I can't believe this is free. It's very useful for quickly adding a bass line(s) to guitar parts.
Indeed, the best!
Does it work well for that? That would be the exact reason that I get it
how do you do that? adding a bass line to guitar parts? like you transform your guitar audio into midi and keep only the low notes to use on the bass?
Correction: its not “realtime”. Some parts if the analysis require approx 1s audio chunks to get amplitude for the lowest freq bins. 🎉
That said, NeuralNote is suuuper quick analysis tool!
This looks like a godsend to someone with a musical ear but no theory knowledge. I've recorded so many ideas as voice memos on my phone and never get round to making them into anything because I'm lost in front of a piano Thanks so much!
Absolutely! You can beat this for transcribing such audio memos. 👌🥳🌟
Super cool! I can't believe how well it picked up the picking, chords and sustain! One of the best audio to midi plugin's I've seen yet.
Glad you like it!
Absolutely! I've tried so many I had given up. Cannot believe this is free. Great review.
You have no idea how happy this makes me.
I have been hoping for something like this for YEARS!
I kinda stopped prod and watching prod videos, but I'm glad I found this now as I'm getting back into it.
Is it working bro
Welcome back!
Melodyne!
Thanks for the reminder, that is one I was looking for and forgot about it, until you did this video.
Especially useful (to me) to get old Audio out and MIDI-ize it!
Awesome, very happy to share this reminder. NeuralNote is a no-brainer! Love how easy it is to work with. 🍿😄
Just saw this. Tip of the year for sure!!! Thank you Mattias.
Appreciate it. Glad u like the tip! 🥳
@4:18 looks like it turned the pitch bend into separate notes because the drop-down box is set to "No Pitch Bend"
I've been looking for something like this that in real-time transcribes humming and/or singing to midi notes - that way I can use my voice + mic as a midi controller.
Yeah, NeuralNote is def super useful and should be in everyones music toolbox!
@ZeroKami86 how did you go? I am on the same mission. I need to turn my whistling into a song.
Morning! Wow, what a helpful tool to wake up to on a Sunday morning, I wonder what I'll be doing today? 🥰 Thanks buddy!
Goodmorning. My guess is that you’ll be converting tons of audio loops into midi!? 😂👌🍀🥁
@@MattiasHolmgren Roger that!! 🥳💫🎶🎹
Neural is better than many expensive plugins.
Indeed
Beats dubler lol
@@wyatttheskid $149...lol
What about melodyne
Dropped the .vst3 file on the vst3 folder and doesn’t show up 😞
Just some debugging ideas: What DAW are you using? Do other vst3 plugins appear? Did you check your DAWs plugin manager to see if it gets recognized, or if you need to activate scanning of plugin folder.
@@MattiasHolmgren I’m using logic, other vst3 do appear there, I rescanned all plugins by getting rid of the AudioUnits.cache and still nothing
In some DAWs (like Cakewalk Sonar) the Neural plugin is listed under Audio FX plugin (not as instrument)
Note: The "appropriate" folder is the folder where your plugin resides.
On Mac OSX it's: Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3
on PC it might be: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
Thanks for the heads up
💪🥁😄🎸☕️
Awesome, I was using melodyne. I'll check this out
Great! Lemme know what u think!
Thank you for this. Your accent is fantastic I LOVE IT!
Awesome, thanks! Appreciate it!👌😂💪🥳
@@MattiasHolmgren I can't get cubase to recognise the vst, I've tried it in all plug in folders but no luck! This isnt your problem though !
Tack! Har letat sjukt länge efter nåt sånt här!
Grymt bra!👍
The fact that this is free… and I spent hours today transcribing a song.
Wild
yes it's a killer!
Thank you for this heads-up video.
Any time!
Wow! Thanks, Mattias. I was looking for an audio to MIDI converter, and I came across your video and found this wonderful plugin.
That’s great San Jay! Happy to inspire! 🥳👌🥁
Thank you! Almost buy Vochlea dubler 2! Going to try and see ❤
Cool, Neural Note is free though. Can’t beat that 👌🥳
Great vídeo 🔥💯
Thanks 🙏😄🍀
Actual goat omg 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍
No problem 👍
So, so, so, so, sooooo cool! I was looking for a good program. I even ended up buying one. But I didn't get a good result. However, I added Neural Note to my DAW, and it works like a charm. I loved it! Thank you so much.
