    Shane Fenton and the Fentones
    Origin: England
    Genres: Rock and roll
    Years active: 1960-1964
    Label: Parlophone
Shane Fenton and the Fentones were an English rock and roll group formed in 1960. Shane Fenton, the band's namesake, was actually the stage name of two different musicians; when the first Shane Fenton, real name Johnny Theakston, suddenly died, he was replaced by Bernard Jewry who assumed the Shane Fenton identity. They had four top 40 hits with Jewry as their lead singer. Jewry would later find fame as *Alvin Stardust* ...

Shane Fenton made a spectacular entrance on a Larry Parnes package show circa 1961, flying out of stage right, dressed in a silver lame suit he executed the splits, a helll of an opening. Top of the bill was Billy Fury with Eden Kane closing the first half of the show, Georgie Fame was also on the bill.
Not a bad lineup I think you'll agree.

A friend of a friend knew a bloke who lived the rock and roll lifestyle; smoking fancy cigarettes, drinking fashionable beers, expensive cocktails and having it off with anyone that was available at last orders.
One night he was having a really bad trip, he’d missed a connection and the bus that had been put on to replace the train had broken down four miles from their final destination. It was back in the days before jet packs so there was no other option but to try and complete the journey on foot. Luckily he was wearing special shoes that helped keep the worst effects of the dirty pavement from ruining the soft skin of the underside of his feet.

You read through his life as if you had never heard him sing... "Coo-Car-Joo" as _you_ pronounced it was better than you made it sound - but maybe that was just (to give you the benefit of the doubt) your bland, straight forward Aussie accent... In your haste to read off details of a man before your time, your dulled inflection gives no hint of the Star personality and likeable persona inherent in the man. Instead, your rushed monotone intimates at just another wannabe mere mortal looking for, and temporarily finding fame. If you want to put down the success of any singer, carry on in that unflattering fashion.
If, on the other hand, you felt at any time the artist you described was worthy of his fandom, you could try speaking as though his life was more than just black or white print in a white or dark page!! A man's life, if it is to be remembered fondly, especially by those who lived through his era, ought to be celebrated with more feelings in his description than "... He was born. He sang. He lived a certain way. He died"!!
We _all_ do versions of that. He deserved more. (and "my Coo-cCa-Joo" deserved the sweet sensitivity it didn't receive from your "mispronounced dismissal of a silly title" as though his _fans_ meant nothing as they sang along fondly to that song. 😠
    Alvin Stardust... Rest In Peace.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿😞
