Correction: its not “realtime”. Some parts if the analysis require approx 1s audio chunks to get amplitude for the lowest freq bins. 🎉 That said, NeuralNote is suuuper quick analysis tool!

Just some debugging ideas: What DAW are you using? Do other vst3 plugins appear? Did you check your DAWs plugin manager to see if it gets recognized, or if you need to activate scanning of plugin folder.

Hi, oh it wasn’t clear from the release page but I believe it’s intel x86 atm. When I run it next time I’ll check activity monitor to see what build the service is running. Though I think it would be possible to make an Apple Silicon arm64 build from the source. The plugin ran fine on my M1 Max though, so no worries.
I do have Omnisphere 2, but dunno if it had a fiddle. I have other sample libraries that cover those sounds. Omnisphere does contains some really useful string patches. How come? 😃

Wow. I just fed it half a dozen full songs, and it got 85% of the way there in seconds. I get the impression there's a workflow to be discovered that might be a cheat code to understand what makes a song work in the shortest possible amount of time. Something like converting to midi, auto-assigning the parts to match the instrumentation, then mapping out the chord structure. Maybe the other tools to do this already exist.

@ranveeeer it's great for monophonic melodic stuff. Needs some tweaking for polyphonic, but is still serviceable. Overall very good, and since it's free i'd give it 5/5

At first I was so stoked...but, I'm using Garageband with AU plugin. I tried a non complex keyboard track first and it added a lots of odd notes, also a small window for "Controller"? My friend did the playing, sent me the GB project. I also tried a drumbeat that was used as a click track originally, just kick and snare and it gave me tons of notes too. Your demo had short phrases, I am trying this on a 4:30 song track.
Hey, Maybe first break down that song into separate stems which will be easier for Neural Note to extract the midi. You can extract stems with FL Studios built in AI function. ;)
yes and on the basic pitch website you can adjust the note size and sensitivity , i haven't used the plugin yet , soon, im assuming it has the same functionality. hope so,

I will use it in combination with the Fender Riffstation (now 1.6.3 latest and old version, no maintain anymore) and change the old discontinued app. But it is really good in combination to get melodies from brainstorming records :)
Thank you for this! I put it in another comment, but if you don't want to mess around with pitch correction, maybe a midi filter would help clean up some results in certain cases.
Does your "alternative" DAW find Neural Note? Check if some other app fist find the plugin. If not, it's probably not installed in the correct location.
I Have a question Mattias : i see You use Bitwig and i was wondering how many of the stio version plug ins are missing in the producer version because music is a hoby and i dont want to spent to much on a daw allthough right now i am only looking for a replacement for studio one anyway. Could you do a video on do we realy need the Studio version of bitwig or is producer eddition more then enough. i tested this DAW and produced a track on it called " Tranceformer " ( see in Soundcloud ) and was actualy amased how easy things are with the daw but at that time there was no producer option as is now the case. however i also do a lot of Orieantal scaled music and studio one does not even recognise any samytone in between two full tones , so whenever i quantize the daw turned that into literal shit ( sorry ) : does Bitwig have similar issues ? and is producer more then enough for my needs or anyone elses needs ? i also am trying to find a way to test out ableton standard but seems there is no way to truely test it since you cant do the common stuff such as saving ( so far i understood ) but having made one track with Bitwig kind of tells me this is the DAW to use so in a sumery here is what i need to know plugins - are there major needed plugins that come with Studio excluded from producer - are there any E Guitar related plugins in the producer version and if so how good are they - is the DAW able to recognise oriental tones and music in general as such or does it also quantize them into common scales ( by which melodies get turned into literal trash! ) i would appreciate it if you could give us such a video and i allready subscribed because i like the way how you explain things . I don’t typically rip midi from audio to be honest. 😂🥳 I play by ear what I hear mostly. But back in the day when I tried Melodyne it worked fine. This is super fast though and very straightforward tool to use.
Neural note does not work for me. not even with the simplest audio tracks...I tried it a few times in the past and i just revisited it. Still does not work. Does not recognise the notes properly. picks up mainly some artefacts from the audio instead of the main notes... Tries several settings

I just played with this in Reaper. It installs and runs OK, but annoyingly, you can't feed audio into it from a recorded audio track. You have to render the audio to an actual file and then drop it. This is a quite cumbersome process. It would be a much better tool if it could accept audio input from the DAW like any normal FX plugin. Or am I missing some obvious trick or setting here?

If you want to split full music mix like that you need other software. FL studio can extract stems, which you later can extract the midi from with Neural Note. 👌

I can see this will work great for solo instruments but if you have an ensemble like a Jazz Ensemble with Bass piano and drums and trumpets it jumbles all the melodic sound into one track and doesn't understand the percussion sound at all. I guess we're not fully there yet but this will work well if you want to study a piano concerto.

Also, I have Garage band, and soon the Logic 11. How do I put it into the DAW? I found a banjo, a cello, and a violin I need for specific songs. Yes it captures most data. Try it out, you can adjust how "fine" and granular it should be too.

that's great, but, I have songs, that I lost the midi to, my own songs, how could I get those MIDI files back, from a finished song????
Try Logic Pro / FL Studio stem extraction first. And then run those stems through Neural Note. Might take you close at least.

When you recorded the pitch bend, the setting was on "no pitch bend". I think that was the problem.

Hi, Neural Note is not for realtime audio analysis. So AFTER you have recorded your audio then use the plugin to extract melodies.

If you want to split full music mix like that you need other software. FL studio can extract stems, which you later can extract the midi from with Neural Note. 👌

From what I understand Neural Note is not available as an au3 plugin for iOS, so unfortunately not.

Its for melodic material.
I can see this will work great for solo instruments but if you have an ensemble like a Jazz Ensemble with Bass piano and drums and trumpets it jumbles all the melodic sound into one track and doesn't understand the percussion sound at all. I guess we're not fully there yet but this will work well if you want to study a piano concerto.

HI, I clicked the link, but I don't know which folder I am supposed to download, there are so many. I clicked Mac, but then what? I have a M2 processor. Also, I have Garage band, and soon the Logic 11. How do I put it into the DAW? I found a banjo, a cello, and a violin I need for specific songs. I liked the sound, but I need to make it follow the melody, so I am hoping to use the neural note. Your help is appreciated.
Hey, You need to move the neural note plugin file into it's appropriate folder for your DAW to recognize it. ->
Note: The "appropriate" folder is the folder where your plugin resides.
On Mac OSX it's: Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3
on PC it might be: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
