When I think of the word "speed", I think of a cruise ship.
I don't care what anybody says, Speed 2: Cruise Control was an awesome movie! I remember my aunt taking my brother and I to go see it in theaters and I was 6 at the time!

As much as you are entitled to your oppinion, and i agree with you witrh regards to Cruise control... Speed (1) was a cinematic action masterpiece, original and edge of your seat adrenaline filled popcorn munching sweetness.

Dennis Hopper's performance in the first speed really is what made the movie so good as well as Keanu. Speed 2 not even close.
my friend is a film major. He said a homeless guy once went up to him and said he directed a feature length film himself. My friend replied "I hope that movie was Speed 2"
This was the 1st film i ever heard of Willem Dafoe. I'm sticking to the original by the way.

Looking back, this is not that bad of an action film. Yes it is flawed but it has a lot more going for it compared to some other action movies. I'd pick this over any of those transformers movies for sure.
and i thought tom is in this movie because of 'Cruise Control'
I loved the first one. When I saw the second one I had no idea Reeves wasn't in it, but I still liked it all the same. Good story.
Idk why people hate this movie so much, I think it was a good sequel. I give it 3 stars. And the first one 5.

This script gave me aids, this comic relief gave me TB, this acting gave me gonorrhea, and this filler gave me ebola and cancer simultaneously. I'm now in critical condition because of Hollywood's ability to make sequels the worst thing since the Black Death.
I've seen far worse sequels, this one I really like a lot. It was adventurous, it was action packed, it was comical and it was more romantic than the first one. I love Speed 2!

Think about this though. If Dennis Hopper's character hadn't died, we would've lost Sandra's character, and maybe even Keanu's as well! I see where you're coming from, though. and I agree with you, Dennis Hopper is great at playing bad guys! That's what he's known for actually. Playing either bad guys, or crazy people!

I really think Keanu should have accepted to return. Not sure why he didn't. If he did, this film would have been way more successful.

i've seen the first part of this.. annie spoke about jack when he gave her pepper spray and she thought it was perfume and she said again how relationships that start on intense circumstances don't last.

this was a good movie, but the first one was better. and i wish Keanu would have done this one. But the guy they have to replace him isn't bad. he's good looking and has good chemistry with Sandra too.

Yes, it wasn't so good as 1st Speed but still OK - not bad storyline, not bad acting. Sandra Bullock was amazing as always.

i don't understand some people in the comments like this movie, it's a terrible movie. let me break down why it's a awful sequel, the first one is one of greatest action movies ever made. keanu reeves and dennis hopper made the movie awesome and the idea of a speeding bus made it more suspensing and excited, as of the second one, with no keanu and a idea of a cruise is laughable , because a cruise is slow and unexcited. it makes this unwatchable. so if someone like this movie, i feel bad about your lives.

Speed 3 idea- bomb attached to taxi with paying customer inside. Taxi must not go under 45 mph or it will explode. It will also explode if the gas runs out.
Also, Speed 2 was not too bad, watched a recording from ion 2 or 3 weeks ago straight through the entire film!

this movie was good I guess. enjoyed the scene where they had to avoid the oil tanker and the water coming through. always good to see a catastrophe in movies. but a dislike about it was that throughout a lot of it, you couldn't even hear the dialogue because annoying music was playing too damn loud... and Dafoe's death.. like why would you take your eyes away while youre flying over a massive boat with shit sticking up everywhere? apart from that, nothing was terribly wrong with it

speed 2: cruise control i remember watch on HBO i was 8 and i very liked, but pretty decent sequel. i disappointing Keanu Reeves did not want to appear in the sequel, Reeves want on tour with his band Dogstar.
The only good part of Speed 2 is when Williem Defoe's character is killed in a helicopter crash(he's actaully laughing his ass off before he crashes.)

this film was on TV today, and it was so bad i laughed my ass off all the way through it. the plot is messed up and theres random explosions and the main villians death is very unlikely.

Well the movie was good, but it's totally sad without Keanu Reeves.
If Speed 2 and let's say Kissed, a dark comedy about a woman necrophile, were the very last 2 movies at the movie store, I would've choosed Kissed

One problem. The bomber got his head knocked off. It should have been the bomber's kid or something, so at least, it would be REALISTIC. Same thing happening to the same people??? Come on......
