    What do you recommend in a restaurant setting? I’m worried about spills

    • @Mrconcretecoatings
      @Mrconcretecoatings 7 місяців тому +1

      A coating. Polished concrete doesn't do well with food spills and most restaurants don't clean their floors good enough to maintain polished concrete

    • @wolfofconcrete
      @wolfofconcrete  7 місяців тому +1

      Out of these two options, grind and seal. A lot of restaurants do epoxy coatings as well.

    How do you repair a crack in polished or treated floor?

    Great explanation ! Is the look at 3:51 how the final floor will look when it is dry ?

      Thanks. That means sealing creates a less uniform shine than polished concrete.

    my husband and I own an intimate event venue. The floors are already concrete, but paint (which I hate). Would a grind and seal be best? I'm leaning towards that.

    What grits did you start with and end with for sealing?

    • @wolfofconcrete
      @wolfofconcrete  7 місяців тому +2

      It depends what the substrate looks like and hardness of the concrete. For grind and seals we usually start with 30s and end with 70s.

    If a floor was already grind and sealed, does the sealer had to be removed to polish it? Or can you polish the existing finish?

    • @wolfofconcrete
      @wolfofconcrete  3 місяці тому

      The sealer will be removed in the process. Depending on the shape of the concrete you’ll most likely start with a 70 grit anyway which would remove the topical sealer.

    • @wolfofconcrete
      @wolfofconcrete  3 місяці тому +1

      Once polished you will then apply a penetrating sealer.

    Hey man, I’m on the demo side of the industry. We scrape and grind floors down to concrete so installers or finishers can come in. I was wanting to seal the concrete in my home. My sister has an old dog that’s been peeing all over the house. I’m just ready to tear everything out. I was hoping to grind and seal it for a matte finish and easy maintenance until the dog passes. I’m not to privy on the products to use though. Any suggestions?

    Polished concrete is way more expensive and not necessary! And it will take a shit tone of time to get it polished when you could have the same results burning the concrete then sealing it !

    • @superwcampbell
      @superwcampbell 4 місяці тому +2

      Steel troweling the concrete and sealing is a totally different aesthetic in terms of light reflectivity/gloss/clarity than polished concrete.
      There are situations where each are better suited, but in general I would disagree that pc is not necessary, takes a shit tone of time, and is the same result. It can be expensive, and should be if done well.

    • @JacksonPhillips-jx3gp
      @JacksonPhillips-jx3gp 28 днів тому

      It is not the same result at all as grind and seal would fail a DOI test.
