- It's that time of year again and efforts are focussed on preparations for this years EOBC on the mighty Holderness Coast. Conditions are far from ideal with a powerful north easterly swell hitting the beaches and bringing with it a serious amount of tidal pull.
We decide to hit our usual spot at Aldbrough to see if we can winkle anything scoreboard worthy out for the weight in. Other than a couple of obliging rocking it turns out to be a very challenging day indeed!
Hopefully you still enjoy the video and as always thanks for watching.
Tight lines and keep fishing!

well done boys, and some great video footage👍
Thanks very much mate, appreciate the feedback 👍
Great video as usual. I really enjoyed the tactical discussion, regarding what you were planning to fish for the conditions. I hate Mono with a passion, but your reasoning for fishing it was spot on. Made perfect sense. I really enjoy watching you both 👍
Hi mate, thanks very much for commenting, really appreciate it 🙏👍 glad it made sense. Tight lines for your future sessions 👍👍
Enjoyable watching, like your videos, keep them coming
Go Steady to you both
Cheers Derek much appreciated! Tight lines 🙏👍
Looked hard work that mind am looking forward to sunday siloth chasing thornys lol then role on june mighty skye🎣
Good luck!
Great video guys, you did right using mono so you can get a good uptide bow in the line. I fished Skipsea again just for the ease of get down 'knackered knees' 😃 Held ok Saturday but Sunday was hard work. Missed a good slacker about midday on Saturday but didn't see a fish. We will have to catch up one day for a Hound session on my local Lincolnshire beach 👍
Cheers Wayne, yep mono definitely helped for sure👍
Catch up sounds good, tight lines💪👍
well done lads its been a hard one this year, great video lads.
Cheers Alan. Yeah very tricky indeed!
@@fullcircleangling it was seen the one on river to bit more calm, but I think it's time of year now some fish move on some move in,hopefully going to be a great summer for hounds & Ray's, take care keep up the good work lads.
A great format to your videos and I appreciate all the extra camera work. It certainly helps with the overall presentation.
Just out of curiosity, why is the comp held in March? I’m not familiar with that area at all, but I would’ve thought it was one of the leanest times of year.
Cheers lads.
Cheers Ollie really appreciate that mate👍🙏
I can only assume it’s so there’s adequate light after the comp when people are driving round etc. and the weather isn’t quite as cold as Jan/Feb🤷♂️
Cracking video that, very informative too. Just what a needed since im unable to move after a huge lamb dinner. Them yellowtails looked the business. Looking forward too the next one. Oh and nice kettle lol, I've got the same one
Cheers Tony thanks for watching. Yeah they were good worms. Kettle is canny too! Tight lines 👍
Cracking video - drone footage! Always appreciated. Hope you're both well lads.
Thanks very much Wayne appreciate that mate👍
Disappointing for you both, and almost everybody else, from what I've seen and heard🥺.

Thanks very much Kev mate. Yeah really tricky that one!
Aye, the conditions were very tough, me and a few others where up Mappleton drowning worms. Not a bite between 10 of us! Tight lines, always enjoy your videos, all the best Charlie 👍👍🎣🎣
Cheers Charlie thanks for the feedback. Yeah very hard going indeed!
Ha ha don't get me started bout measuring sticks my old mans is like a roll of lino flooring when rolled out,get alot of stick for it lol also try adding an upside weight to your armoury as abit of slack line n uptide weight can be the edge paired with mono n soft rod, personally I have managed to fish an unfishable tide on the Humber, when most people tried n left 👍
Haha sounds some but if kit that!
Good shout we may well give that a crack👍
Not the most productive but I enjoyed the vid all the same, good stuff guys!
Thanks Johnny, tough going unfortunately but that’s fishing I guess. Tight lines mate👍
Hi chaps you both ok, only rockling but it saved the blank. Everybody ive spoken to have said how hard it was with the tide pull. All the best from GRIMSBY
Cheers Carl, hope you’re well. Aye very hard going indeed wasn’t it!
As well as having the angling knowledge, it's having the mental capacity to stick it out on the off chance of getting something decent. Speaking from personal experience, I always find I can fish longer when the conditions are bad when I'm with somebody, as opposed to being alone! Fortune favours the Brave!🤞😄👍
Absolutely Kevin, pairing up definitely helps!
Hard work there boys going by videos out on UA-cam bit of a poor comp fish wise better Luck next time conditions didn’t help I suppose for everyone anyway tight lines 🎣👍
Aye dreadful Derek, shame the conditions were so poor. Tight lines mate, hope you’re well👍

Hi David been watching your videos really enjoying them , are you wearing waders you look like you have light shoes , I'm sure they must be built-in to really light waders , which look the business , I'd like to get some cheers regards paul
Thanks Paul much appreciated mate. They’re Vision Atom waders and Vision Koski waders, both are spot on it’s of kit and have lasted me a good while. I religiously wash them down with fresh water after each use which definitely helps to prolong their lifespan.
Hope that helps and thanks very much for watching, much appreciated 🙏 tight lines💪
