Prince was a giant and this is an amazing song. We tried with my friend from R&O to cover his great song "Dreamer". If you have 4 minutes to spare, we would love to get your opinion on it : ua-cam.com/video/XgveJB1Xg6c/v-deo.html
@Morgan Smith dont remember MJ writing, arranging, producing his own albums or playing multiple instruments or being able to effortlessly switch from Jazz to funk to Rock to Rnb. Try again.
Sheila E is one of the few musicians that could play as hard as Prince on instruments he didn’t know anything about. Unlike base, drums, piano, guitar, all kinds of shakers, etc., where he could teach, Congas, and timbales where a mystery to him. That’s why he always gave her so much playing space. He is a genius, for sure
Y'all - even that bit of tambourine he threw in there. Just listen ... 0:46. It's so perfect. And Wendy's shoulder action / jig around 0:55 to 1:05 is everything 😂
The studio version is bliss but the way the synths are amped up here with the guitar and the vocals just takes this to the next level. I could listen to this forever. The way these musicians constructed the song and build it up like this is absolutely phenomenal.
I saw Prince two nights in a row at The Forum in Inglewood, Cali on this tour in '85. He sold out The Forum six nights in a row. You know how big you have to be to pull that off? Amazing show. To this day it has to be one of my top five concerts. It was great to see someone so talented, who worked so hard, who dedicated their life to music, actually make it. I have always had total respect for His Royal Badness. What a talent. I think he will be held in the same regard in much the way Beethoven and Mozart are a hundred years from now.
Be careful the music snobs don't see that comment lol. But I agree, Prince, MJ, Isaac Hayes and so many of our lost legends had a way about themselves and made awesome next level music. Some of us revel in their music now as if they were classical standards because they set standards in their genre and music itself
I feel a spiritual connection with Prince. I’m battling Lyme disease. I had a beautiful dream where Prince made me feel happy and loved in a family way, spiritual! Thank you Jesus! Love you Prince 🙏❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜
We drove to LA Forum (historical name) every other weekend and experienced 3 different shows. The tickets were $25 and every show's encore started with Purple Rain. Looking around us there were people from all over this beautiful Blue Planet. Everyone felt the presence of something holy and uniting. The tears in our eyes spoke to the experience of a greater truth. The power of music fully realized by a man who weaved our spiritual reality together, if only for a few fleeting moments.
Wendy is playing her ass off! I love how she dances while playing, just rocking, &those wicked guitar licks, I can't get enough of. Sheila always playing her ass off too! She's an enigma of her own. And Prince is dancing his ass off! The whole Revelution band was just full of great musicians. All of them together is a symphony that I grooved to my whole childhood into adult hood. Thank you Prince & the Revolution for such wonderful music ♥️
The way he has command of that band... such showmanship and professionalism. What a fucking show. I’d give my left festival to go back and be able to witness Prince live in his heyday
Very blessed to experience it in real time, blessed to recognize, appreciate, and love the art of real music, and blessed to be able to enjoy it over and over in the present and future💜

Awww! So glad to see this. I was there on the 26th. My birthday. When he yelled,"Lisa!" I yelled back, "I LOVE YOOOO!!!" Saw him 8 times in my life. Then, I got tickets for my daughter in 2011. Her first MAJOR concert. She loved Prince. I cried. The circle was complete.
I wish I was able to attend one of his shows. The energy. The showmanship. The talent. Just magnificent. You can feel the energy through the buildup of the song 😍🙌🏽

Although this was my second time seeing him in concert, It was still an incredible experience, I'll never forget it. My first time seeing him was in Baltimore with Vanity 6, and the Time.

I attended numerous rock concerts and pro wrestling matches at the CC in the 1980s and early-'90s, and remember it as a dingy and uncomfortable hockey arena with horrendous acoustics.
Although I have never had a personal preference for Prince’s music, I can never appreciate or respect him enough for his talents, production values, and encouragement, support, & development of other (particularly female) artists. He was a significant force in the music industry that helped advance the careers of many others. Kudos to Prince. 👍 👍
Excellent point. He oozed music and seemed like he couldn't help but to share it with the world-friends, family, strangers, anyone who was open to receive the blessing.
Think, really THINK about this. PRINCE in 1984 - 1984!! A GENIUS ahead of his time, edgy, and multiple talents. Thank you GOD for letting me be here on this earth to have witnessed this and received the inspiration!
