Thanks, surely I will! Have had a Citizen titanium for several years. OK, it's slightly lighter than steel, but that's about it! It is equally inconvenient in the summerheat AND it gets scratched very easily, way faster than the steel, I'd say. Not worth the extra $$$ IMO, but enjoy your titanium anyway.
Just ordered a full metal one in black yesterday. My first G-Shock, hopefully it's not a disappointment. The stainless look is gorgeous, but for my collection it just made more sense to buy this one in black.
I first become enamored with orient, then seiko, then citizen...now digital Casio squares! This watch obsession never ends and my amazon wish list continues to grow. That 5600 is one stellar looking watch.
I got the GWB5600BC as a daily beater after watching this video. The GMWB5000 and its resin band brother will stay in my display case. I think the GWB5600BC is the sweet spot g shock right now with the combination of the latest module incased with the resin bezel and bracelet means I don't care on scratching it up while also giving it an upgraded feel from my regular work G-5600E-1DR. Since watching your vids after my old GD-100 needed a new battery I have been bitten by the square bug and amassed a collection of 12 square g shocks! And this coming from a guy who never collected watches or even took notice of them. Not sure if I should thank you or not but keep up the good content as I look forward to your future g shock square reviews even if it's at the detriment of my back account.
I bought both 👍🏼 they work well together. The stainless Steel one I use like a dress watch and the plastic one I use as a beater. I prefer the all plastic bracelet to the old half plastic half metal one. It’s more comfortable and lighter. The stainless one is a must if you love squares 👍🏼
Update: some months ago, I bought the resin combi version with gold positive display. It's a great watch, so light and comfortable and very useful. I still hanker after a full metal version, though.
Update 2: I bought the beautiful blue IP bezel GMWB5000 in mid 2020. It's on my wrist every day, and switches over to the resin and gold GWB5600 for active wear.
My wife got me the stainless steel for Father’s Day. It’s my first Casio and I’m truly in love with this time piece. She wanted to buy me a 1k watch but it was my first one ever and I didn’t want nothing to fancy but I was wrong. I didn’t expect this much craftsmanship into it. I might want another one
Thanks for making entertaining yet informative G-Shock reviews and tutorials. It made me appreciate G-Shock watches and triggered me to get my first one. Not an easy decision however, but your videos helped a lot. Already before owning one I can see the appeal in building a collection. My favorites so far are: GW-6900 (sadly not available in Europe), GMW-B5000 (just got lucky with a 20% discount for the stainless steel version, will arrive tomorrow) & MTG-B2000D-1AER.
Definitely agree with you on the very cheap plastic feel of the 5600 band. I opted for the all steel due to the heft, bigger pushers, and just the feel of something heavy and flat on my wrist.
Bought the combo bracelet to wear on my 5600BB and it’s one of the most comfortable bracelets imo It’s a bit of a pain to attach but feels and looks awsome once it’s on
I'm picking up the resin one, and found out that on Aliexpress there is a metal case and bracelet for $50 I will install on it. Best of both worlds! I'll post a video of the process on my UA-cam channel!
Nice video! To me a g-shock watch will always be about being cheap & sturdy. The steel version is starting to go away from that a little too much for me. If you care too much about dings and scratches it's not really a tool watch anymore. Same as a Rolex sub isn't a dive watch. That depends a lot on your budget as well of course.
I own the gold stainless steel version and I love it. So much so that I'm picking up the titanium cameo version shortly. I'm also thinking of making an offer to my dealer for the SS version as well as the Titanium cameo version. Well see if he takes $1800 for both. Oh, as far as the price goes, there was once a time when Rolex was an affordable tool watch and now look at them. I think GShock has reached the point in their storied history where they can successfully offer these types of luxury timepieces. I'm hooked on these SS and titanium square watches.
stephen voorhis What are your thoughts on it Stephen, after you’ve spent a week or so with it? Also, does the negative display have that purple tint to it you can sometimes see in this video?
