- A celebration of the incomparable and oft-appearing Bruce Kirby a.k.a Sergeant George Kramer. Columbo's chief sidekick during the golden age of the show, Kramer is Kirby's most enduring character - but why does he transform into Sergeant Phil Brindle? And exactly how many times DOES Kramer appear in the series?

I always love seeing how these actors can go from playing nameless extras to regular characters back to some random side character again. Seems like an odd transition at times, but still fun to see.
6:25 - _”You gonna start that again?”_
That cracked me up! 😂
9:32 - Small editing suggestion: throw a soft drop shadow on the lettering to set it off from the book cover, or turn the opacity of the cover down to darken it so the text is more legible. Just a suggestion.
Thank you for the kind plug, brother! 🤘
Ahhh nice tip on the book and text! I was struggling with that, couldn’t figure out how to set it up right.
I suspect that Sgt Brindle may have not been written with him in mind, perhaps he was cast last minute & they, for whatever reason, didn't think to tweak the script to just have him be Kramer. Shooting on stuff like this could deal with tight schedules at times.
Kirby’s Dreamland. Don’t know how you do it!
Fastastic work as always that's why I am an avid rewatcher of you videos
P. S there is a show called "The Mentalist" which, of course, takes a lot of inspiration from Columbo, so much so, that there is one episode of season 3 that uses the same sting as in "prescripto murder"
Maybe you could make the a video like the one you did for Jack and the fat man
Thanks so much! I’m so gratified that you find these interesting.
I just had someone else recommend ‘The Mentalist’ to me as well - I will have to start my research on that episode you mentioned.
Great!!! Great video!!!
Cool beans Brother
Have you watched Peacock's Poker Face? Columbo inspired for sure, no as clever, more action driven, but excellently made.
I’ve heard good reports about that show! I’ll have to check it out and see what parallels are there. Thanks!
sorry, but the person, other than Peter Falk, who appeared most often in Columbo was Michael Lalley. I believe he appeared in 28 episodes.
You’re right about Lally! But his parts (except for his amazing role in ‘Now You See Him’) are mostly uncredited cameos. Hardly ever what you’d call a real character.
@@EchoesOfColumbo Yes you are right he played many different characters some with very small speaking roles
@@markwarren250 “Columbo” always had the best world-weary police officials. Mike’s dialogue was always along the lines of “Sure thing, Lieutenant.”
☺😊👍💜
Perhaps seeing Columbo as a conventional TV series is not right. Instead, it is a series of somewhat interrelated mystery movies. The only canon that is relevant is that such the current film you're watching will acknowledge.
These are wise words! It’s easy to be teased by the occasional recurring character or inter-episode reference, but really each “Columbo” is a standalone work of art.