The great thing about Prince is that he got better with time. He was always amazing, but pushed himself to be the best version of himself he could be. Just to see the growth from the humble "I Wanna Be Your Lover" to the lush and extravagant "Diamonds and Pearls" is absolutely breathtaking and genius. We love and miss you, Prince 🕊💜
This song is 40 years old, how on earth am I just now realizing the meaning of the lyrics? WOW, Wow! Thank you Lord for speaking to us in THE most unexpected ways! Thank you God for giving artists like Prince the courage to popularize this great song!
This is the song that my daughter has chosen to be her Mother/Daughter dance at her wedding. I took her at 9yrs old to a Prince concert and she fnally understood why her mother was so insane over this beautiful man! "Your just a sinner I am told"....etc explains EVERYTHING she knows I feel for her raising her as a single mother. I would die for you 💜
Prince really inspired a lot of people. I started off loving the drums, still do, but Prince was the one who got me into the Guitar. I even rock the Heels and give not a care in the world what people think. Prince = Magnificent.💜
Knowing Prince is serenading the Lord 24/7 is a VIBE. Cannot imagine the pride he has, knowing how many people have connected with God because of this song. RIP 🐐
Today’s the sixth anniversary of his tragic death, but I’m here jamming to his funkiest sermon ever! “I Would Die 4 U” is Prince sharing the Gospel over a frizzy synth-funk groove without sounding preachy: 1st verse (God); 2nd verse (Jesus); 3rd verse (Holy Spirit). Genius! I’m grateful that I witnessed a musical genius take the rule book, rewrite it, and rip it to shreds before he strutted into the afterworld in his trademark heels. #RIPPrince
This song is amazing and whoever saw him live was blessed. Him and Michael Jackson were in a music class of their own. The Two best artists of my life time
I kind of disagree a bit about Prince and Michael being in a class together. Michael wrote some iconic tunes and was a fantastic entertainer with a great vocal sound. I love Michael. But Prince was alone in his class. And I say this not to diminish Michael in any way. Prince wrote, played so many instruments and was also a great entertainer. Prince’s song catalogue was all over the place. Michael was a huge trend setter as well as an unstoppable juggernaut. But Prince was revered by fellow musicians for his ability as a player of instruments and that’s why I, in my own opinion keep Prince in a class of his own. I do respect your opinion because I understand it. I just differ. Or, I might be an idiot
There will NEVER be another Prince. He was such a musical inspiration to me and played a huge influence in my development as a guitarist in the 80’s. The man was simply THE MAN!
Most of us never met Prince. I never have and yet I betcha many of us feel like we know him because of the purity of his art. I miss him! Your music keeps you eternal! Your light is immortal and that's legendary! LA VIVA PRINCE
Amazing person, and a top notch musician. more than a triple threat cause thats singing dancing and acting. He could also play all the instruments, at an elite level. Heck i pretty much just play guitar and a little keys. After 20yrs i still cant play guitar as good as prince, never mind the rest of the instruments. A phenomenal talent.
I was there too .... at the Capital Center. Funny thing is, I didn't really like him. I just went because the girl I'd just started dating had tickets. Shelia E was the opener, and I became a fan of both her and Prince by the time the concert was over.
PRINCE was an extraordinary man. He was an phenomenal performer. Blessed with so many talent . Prince you are truly missed. YOU ARE THE BEAUTIFUL ONE 🕊️💜🕊️💜
I regret never seeing prince in concert..... these people truly lived a once in a lifetime opportunity..... Prince was really something you'd never understand.....Happy birthday!
He'd already changed the words from "I'm your messiah" to "He's your messiah" at this point, he changed his mind on that very early on, but the song had already become hugely popular. Good funk jam.
@ Amen. A person doesn't even need to be Christian to understand what Prince meant. His cross necklace says it all! One just needs to understand English (1st person vs. 3rd person) and symbols. Also, atheists are mad that they were tricked into loving something/someone that/who praises GOD. 😂🙏
Dang I miss you Prince. Simply the best ever. Just Wow!!! Sheila you are onr talented lady. Love you girl. Prince my heart still hurts. Loving you always.
I can imagine being in this crowd ..I'm so sad this musical genius is gone. I will always be a BIG FAN of Prince.. may his memory and long list of incredible music catalog live on forever! 🥺🙏. Wishing Prince a peaceful journey.