@@dustycups Hello, I still love this watch. Very light and comfortable with this bracelet. No there is no purple tint on the screen that I can tell. It is probably from the camera sensor purple fringing. Hope this helps.
Hi Watch Geek. I went with the steel model. It was very hard to come by. And the pricing is very hefty for g shock. But........ IT'S SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL ON THE WRIST!!!!!! ;) There are a couple of downsides though: the watch has slight problems with receiving the atomic signal. And after a certain time the received sign on the display disappears again,so its hard to tell if it worked. Another thing is the loudness of the alarm. I guess it's because of the steel casing, that the alarm is too silent to really make an affect. These two issues bug me about the new square g-shock. Frank
Casio needs to install the STN displays in these. I have the same one in black and the GW-5000U with the screw back in positive display, love them both. I also have the GW-9400 in positive display.
I would love to add to my collection the GMW-B5000 but It's just way too expensive for me now, the GW-B5600 in the other hand is So much cheaper in comparison, in my opinion the GW-B5600 looks awesome all black with the composite bracelet, just for the looks It justifies the negative screen.
I have a really important question: can you swap modules between these 2 watches? Module and solar panels or at least the module. I'm interested in modding. Can you try it out? Thanks!
The solid gold model did end up getting produced with the same module as the GMW-B5000. Only 35 were made for the 35th anniversary celebrations and each cost $60,000 a pop.
Dumb question: Does anyone know about getting the full metal square under water and taking it out and later how well the resin under the bezel manages to resist the humidity? I ask because as far as I imagine having the module covered with resin and then the resin covered with the metal bezel might create many layers where moisture and water would take longer to dry Thank you
Just curious, how do you know the charge level of the solar charged battery? They are not like the GMW 5610 with the LMH letters on the face. I prefer the resin over the steel. Better suited for rugged activities.
Just got the DW5035 square and I feel like the module is lacking (basic module without solar). What are your thoughts and getting a GWB5600 and switching the module and combi strap over to my 5035? Will they fit/work? I want to keep the metallic screen on the 5035 as well
@watchgeek I am wondering if there are plans for a GW5000 with all the functionality of these two modules? I own the GWB56000 but find it too light but then I find the GMWB5000 too 'loud.....' I'd get a GW5000 but I like the time showing when in timer or stopwatch function, the ability swap day date AND being able to use the bluetooth....any thoughts?! Is there one I've missed?
I actually bought the b5000 and returned it (if your in the u.k F.Hinds are selling these at £399) while for the g shock collectors i can see the fascination but to buy and wear i honestly dont think the value is there, the bracelet felt super cheap, the polished parts are way too shiny, i can totally see why some people would love it, but it wasnt for me
The steel one is definitely cool, but for regular wear I think it would be too blingy and heavy. I'd also worry about beating it up, even though it is a g-shock. The one with the combi bracelet is definitely more my style for regular wear.
Would you mind comparing the visibility of the display of GW-B5600BC-1B vs GW-M5610BC-1? Are the same in terms of visibility? Or does the blue background of the GW-B5600 help make the display "pop" more?
I own a GBA 800 and the visibility of the digits on that watch are far more visible than on the 5610 BC. Mostly, due to the fact that the background on the BC is black and the background on the GBA is blue. I feel like this makes the difference, but that is the only live comparisons I have. Do you have more negative watches (I know you are not a fan of them) to compare with in terms of angles, lighting and visibility?
Ok. Thanks for letting me know. I bought my GBA first. I started to enjoy the negative display so much that I really got into them. When I saw the 5610 I knew I had to have it. I read the reviews saying it’s hard to read but I ignored them cause I could read the GBA just fine. When I got the 5610 I was really disappointed. I think it needs to be more commonly understood there is quite the difference between the negative displays. Which was annoying to realize after buying the watch. I’ll still wear it. But hopefully this watch fixes the problem.
