I just found this song and it's crazy how this song is one year older than me. I wish I was some 71 year old grandpa with a bunch of cool tattoos listening to this song.
The Cure is my favorite band of the 80's, also was my best friend's favorite band. In 2019 The Cure came to Mexico and I invited my best friend to the concert, it was sublime for us to hear Robert Smith playing his greatest hits 2 hours (me and my friend always dreamed of seeing The Cure live). I have always loved this song, especially after having my own lovecats. But what really stands out to me today is the pure vocal of Robert repeating the line, "how could we miss someone as dumb as this" at 2:38 when it's such a clear recording with just the hint of echo of his voice, with no other instruments. It's such a small thing, but so cool!
This was the first Cure song I heard, think I was 13 or so. Loved it and have loved Cure ever since.