Beautiful man Face of an Angel, surely Certainly the voice is Angel blessed His face is just perfection He'll never be passed away Hes only just round the corner
He gave the best concerts and Sheila's hands were so fast. The lights would cut off and she had sticks that would light and change colors in the dark. Best concert EVER !!😊
@user-bb3wf8qm9x Sheila took the electric drum sticks, tossed them high in the air, did a triple spin and caught the sticks behind her back with one hand. SIMPLY BADDASS !! 😎
It’s for my cat Peaches, who passed away in January. Now I’ve had my daily cry. I miss her Sooo muchI lipstick my babydoll I lost ❤️ love. I know she is here in spirit, but she’ll never come back. I hope and lpray we are together, as happy spirits, in the home we both loved so much. My story worked out today. Everything is better- and this time, it’s true. I did it all for this perfect 🤩 birthday 🎉 for a perfect little Southern Belle ,my prettiest Star. She wanted the best for. Mommy. She had a heart ♥️ of gold.
Prince is an artist that makes the music he wants on his own terms. He settles for nothing less. He is a perfectionist 🎉🎉. But,that's cause he wants his music 🎶 🎵 to move people and make a statement 🎉🎉
This is not pop music. Prince is not about that. All of his existence and work. This is invention, refinement, composition, performance, aesthetics, expertise, all on another not just new but upper than yesterday's level...real art
Jesus, the man had no boundaries... I saw him. At Earl's Court in 1992 and it was a life-changing moment. They switched the house lights one when everyone had left the arena... He came back on!!! 000's of People... piling back into Earl's court... it was insane

That intro how he was building the song was amazing the instrumental merges I can't get past.... brilliance
#RIPPrince
Well said!
Check out this video I made?? Its about the fraudulent investigation. ua-cam.com/video/ZZni1ReBihc/v-deo.html
Bless you.
Yep ..glad someone see it
Yes he is until Larry Graham got him into that Jehovah witness foolishness ..
So wonderful to see these older concert clips of his Royal Badness, much purple love. Miss You Prince, you were the very best that ever did it. rip
@@brokl26 if you read Stephen's comment, it said Prince and MJ were in a music class of their own. As in their own class not in the same class.
There will NEVER be another Prince. He was such a musical inspiration to me and played a huge influence in my development as a guitarist in the 80’s.
The man was simply THE MAN!
He is so happy in this set because the sound he wanted is there and the revolution is on point .
What a great performance. I wish I could've seen Prince live.
Most of us never met Prince. I never have and yet I betcha many of us feel like we know him because of the purity of his art. I miss him! Your music keeps you eternal! Your light is immortal and that's legendary! LA VIVA PRINCE
Beautifully said!! I will always adore Prince! Forever in my heart! Until we meet in heaven, God willing! Amen!
🙏❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜🌈☀️🌹🌹❤️
I was there!!!! I saw that show twice!!! 💜💜💜
How did u do the purple heart
Delphine Craig wow lucky
Amazing person, and a top notch musician. more than a triple threat cause thats singing dancing and acting. He could also play all the instruments, at an elite level. Heck i pretty much just play guitar and a little keys. After 20yrs i still cant play guitar as good as prince, never mind the rest of the instruments. A phenomenal talent.
Delphine Craig that's cool I'm from the area I was too young at that time
I was there too .... at the Capital Center.
I’m still here to watch it again and again.
One of the greatest to ever do it!! Party like it's 1999 in heaven prince.
What a beautiful love letter to God from Prince & the Revolution. Each musician has a solo love letter to God on their instruments as well. Beautiful.
Legendary performance!!!
I regret never seeing prince in concert..... these people truly lived a once in a lifetime opportunity..... Prince was really something you'd never understand.....Happy birthday!
Yeaaaah 🙌 🙌 🙌 awesome concert let's go Prince ❤😊 🕺 💃 🕺 I would die 4 you!!!! 🎶 🎶
i really think it is so totally impossible to choose a Favorite Prince song, each one of them take me there everytime
He'd already changed the words from "I'm your messiah" to "He's your messiah" at this point, he changed his mind on that very early on, but the song had already become hugely popular. Good funk jam.
And it left certain details unexplored, like how heaven could fracture in the first place...
@ Amen. A person doesn't even need to be Christian to understand what Prince meant. His cross necklace says it all! One just needs to understand English (1st person vs. 3rd person) and symbols. Also, atheists are mad that they were tricked into loving something/someone that/who praises GOD. 😂🙏
@@jdfodio wasn't really any trickery going on. Prince never said he didn't believe in God did he? I believe he's been saying he does all along.
Such an amazing entertainer
The best of the best 😢
I will never get tired of watching this man perform ❤
One of the biggest regrets was never seeing Prince live; cause he never fails to put on an amaze show. Sending chills down your spine.