Lovely shots of the Steel Version, WG, I almost think I like it. But that negative display on the resin one is just as bad as it was on my GWX-5600C. A shame, really, because Casio CAN make a good negative display (see GA-800B). Zs
Imo GW-B5600 is the best available g-shock on the market right now. It has best tech wrapped in iconic and simple g-shock square case. Even if I wouldn't be lucky to get this one from giveaway I'll buy it for myself soon anyway.
Awesome review mate! Sure cleared up the differences but I'm sure theres still someone out there who wants to know how badly the all metal G gets scratched? I can't get over the mindset of an average Ahole! I mean how can you even see the all metal G to be a beater watch? It's a collector's item to be worn and cared for like a luxury watch! It feels like a luxury watch and looks like a luxury watch. You cant fix your bike or do gardening or change a tyre on the car with the all metal G as it WILL GET SCRATCHED!
Whoa. Great comparison! I didn’t expect to see that the link is full resin plastic. Thats quite a disappointment. Gosh. Maybe I should just grab the basic resin strap instead in this case 🤔. Unless, I won the giveaway!! Then no problem. 😃🙏 Great video as always. 👍🏻
The links actually have metal inside then as I can see it where the springbars sit. I am guessing there is an H shaped skeleton that is then surrounded with plastic
Fine Resin Composite Bracelet/Band is Resin outer part and steel/metal inside so it is as tough as the steel band but lighter. Just like what is in the GA-1000FC or GWA-1000FC. I have the GA-1000FC it feels good in my wrist. I think it's better than the steel band and more comfortable to wear. But I like the design of the composite band in the GA/GWA-1000FC than the band on GW-B5600
Actually, I have both of them as of now, these exact same models, also have created an unofficial BLE sync app for KaiOS 2.5.x for them, called RCVD (see the announcement on BananaHackers forum). The GMW-5000D has springbar-based bracelet making link adjustment much easier with nothing but a smartphone SIM pin. The screwback also looks fantastic and eliminates one more point of weakness (those tiny bolts). I don't know how I will like the GMB-2100BD that will come to me in a month, but among pure-digital models, if I were to only leave a single G-Shock in my collection, it would be the GMW. At least until I can afford the MRG.
Hey, can you tell us if any of these watches has vibration alerts? My phone is on permanent silent mode because of work and i can't feel its vibrations, so up to now i use a xiaomi mi band 2 on my right hand for that. I otherwise hate smartwatches. So I want to stop using it and only have the casio. Right now i have the GW-M5610 but sync doesn't work because radio signal is faint in Greece.
@@stephenchandra5955 thank you for mentioning that, but i would like a solar powered watch with bluetooth and vibration alerts. I already own the GW-M5610 and a xiaomi mi band 2. If i were to change, i'd like something that combines them both and does not cost a fortune. Casio has a solar smartwatch but it cost something like 1000 euros.
Wouldn't it have looked more rugged and beautiful if they had kept it all brushed steel (like the area around the dial)? For sure in my opinion. Thank you for your review!
@@WatchGeek I couldn't resist sending a mail to Casio's European Headquarters on the above topic...and I got answer, so there's hope! Here's an excerpt of their answer: "....Your comments will be forwarded to our product development centre in Japan. Shame that they made them bigger than the older squares. Should have made the buttons bigger instead like on the all metal square. I'm not sure if mine will fit my 6,5" wrist when it arrives.
@@WatchGeek Sorry, should've been more specific. That's what I meant by older square as these are the successors to the 5610. If there will be a next 5610 in smaller size, then I will be happy.
Hello fellow Slav! Although I love the look of the full metal square GMW-B5000, I would love even more to wear on a daily basis GW-B5600BC-1BER on my wrist. ...but with a positive display, just like I'm wearing right now the regular GW-M5610-1. BTW, great collection and great channel. 👍 Keep up the good work! Pozdravi! 👋
Haha great to hear. If you decide to go for the black one, I will be doing a giveaway when the channel reaches 20K so stay tuned if you like the videos and who know... You might be the one who wins it
hello sir, nice review... the best resin watch so far. really love those combi bracelet... thank you for this review. i wish i get that watch giveaway... cheers. :)
Pozdrav. Jako mi se sviđa Vaš kanal. Trebao bih za savjet. Planiram kupiti Casio GW-B5600-2ER. Molio bih za Vaš savjet u vezi ovog modela, gdje ga mogu kupiti u Hrvatskoj kod ovlaštenog dilera ili online kupovina, što se više isplati ili što je bolje? Unaprijed se zahvaljujem. Pozdrav.
