business. Tale as old as time.

Knowing Kojima and how he likes to be the center of attention (because we should not forget that the guy has enough ego to have his face and name printed in every inch of the products he makes) and knowing that he had a LOT of responsability inside the company, maybe something happened at the high offices or he maybe acted as a diva like Inafune did and Konami got pissed and blastered his sorry ass into the street.

I am NOT saying that Konami did nothing wrong, but by not giving them the benefit of the doubt behind the insane removal of Kojima's name and company from the products and events we could end up failing to grasp the actual truth behind all this. Cuz... c'mon, Konami knew that doing this would be a public relations suicide yet they did it and ONLY FOR KOJIMA in the history of the entire company (if I'm not mistaken) so... once again a REASON has to exist.
Kojima really is one of the greatest designers to ever live. Very few people grasp what it takes to make an original product like the IPs he has worked on.
🤡 Clown...
I really just want a continuation of Raiden storyline. It's been long overdue
I really love how wholesome the story and video are
We may not know exactly what happened, but judging from the way Konami tried to disgrace Kojima, it seems pretty clear that there was bad blood between Kojima and the new leadership.
That's exactly what I'm thinking
Corporate sometimes didn't want to kick his best employee or making him feel uncomfortable
If there's different vision,I think that's not how it end
This video is misleading, it does not explain anything about Kojima's time as Vice President at Konami, how he wasted and laundered money and how he mistreated American voice actors (David Hayter).
for this dude, a hero of my childhood, a real artist i won't buy the MGS3 remake, but i will buy Death Stranding 2 for sure. believe that
Well to be honest you are an idiot.
This should have been said years ago but - Bring back Metal Gear to its real rightful owner! The father of the game itself. At least Konami may consider giving this to Kojima as a Trophy - that he deserves.
He was one of the last few developers at the company that gave a damn about the games he made. Komoney only cares about profit.
when you realise that metal gear is truly dead, and that phantom pain was the last even though it was so good and good looking. :(
I kept on playing MGSV even after I had finished it just roaming the field and foltuning the hell out of everyone and everything and replay levels, for like 2 freaking months!
Even now I sometimes get a sensation to go at it again.