He was and is the most revolutionary artist to come from that decade & scene 🙏😎
The people in that audience had no clue as to how lucky they were.
IKR standing there looking like scarecrows and sh*t. I bet they realized at some point tho...
nishani3 😄😂😂😂😂😂
Because they were-super-ultra-mega lucky.
Caramel Spice I totally agree with you.
Yes it started 4 me at the Purple Rain Tour in Philly at the Spectrum I went Nuts.
Now I can really cry. welcome back my love!
he was the GOAT💜
Dang I miss you Prince. Simply the best ever. Just Wow!!! Sheila you are onr talented lady. Love you girl. Prince my heart still hurts. Loving you always.
REPEAT.. PRINCE WAS A AMAZING SONG WRITER.
I can imagine being in this crowd ..I'm so sad this musical genius is gone. I will always be a BIG FAN of Prince.. may his memory and long list of incredible music catalog live on forever! 🥺🙏. Wishing Prince a peaceful journey.
Can't get enough of this raw talent and beauty.💜
My God, I love this man and his music. What an artist!
Beautiful man
Face of an Angel, surely
Certainly the voice is Angel blessed
His face is just perfection
He'll never be passed away
Hes only just round the corner
Hi how are you doing nice to meet you 👋👋?
He is the ultimate performer…. Miss you sir ….
Wow...what a performer!
Raulthomas30 one of the best ever next to Michael Jackson.
He gave the best concerts and Sheila's hands were so fast. The lights would cut off and she had sticks that would light and change colors in the dark. Best concert EVER !!😊
She was a badass too! The entire clan was super talented. Simply amazing!!!
@user-bb3wf8qm9x
Sheila took the electric drum sticks, tossed them high in the air, did a triple spin and caught the sticks behind her back with one hand. SIMPLY BADDASS !! 😎
I love him so much it makes my heart hurt 😩☔️💜💟
Me too :(
It’s for my cat Peaches, who passed away in January. Now I’ve had my daily cry. I miss her
Sooo muchI lipstick my babydoll I lost ❤️ love. I know she is here in spirit, but she’ll never come back. I hope and lpray we are together, as happy spirits, in the home we both loved so much. My story worked out today. Everything is better- and this time, it’s true. But I will always beat the scar of hurt, and years of pain and agony. I hope miss Peaches is finally satisfied. I did it all for this perfect 🤩 birthday 🎉 for a perfect little Southern Belle ,my prettiest
Star. She wanted the best for. Mommy. She had a heart ♥️ of gold.
The intro made me tear up😢😢
Prince is an artist that makes the music he wants on his own terms. He settles for nothing less. He is a perfectionist 🎉🎉. But,that's cause he wants his music 🎶 🎵 to move people and make a statement 🎉🎉
Prince, enjoying making music come to life.💜☔
Most fabulous performance of this song. Hands down! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
This is not pop music. Prince is not about that. All of his existence and work. This is invention, refinement, composition, performance, aesthetics, expertise, all on another not just new but upper than yesterday's level...real art
Sheila E is so underrated
So true 👍 👌 😢 👏 🙌 😄 👍 👌 😢 👏 🙌 😄 about Shelley E!
The Absolute,Icon
Hello beautiful 🤗👋👋
Jesus, the man had no boundaries... I saw him. At Earl's Court in 1992 and it was a life-changing moment. They switched the house lights one when everyone had left the arena... He came back on!!! 000's of People... piling back into Earl's court... it was insane
"I Would Die 4 U"
Released: November 28, 1984
[Verse 1]
I'm not a woman, I'm not a man
I am something that you'll never understand
I'll never beat you, I never lie
And if you're evil, I'll forgive you by and by, 'cause
[Chorus]
You, I would die for you, yeah
Darling, if you want me to
You, I would die for you
[Verse 2]
I'm not your lover, I'm not your friend
I am something that you'll never comprehend
No need to worry, no need to cry
I'm your Messiah, and you're the reason why, 'cause
[Chorus]
You, I would die for you, yeah
Darling, if you want me to
You, I would die for you, woo
[Bridge]
You're just a sinner, I am told
Be your fire when you're cold
Make you happy when you're sad
Make you good when you are bad
I'm not a human, I'm a dove
I'm your conscience, I am love
All I really need is to know that you believe
[Chorus]
Yeah, I would die for you, yeah
Darling, if you want me to
You, I would die for you
Yeah, say one more time
You, I would die for you
Darling, if you want me to
You, I would die for you
Two, three, four, you
[Outro]
I would die for you
I would die for you
You, I would die for you
You, I would die for you