(You just gained a follower)
Hey my friend, that's wonderful. I'm so glad you got good results with Neural Note. I think it rocks too! Welcome aboard! Let me know what you think about my other videos! 🍿😃🌞
Thanks for your video ,Mattias.I want to ask you about how and where to register my music in Sweden? One can register with ASCAP In USA but how can one do it in Scandinavia?
In sweden we register music with STIM and SAMI.
@@MattiasHolmgren Thanks a lot,Mattias.
This is gonna be great for piecing apart songs for learning
Indeed, super userful
Does this work for Garageband?
Very cool. Need to download this ASAP. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely, NeuralNote is a winner! I’m still baffled it’s free. Kudos to the hard working coders!👌🍉
My mind just thinking bas lines basslines will forever now be easy, and Reaper Daw is some wonder to work with midi, like none else.
there was a pitch bend option _ which i think was off .... would it work with BENDS if turned on ?
I found it before and have no time to test it. But this is very good to see how it works. Thanks. I will use it in combination with the Fender Riffstation (now 1.6.3 latest and old version, no maintain anymore) and change the old discontinued app. But it is really good in combination to get melodies from brainstorming records :)
Awesome! Can't wait to try it out. Great T-shirt btw
How did it work?
@ranveeeer it's great for monophonic melodic stuff. Needs some tweaking for polyphonic, but is still serviceable. Overall very good, and since it's free i'd give it 5/5
Awesome! Super easy and efficient. Thank you!
You are welcome 👌
An interesting plugin. I want to try to apply it in my work. I have been looking for the possibility of such a conversion for a long time. Thank you for reviewing the relevant and necessary information!.Good luck!
NeuralNote is definitely a useful plugin. It's really sweet we get it for free! So many useful tools coming out these days. Happy to share! Thanks for writing!
👏🏻 Another great video. Thank you!
You are so welcome! Appreciate the feedback! 😄
Exciting plugin! Thanks for sharing. Great content.
Thanks! 🙏👌😄
How does it handle vocals?
I only did a few tests and it worked fine after some param adjustments. Very helpful tool. Give it a try! 👌😄
Do you have something like Omnisphere that can work to make 1) a banjo, 2) a fiddle 3) a cello 4) string section?
I do have Omnisphere 2, but dunno if it had a fiddle. I have other sample libraries that cover those sounds. Omnisphere does contains some really useful string patches. How come? 😃
@@MattiasHolmgren One song is country, and screams banjo and fiddle. Another song I need a sad cello, sad violin, etc a la Chappell Roan in Tiny desk concert.
What is the appropriate folder we're supposed to put it in after downloading? Just never installed something without an installer before!
The "appropriate" folder is the folder where your plugin resides. On Mac OSX it's: Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3 Rarely used: Users/your username/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3. on PC it might be: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
Thank you so much!!! @@MattiasHolmgren
U art welcome 😄💪🥁
Thanks 4 the vid Mattias, amazing stuff there, it's seems to be working as its best with monophonic tracks. I'll will try it to with complex guitar solos, although the bending issue might be a problem.
Thanks, well it will probably be messy with more intricate and complex lines. But it's quite potent with simpler lines. Very impressive!
Thank you for this! I put it in another comment, but if you don't want to mess around with pitch correction, maybe a midi filter would help clean up some results in certain cases.
You are welcome! 🥳Yeah you can def experiment with extra midi filters.
Hi Mattias, thank you for this great video !
Do you know if the mac version of the plugin is U2B, so it is arm64 compatible and works natively on Apple Silicon macs ?
Kind regards from Holland.
Hi, oh it wasn’t clear from the release page but I believe it’s intel x86 atm. When I run it next time I’ll check activity monitor to see what build the service is running. Though I think it would be possible to make an Apple Silicon arm64 build from the source. The plugin ran fine on my M1 Max though, so no worries.
@@MattiasHolmgren Hi Mattias, great, thank your for your help !
I've tried to add on different computers & Windows Defender is always telling me not to allow the install, so I haven't installed, has anyone else encountered this?
Thank you fro South Afrika!!!!!
U are welcome!
I've tried to convert a drum audio and nothing happened, what can I do? Thanks
What about mixed full drum wavs with 5 channels? Kick snare etc will it selerate each track?
Give it a try!
does this work with chords as well ? is it able to identify chord progression with each note of the chord ?
Yes it captures most data. Try it out, you can adjust how "fine" and granular it should be too.
May I know why its not working on my Loxic pro 11?
thanks for video, plugin is free and easy to use
It sure is! Extracting midi couldn’t be easier!
Thanks a lot!
You're welcome!