I like the bracelet, got the exact same model as you. For me it's more purposeful than a steel one. Still, I wouldn't mind a nice 5000 BT square in titanium.
Not only do I not afford something like this, but I would appreciate a return to inner metal and outer "plastic" (resin/polymer or whatever.. ) models as the original was in 1983.. And I'm talking about the "default" standard models, not the special editions only.. Also I would appreciate the reduced weight due to the "plastic"/polymer/resin outer casing.
The black one is very comfy and I actually tought it was lighter then my similar watch that is 54 g insted of this that was 80 g on my scale after removing some links.
Not sure I posted this in the right place but I’m confused. Amazon shows gwm5610 for $127, eBay where I buy watches lists it for almost $200. I find this very strange. Is there an advantage to buying Japan in quality etc over the Amazon??? As usual Thank you
You forgot to mention the much improved STN display on the metal that the resin models do not have. And what i really like on these newer models is that we can finally change away from the american date format of mm/dd. Most of the world uses the dd/mm format. This has been one of the biggest flaws in G-Shocks for decades!
I agree on the date switch, I immediately changed it on mine 😀. The STN is cool but I think it's advantage is visible in negative screens more. Although they increase viewing angle, my GWS5600 looks clearer when looking straight at the face of the watch
@@WatchGeek Unfortunately I have to disagree with you regarding the display. I have lately made a comparison on my channel of 8 different square G-Shocks and GMW-B5000D was definitely the best looking display in means of contranst and viewing angles. Interesting fact is that GW-S5600-1, GW-5000-1 and GW-M5610-1 use exactly the same display (the same Casio part number 10322999), but I agree that out of these three, the GW-S5600-1 has the best readability.

can you make a video covering all G-Shock with metal-looking straps? :o
MrDudezProductionz it’s not sapphire on any square G Shock. It’s because sapphire crystal is more brittle. They have sapphire on some of the bigger models where they have been designed to have sapphire from the start.
@@leeharding8306 The brittle reason is absolutely BS I gave never smashed a watches screen on any off my watches including divers but gave scratched the crap out out of it! For this price its not exceptable...

I love it!!! The precisely Day i was looking to order on Amazon, i finished buying another Monster ☺️
Imo GW-B5600 is the best available g-shock on the market right now. It has best tech wrapped in iconic and simple g-shock square case. Even if I wouldn't be lucky to get this one from giveaway I'll buy it for myself soon anyway.
I love the negative display🥰
Nice review. Was planning to get DW-5600BB then GWB-5600BC appeared in your history of Squares... *sight* btw: Where you got yours from? Japan import?
Yes, Japan import
Bought them for my bd ^^ You are responsible! :P Thx for tutorial video! Love the watch (wish they had big buttons tho)
Congrats 😊
I'm about to get addicted to g shocks.
This is happening to me.
Me too !
No vibrations
no, vibration alerts. but if you want gshock square that has Bluetooth and vibration alerts . why not get Casio G-Shock gb 5600 series
@@stephenchandra5955 thank you for mentioning that, but i would like a solar powered watch with bluetooth and vibration alerts. I already own the GW-M5610 and a xiaomi mi band 2. If i were to change, i'd like something that combines them both and does not cost a fortune. Casio has a solar smartwatch but it cost something like 1000 euros.
oh, I c . what you meant. (pro trek wsd f30) … … ehmmm ...ehemm
Now that their isn't gonna be atomic time in the U.S. If I wanted to would I be able to put this Bluetooth module in my GW5000 1-jf later?
I don't know
On my iPhone I use the app Clock Wave to sync the atomic time. With it I can sync anytime anywhere.
