    Not recommending a Concrete calk/sealer until I find one that doesn't shrink.

    Extremely Good Point On the Matte Finish. A friend of mine just got his shop finished and started his projects in it. He has that Nice, Beautiful, Super Shiny black & white checker epoxy floor (beyond expensive) and was helping him move things around. Your feet slip n slide all the place pushing a cherry picker around. All the casters on all his tools (and dollies) had to be replaced with nylon wheels, and he spent so much money on that floor he's scared to do what he used to do in his old shop.
    He said if he could of done it all over again, he woulda done something like you did here. If you scratch it, you can fix it yourself. It's cheap, so you don't see $$$$ flying out of your wallet when you pick up the grinder or plasma torch.
    Good Vid, and the new place is looking sweet man.

      Thanks for the kind words. It looked to be the best solution to the problem of sealing the floor against water (coolant) and oil.

    I sealed the floor of my garage and really feel like it was the right decision. The price was right, it wasn't hard to do, and it worked.

      HAHAHAHA, I get it. My experiences at Ridgemont put me onto this stuff. 90 weight gear oil leaves a mighty stain.

    15 years ago I did a Valspar floor paint & within a couple years the sun turned it pea green in color. It was dangerously slippery for my wife & kids. My current shop has no paint or sealer & I prefer it that way. The concrete absorbs some of the water or snow melt vs staying on top & potentially being a slip & hip replacement (haha). Your choice is the only way I would consider going for a floor covering that’s a working shop like yours is!

      I really dig the product. We'll probably do it out on the side pads too. Since we plan to use the pads for cleaning undercarriages and such.

    I'm not a fan of painted floors either. For my last project, I used a concrete stain to dress things up a little before applying the sealer. Very happy with the combination so far.

    It's coming along nicely. Are you planning on insulating the shop? I have a metal roof and it was pretty hot this past summer. I'm considering spray foam insulation for the roof. My walls are wood studs with T1 11 siding, so that can wait.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  2 роки тому

      I did spray foam in what we are now calling Studio A (the 24x24 shed). It works great for keeping out the heat, but man is it UGLY. LOL We will be showing insulating the building. We'll be starting on that in a couple of weeks. Soon as my arm starts to improve.