Dubler is not a sample midi converter..Its totally different,i have it and love it..
This is amazing, thank you. I have a question: does it works with drums and/or beats?
Try it, but it's probably more accureate on melodic material. Which is what it is designed for.
Hello, how do you install it?
nice work dude love it
I'm glad you like it
This Ai take over!!! I’m here for it!!!
It's the beginning of a new universe within a universe.
im using garageband, how do i add neuralnote as a plugin?
thank you
Beautiful! Thanks bro!
Thanks 🎉
Whoa. Super impressive! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Unfortunately in logic I cant drag and drop audio files into the plugin.. so no better than just using the standalone. Am i missing something?
I Have a question Mattias : i see You use Bitwig and i was wondering how many of the stio version plug ins are missing in the producer version because music is a hoby and i dont want to spent to much on a daw allthough right now i am only looking for a replacement for studio one anyway. Could you do a video on do we realy need the Studio version of bitwig or is producer eddition more then enough. i tested this DAW and produced a track on it called " Tranceformer " ( see in Soundcloud ) and was actualy amased how easy things are with the daw but at that time there was no producer option as is now the case. however i also do a lot of Orieantal scaled music and studio one does not even recognise any samytone in between two full tones , so whenever i quantize the daw turned that into literal shit ( sorry ) : does Bitwig have similar issues ? and is producer more then enough for my needs or anyone elses needs ? i also am trying to find a way to test out ableton standard but seems there is no way to truely test it since you cant do the common stuff such as saving ( so far i understood ) but having made one track with Bitwig kind of tells me this is the DAW to use so in a sumery here is what i need to know
plugins
- are there major needed plugins that come with Studio excluded from producer
- are there any E Guitar related plugins in the producer version and if so how good are they
- is the DAW able to recognise oriental tones and music in general as such or does it also quantize them into common scales ( by which melodies get turned into literal trash! )
i would appreciate it if you could give us such a video and i allready subscribed because i like the way how you explain things . Thank You
Mind blowing technologies, I’m not sure what will happen in 10 years. Thank you for your video! I am looking something which can convert music sheets to midi, can you recommend something?
Yeah this year is gonna be mindblowing. Not to talk about 10 years. Phew! 🥳🎸Hmm music sheets, like a note sheet pdf to midi comverter?☕️
@@MattiasHolmgren yes note sheet in pdf format
This is an awesome plugin and great minds think alot! Did my review a while back and got great results as well. Love the vid and glad to have found the channel. Subbed! Blessings! 💯
Awesome thanks for tuning in. 😄☕️
Neural note does not work for me. not even with the simplest audio tracks...I tried it a few times in the past and i just revisited it. Still does not work. Does not recognise the notes properly. picks up mainly some artefacts from the audio instead of the main notes... Tries several settings
that's great, but, I have songs, that I lost the midi to, my own songs, how could I get those MIDI files back, from a finished song????
Try Logic Pro / FL Studio stem extraction first. And then run those stems through Neural Note. Might take you close at least.
How do yo install this?? ? Someone help please
That was helpful, Thanks
gamechanger move
HI, I clicked the link, but I don't know which folder I am supposed to download, there are so many. I clicked Mac, but then what? I have a M2 processor. Also, I have Garage band, and soon the Logic 11. How do I put it into the DAW? I found a banjo, a cello, and a violin I need for specific songs. I liked the sound, but I need to make it follow the melody, so I am hoping to use the neural note. Your help is appreciated.
Hey, You need to move the neural note plugin file into it's appropriate folder for your DAW to recognize it. ->
Note: The "appropriate" folder is the folder where your plugin resides.
On Mac OSX it's: Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3
on PC it might be: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
When you recorded the pitch bend, the setting was on "no pitch bend". I think that was the problem.
Yeah, when active it will record the pitch bends too. I noticed later 😂🥳
Does it works with strumming patterns to?
Sure try it!
Its not connecting to my mixcraft 9 pro.. no neuralnote plug in
Does your "alternative" DAW find Neural Note? Check if some other app fist find the plugin. If not, it's probably not installed in the correct location.
thanks a lot for this - extremely useful information!
You are welcome, its an awesome plugin! Free is always handy too 🏆
thanks a lot, it's probably one of the best between the many tried
Yeah Neural Note totally rips! 🏆💪
I can see this will work great for solo instruments but if you have an ensemble like a Jazz Ensemble with Bass piano and drums and trumpets it jumbles all the melodic sound into one track and doesn't understand the percussion sound at all. I guess we're not fully there yet but this will work well if you want to study a piano concerto.