Watching this with my gw b5600. But my problem is where can I find my battery lvl? This my first square g shock.
The battery level is visible on the phone in the app when you pair that watch
@@WatchGeek thank you
You're welcome 😊
Wouldn't it have looked more rugged and beautiful if they had kept it all brushed steel (like the area around the dial)? For sure in my opinion.
Thank you for your review!
Exactly my opinion
I really hope casio releases a brushed version of this watch one day. Only thing holding me back from buying it is the blingy-ness.
@@dankestranch8738 Same here
@@WatchGeek I couldn't resist sending a mail to Casio's European Headquarters on the above topic...and I got answer, so there's hope!
Here's an excerpt of their answer:

What if i can only afford 1? Which 1 should i buy?
If you can only one, get the black one and keep the rest of the money
Where we buy?
Shame that they made them bigger than the older squares. Should have made the buttons bigger instead like on the all metal square. I'm not sure if mine will fit my 6,5" wrist when it arrives.
They are not bigger than regular squares only the GWM5610
@@WatchGeek Sorry, should've been more specific. That's what I meant by older square as these are the successors to the 5610. If there will be a next 5610 in smaller size, then I will be happy.
I agree with that 😊
Hello fellow Slav!
Pozdravi! 👋
Pozdrav and thanks for tuning in 😁
timely video, been looking at both of these :)
Haha great to hear. If you decide to go for the black one, I will be doing a giveaway when the channel reaches 20K so stay tuned if you like the videos and who know... You might be the one who wins it
I might buy the steel version after New Year's.
hello sir, nice review... the best resin watch so far. really love those combi bracelet... thank you for this review. i wish i get that watch giveaway... cheers. :)
Pozdrav. Jako mi se sviđa Vaš kanal. Trebao bih za savjet. Planiram kupiti Casio GW-B5600-2ER. Molio bih za Vaš savjet u vezi ovog modela, gdje ga mogu kupiti u Hrvatskoj kod ovlaštenog dilera ili online kupovina, što se više isplati ili što je bolje? Unaprijed se zahvaljujem. Pozdrav.
Good video
I guess I missed the give away
Gonna have to buy it
There will be more giveaways, every 10K subs i do one 😉
first i hit the like button ,then i watch the video (just to make sure i won't forget )
Haha thanks 😊
.... after you watch you’ll buy both watches like me. Lol
Great video again. Love Gshocks and your channel....
Thanks 😊
Nice review. I like g-shock classic models. For me, GMW-B5000 is little too shiny and little pricey.
I have small wrist? Can we remove bracelet link on gw b5600
Yes
I like the bracelet, got the exact same model as you. For me it's more purposeful than a steel one. Still, I wouldn't mind a nice 5000 BT square in titanium.
Does the watch show notifications from your phone like text messages or emails?
Nope
I hope they sell that composite bracelet separately at some point. I like the new design and would like to mod my GWM5610-1.
It's not composite bracelet it's just a bracelet! Composite means made from more than one material this isn't its just SS!
The black one is not SS, it is a combination of resin and SS, so it is COMPOSITE
I have the all metal and other casio watches they are all good .
I like the black one❗️
Not sure I posted this in the right place but I’m confused. Amazon shows gwm5610 for $127, eBay where I buy watches lists it
for almost $200. I find this very strange. Is there an advantage to buying Japan in quality etc over the Amazon??? As usual Thank you
No advantage at all, make sure you are looking at the same models
@@WatchGeek hvala
Is the Boulder Atomic Clock ending in 2019?
Nope
@@WatchGeek Thanks !!!
what is the function of phone finder ?
Lol and they say we are getting smarter! 😂
Does anybody here has a GOLD one for a while?
How does the gold plating is handling?
Is the crystal Sapphire on the steel one? All in all, it a great collector's watch. I think the G Shock Steel is a good alternative to it.
Thx for your review. Let's face it, any Casio G-Shock will be snapped up by its fans!
Love this timeless Casio squares...
