    Dubler - I finally took the plunge with the Black Friday sale, and just hooked it up and tested it out flawlessly with my existing mic and Bitwig... and my whole musical world has changed in an instant. I'm impressed by the simplicity and directness of the app and VST, but more than this, I'm blown away by the way this just dissolves my barriers to making music. I've always had great vocal sense and pitch, but have struggled to learn keyboard. Now, as Bowie put it, Everything Has Changed. Thank you Dubler! For everyone else... consider this a deep recommendation. ^_^

    Nothing is more frustrating for me than going in search of a tutorial, finding one, and then realize that it doesn't give enough details for someone who is brand new to learn how to use the product. Important steps are always missed as though content creators only care about those with some experience and not those who have none and need for every step to be shown and explained.
    In Dubler 2, I used the key tracking for the melody that I am creating, then like him, I moved over to Ableton, picked up my mic and started to hum my melody and of course, nothing happens! Why? Because you don't just click over to Ableton and make sounds into your mic and boom, you get an instrumental melody, like shown in this video. Obviously, there are settings or some kind of steps to be taken before what you're humming is transposed into the instrument of your choice. I mean really, at the moment, I'm only trying to do what is shown in all of the advertisements for Dubler 2 --- People humming and then an instrument following those sounds is created. Why doesn't this video show every step needed to hum your melody into Ableton and create an instrumental melody from it!!! What good is it to someone who has never worked with this software, if that vital information is left out?

      Hi. Very sorry this video didn't have what you were looking for. The set up steps can change depending on what software you are using and we unfortunately can't account for every DAW that is out there in one video. In this video we focus solely on what Dubler can do, however we do have a separate guide for everything you need to get going in Ableton. You can find this video and article here - vochlea.com/tutorials/setting-up-with-ableton-live
      You can also email us at help@vochlea.co.uk if you'd like to arrange a video chat to get help getting started!

    Wait....... so let me make sure I’m clear on this.. The Dubler 1 users ( like me ) paid over $300 to have the unique mic and software and now your charging us $78 dollars for a update which put us over $450 and new users can use there own mic and get the new software for $250.... yeah... 🗑 move!!! Dubler 1 users should have receive the Dubler 2 update for close to nothing just for spending so much the first go around.

      @@AnshDedha $25 is much more fair for people who paid OVER $325 for the mic and Dubler 1 software.. that’s over $400 dollar while the newcomers only have to pay $250 because they have to calibrate their own mic.. so they save $150 like I said 🗑

      The Dubler mic will always be the best-in-class input for Any version of Dubler, and we continue to sell it! There is no obligation to upgrade, and we’ll continue to support Dubler 1! Dubler 1 has been on the market for 2.5 yrs, and like all companies, we’ll release new products periodically. Like everyone, you’re welcome to try the 7-day trial, and if you do decide you’d like to upgrade, you can get it for $78, which is around 30% of the full price.

      @@VochleaMusic the Dubler 1 software is obviously dated if you created a Dubler 2 software 🤦🏽‍♂️ also you’re saying it’s 70% off..... FOR WHO???? People like me already spent over $300 for the mic and the Dubler 1 software so technically no it’s 70% off for existing users. However you’re right we don’t have to update at all. I bought Dubler 1 and I wasn't that impressed and talked some trash about it, but I've just decided to upgrade yesterday, and Dubler 2 works way better. It now does what I wanted Dubler 1 to do. It's too bad that I missed the 40% off on Black Friday, but that's okay. I still have a bit of a latency issue, but I believe that I'll be able to get it sorted out. I can still get it to perform well enough that I can manually fix any mistakes in the piano roll. This will definitely help artists create anything from ideas to full songs. I will now recommend this software. I own the mic, and haven't tried another mic yet, so I can't say how well other mics work. I also want to say that anytime that I've posted an angry comment, their PR team reached out to help, so I can tell that this company cares about customers. I give their customer service 10/10.