Run it through UVR
is the plugin still free? thanks for sharing✌🏿
Yes still (always) free! 👌
Greetings! What pad and pen are you using for your mouse? Thanks
Oh I always use a Wacom Intous Pro (medium size is best IMHo) 👌🥳💪
I just played with this in Reaper. It installs and runs OK, but annoyingly, you can't feed audio into it from a recorded audio track. You have to render the audio to an actual file and then drop it. This is a quite cumbersome process. It would be a much better tool if it could accept audio input from the DAW like any normal FX plugin. Or am I missing some obvious trick or setting here?
It's very nice video but pls tell me sir how to convert full song into midi i tried but all track playing in one track even drums also in same track can you pls suggest me how to split seperate tracks
If you want to split full music mix like that you need other software. FL studio can extract stems, which you later can extract the midi from with Neural Note. 👌
@@MattiasHolmgren thank you very much sir but pls tell me is it possible to convert full MP3 song into midi ?I mean complete song into midi is it possible Sir in neutral notes software?
Is it possible to make midi of multiple track at one time?
Thank you bro. Great help. Anyway, I wonder is there any Bitwig built-in pitch corrector? Like Melodyne or Newtone in FL?
Hi, sorry, there is no pitch-correction like melodyne/flex pitch/newtone /variaudio in Bitwig current version 5.
@@MattiasHolmgren Sad. but Thank you👍
So awesome. Glad I subscribed to your channel, good Sir. Thank you! 👍

Very useful. 👍
PS: Want to try write bass parts on guitar and convert it into midi.
Setup and tried this plugin - and it's works very cool, and free.
Perfect. :)
Glad it helped!
is it possible to convert in real time? like while playing the guitar it detects it as a MIDI
No, its not for real time conversion.
Thanks a lot.
That's damn impressive!
NeuralNote is great! 👌
how do i get microphone input? im recording and the plugin wont pick up any input from my microphone
Hi, Neural Note is not for realtime audio analysis. So AFTER you have recorded your audio then use the plugin to extract melodies.
Thank you so much for this.
Cheers!
You are welcome 😊🎉
Looks nice, but after downloading it I'm super frustrated: no matter in whatever plugin folder I put the "NeuralNote.vst3", it doesn't appear in my DAW!! ☹ (I'm using Studio One Pro without any problems otherwise...)
What OS? Make sure the vst3 is in the correct location / folder! Also run plugin manager and rescan for new plugins (if necessary)… just some ideas to try!
@@MattiasHolmgren Thanks a lot for taking your time to answer me (and so quick!), but I already tried that; put that thing into _several_ folders (all of which contain plugins I use without any problem); rescanned and even restarted the whole program a number of times - nothing worked...
Then I tried the Standalone Version - that _did_ work, but totaly inaccurate: the midi file is way longer than the audio file and so it is, of course, totally not in sync... (Interestingly, I got the same result when trying out to do that _online_ on an AI page...)
Really frustrating; especially since it looks so easy in your video. ^^
Oh, and my OS is Windows 10.
@@MattiasHolmgren P.S.: In the beginning you mentioned that some DAWs have this exact function on board already - is there any _free_ DAW among these?
@@geronomina6395 hmmm it’s been a while since I played around with free DAWs. So I have no idea.
@@MattiasHolmgren Okay...

Its a must have! 🌞💪
Can this plugin work with FLstudio?
Yes any DAW that supports third party vsts.
will not open on macbook air M! because it was not downloaded from App Store but it is not on App Store. Solution, anyone?
Download Neural note AU, it’s a component (plugin) file, just install it in the audio plugins/components folder and your daw / music software will find it.
this is the best I have seen ... thanks
Agree extremely good plug!!
I try to download that and it says cannot download cause its not from the app store. When I go to the app store it can not be found. I have a mac mini os Sonoma 14
There's a software in the App Store that's just as functional as it is called Audio-MIDI. There is no real-time recording function, which is more streamlined but runs faster. You can give it a try.
how is it compared to melodyne? i usually just try to keep everything midi, cuz melodyne transcriptions usually suck
I don’t typically rip midi from audio to be honest. 😂🥳 I play by ear what I hear mostly. But back in the day when I tried Melodyne it worked fine. This is super fast though and very straightforward tool to use.
How to convert midi only piano without drum etc??
First use stem separation, its free with FL studio 21.2 😄
@@MattiasHolmgren thank you sir
I wish there was an AAX version, but I can work with standalone....
