I watched the first 15 minutes of Speed 2, then I shut that shit off 😂Sandra and Willem are great actors, but man that shit looks like trash. The original Speed I've watched so many damn times though. 😂
Eh, sorry, Sandra, but your involvement is the reason the film received the hate it got. You were the only flimsy contrived connection to the first Speed and not exactly the most welcome. Speed 2 on its own is actually a fun time. It just had the misfortune of being a sequel to an excellent action thriller classic. Cruise Control was different in tone, and could have easily been it's own movie if it wasn't for your character being in it.
Speed 2 for me feels like a more serious version as if it's making up for something that got changed during the original Speed. And although I love the original as well, it feels more hammy like an outdated 90s movie. But both are great in their own way.
Her reaction was priceless. I saw Speed 2 as a kid. And for what I do remember of it, I regret that I do. The first Speed is still one of my favorite movies. Speed 2 is the definition of watered down. Pun Intended.

The screenwriting was the flop. It had nothing to do with the lack of Keanu. It would have bombed with or without Keanu. Most of the script did not make sense. They had to force conflict and laughable plot points to develop a story.
I know Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997)⚓💥 may not have the badass Keanu Reeves as Officer Jack Traven❤🔥, but the danger (not the velocity) is greater than Speed (1994). It surpass easely many modern productions. Also, Jason Patric as Alex Shaw was highly competent🦾. Willem Dafoe as John Geiger terrifying👹! Of course, this film is one of my favorites as a sea story🌊.
