Very different albums, the cure takes the more technological aspects of music with a lot of synths, effects, reversed notes, etc. whereas the smiths keep more to a raw, authentic band style of music. Morrisey IS arrogant, my BF worked on his tour as a truck driver and spot light operator, and Morrisey banned everyone - talent, crew and drivers - from eating meat on his tour! So, you can imagine how badly that upset those blokey-bloke truck drivers, being told there's no full English breakfast going to be served in catering!