And I will obviously need to hear it again, a couple of time and more, because lots of information here for sure. The guy is a great trainer. The challenge seems big for a totally novice in both this revolutionary application and Ableton DAW, but I am very confident. Tip for the Vochlea team: more vids for beginners like me please, simple vids on how to create a simple arrangement! There are several on UA-cam, granted, but most are from/for experienced people - people like me need the 101 step by step approach, like in this video. So, yes, well done, thanks guys!

    My latency is almost a second. I'm using an EV ND357A mic with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and with Focusrite USB ASIO. The midi capture vst is hosted in Ableton live suite with only one instrument, Modo Bass, which only has 0.068 ms latency, which doesn't justify the long latency I'm experiencing

      Hi Scot! You can definitely set Dubler 2 to Chromatic mode when starting out with an idea and then there are a couple of ways that the software will suggest an appropriate key. The first is using our Auto-Key Detect feature that you can find out about more here: ua-cam.com/video/lrOnpHs-OPk/v-deo.htmlsi=aY4FjuxhMhlX-_fV
      The second way is using keys suggested by Dubler's MIDI Capture companion plugin, which we explain in more detail in the 4th minute of this video: ua-cam.com/video/wcuDeFbTPYo/v-deo.htmlsi=VS900lZQqO2m19fq

      @VochleaMusic  3 роки тому +3

      The grace period for free upgrades was up until June 20th, which was 3 months prior to release. Any users who have purchased before this are offered a heavily discounted upgrade price.
      As with other music making software such as Ableton for example, upgrades to the next version (e.g. version 1 to version 2) are offered as a paid upgrade as this allows us to develop the app and add new features. Dubler 1 has been on the market for over 2 years and we have released 3 major free updates to improve the technology in the app from release.
      The team have been working hard on developing Dubler 2 over the last year and we hope it offers some new features you can enjoy. If you do decide to stick with Dubler 1 we'll continue to offer support.

    • @VochleaMusic
      @VochleaMusic  2 роки тому

      Dubler can be set to chromatic to include all notes, however working in a chromatic scale can often result in a lot of unwanted ghost notes. When all notes are available it's very common to accidentally sing slightly flat or sharp, especially in quick runs. Key restrictions help us avoid this, but by all means you can experiment with any notes you like!

      Another tip is lowering the Input Sensitivity knob in the Triggers section if you find that sounds are overlapping. This is especially crucial if you're not working with headphones and Dubler may be picking up audio from your speakers.
      Thirdly, lowering latency is crucial. Make sure that your buffer size in your DAW’s audio preferences is set to 128 or lower.

    • @VochleaMusic
      @VochleaMusic  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, you can put Dubler in chromatic mode, however in order to get clean MIDI out you'd need an almost inhumanely pitch perfect voice as we track your singing in real time. Every wobble away from your intended note would result in an extra notes and so unless you were an incredibly strong singer it would quickly get very messy!
      But we have a number of features that allow you to quickly find the best key, allowing you to focus just on your idea and not whether you're singing is pitch perfect. We have a sing in notes feature on the Key Tab which allows you to sing anything you like (no restrictions) and it will then suggest a number of scales that closest match your melody
      You can find out more on our separate video on Key Restrictions

      @@VochleaMusic Thanks for the response, I’m using the software with a condenser mic but the notes like to bounce all over the place, would using a dynamic microphone yield better results?

    • @VochleaMusic
      @VochleaMusic  2 роки тому +1

      @@prcption8636 Hi, yes dynamic mics are preferable for our use case as they are more suited to pick up focused signal sound, and consequently pick up less background sound. We’re interested in just the detectable triggers and pitch sounds from your voice so a dynamic mic helps eliminate any other sounds that might interfere with detection.
      Condensers on the other hand pick up a lot of more in depth sounds, and are very sensitive compared to dynamics. This is great for recording vocals in lots of detail, but all the unwanted background sounds condensers pick up makes detection in our app slightly more difficult. That’s not to say you can’t have a good experience with a condenser, just the dynamic mic will give more reliable and accurate results.
      Input style also plays a big role in note accuracy but if you want some other tips and tricks for using Dubler feel free to email us at help@vochlea.co.uk and we can also setup a video chat!
