Well well well!!! First of all! Beautifully shot, well narrated and I came out wanting the square one even though I already own it! We all know G shock are not meant to hide under a cuff! You rocked both! How come it’s me that’s spent millions buying Casios to review and it’s you who Casio chooses to send watches to?!?! Life just ain’t fair!?!? Brilliant show ;)
Dear Mr. Madwatchcollector, we thought to make you brand ambassador and deliver a full truck of our watches at your place, but we were secretly informed by a f..... person close to you, that there is no more space in your cabinet for all the beauty we had planned to deliver to you. Sadly we had to redirect our truck to Bristol. Sincerely, CASIO Watches, UK
That mid vid update made me so happy. The whole time I'm watching like "She can totally pull that off, oversized is fire". Glad you came to the same conclusion
I have about 25 watches in my collection. And previously I mostly wore the mechanical ones. But since my son started his studies in the US the GMW-B5000D-1E became my the most worn watch. It’s second time zone mode is more convenient than my mechanical GMTs and world timer.
Britt, great take esp about being what a true stainless steel sports watch should be. I’ve owned my steel square in the bracelet for 2 years and even as an avid Watch enthusiast I’m having trouble justifying purchasing another watch. My full metal G is too good! More of my experience: 1) I scratched the mineral crystal but only once. The raised bezel does a good job of protecting it. 2) If you have the wrist for it (mine is 18cm) the semi-fixed endlinks prevent the watch from rolling off the edge of the wrist allowing me to wear it a tad looser. 3) I love the Bluetooth and having the time accurate to the second. 4) the build quality is top notch. All steel and I like that it will probably outlive me. Can’t say that for many other gshocks.
I’ve owned the all metal square you presented since launch day in 2018 when they were impossible to get and I’ve beaten the watch to HELL and back and the crystal is perfect.. and I mean it’s been my daily watch for 5 years. You shoulda seen how hyped the release was for the all metal square. They were GONE day 1. I went through hell to get mine lol. I live in New Hampshire and drove an hour and a half to Boston mass for mine.
All the titanium versions have sapphire crystals. I highly recommend you check out the GMW-B5000TCC - it's probably the most beautiful of the titanium ones. It's beauty is very hard to see in pictures, in person it is mesmerizing, and made in trantixxii titanium. The titanium squares really feel high-end with their inventive material science, sapphire crystals and lightness.
First, I thoroughly enjoy your content. Your inclusiveness, yet still sharing your opinion is my favorite trait in your reviews. Keep it up! Second, at 5:24, I agree, setting a watch can sometimes be a ball-ache. Never heard on a watch-review. Love it! Finally, I agree with editing Britt! You can absolutely rock the square!
This was a great review, used to use a M5610, but got the full metal classic square and WHAT a difference, it is honestly such an upgrade, the new led, updated software, the new screen, and it's just such a fantastic watch, plus that 22 months of charge? AMAZING!
Square looks great on ya Britt. I’ve got the square in rose gold colour. Going to wear it out tonight with the chaps for a couple of cheeky swift’uns. Love it.
Great review. I got my FMS in 2018 when it was first introduced. But I too thought it was a bit too big for my 16cm wrist for the same reasons you mentioned. Even after purchasing it, I contemplated in letting it go. But after adjusting the bracelet, I found the right balance. I usually like watches to wear snug on my wrist but with this I've found that it wears better on my wrist when worn a little loosely. When doing so, the lugs/end links that protude out don't bother me as much. So that's how I wear and I'm glad I kept the watch. It's my daily watch. It's very versatile in various fashion styles and especially comes in handy when travelling. I enjoy your videos so pls keep it coming.
Great to see you dive into G-SHOCKs. The addictive beauty of this brand is that they offer options for collectors of every income bracket, which is why people obsess over them. I think you'd dig the full titanium/sapphire glass versions of the square, particularly the MR-Gs. They may look similar to steel squares, but are completely different in build and materials, being comprised of multiple individually sallaz-polished titanium pieces fit together. Even the rivets in the bracelet are polished fitted cylindrical pieces. It's pretty impressive. The watches are also incredibly light on wrist, which I think you'd like.
I have the full metal digital G shock , absolutely love it , it’s my daily wear to work as i don’t worry about knocking it or scratching it . Brilliant watch ⌚️ 👌
Thank you so much for your detailed review. I was thinking of buying the full metal gold but was really unsure but thanks to your video I am now 100 percent buying this!
Totally agree on legibility, I have an eyesight issue and negative displays drive me nuts. I have the yellow GA-B2100 and that is very good, just wish they'd lume the indices!
I also suffer of a small 16.5 cm wrist, its hard to use big watches. Anyway, great point of view and hope you can bring more Casios and Gshocks to the channel. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 (By the way., You're right... singing is not tour stuff, but it makes the Channel more Yourself! Keep singing if it makes you happy) 😎
I also have a small wrist (15.5cm) and could never use the metal Gshocks… but the new GST-B600 fits perfectly for me! Finally found a perfect size full metal Gshock for me!
Britt I’ve got the G5600 with red display in the metal jacket. Pretty much illegible but hell it’s stealthy & Terminator!😎🤣 As for illegible displays with the analogue, I have an older GA model. I hardly wore it. Bored one day I pulled it apart & painted the hands with my daughters deep red gloss nail polish! Man can I read it easily now!😵💫🤩👍🏻
The Watch G reviewing the Full Metal G! ❤ A match made in Casio heaven. Amazing review! And I agree with the end links. I was about to buy it, but that was a deal breaker. Yes, it looks sick… but it’s not comfortable nonetheless.
the 5000 has MB6 + bluetooth the 2100 has bluetooth only . a very special option these have is that you can pinpoint the location you are and make a registration of it with a push of a button these locations stay recorded in the map section of the casio app . neat trick !! the 2100 dial brings out amazing colours from the hour markers when playing with it against the sun .
hi, on the CasiOak I put a protection on the glass like the one used for smartphones, which also has a nice violet/blue anti-reflection, which I think is the final touch to make it even more elegant and fashionable 😉
This is the first video of yours that I have seen. You are spot on with these watches. I bought the 2100 in blue and it fits my 7.5 inch wrist perfectly.
Love the GMW-B5000 Square, so much in fact I bought the MRG-B5000. Expensive yes, however, really showcases what Casio can actually achieve with state of the art metals/materials and high end finishing. Also worth looking at the GMW-B5000 titanium models for a lighter feeling full metal square.
I didn't think it was expensive as a cost/value proposition. I think I'd paid about $400. I just saw a new on Chrono JDM for $315. I think a good value.
The MRG gets scratches like crazy! Saw it in a video of another owner. For the price you should just get a Citizen Super titanium. Just as many features without the need for a phone connection.
Iconic yes, pure luxury is a stretch. IMO, the metal cased, rubber strapped variants look much better and are a true value. The all metal variants come off as luxury wannabe watches and are not worth the price.
All metal are monumental, and most likely will last a lifetime. Besides that they are coated with zirconium, so full metal have the best collecting value.
Jaybee, you're a REAL ONE! From early gringa days!!! I do need to remember to have a bit of fun with it tho. I have loved upping my production value and just trying to improve at this craft!
Great video, I have the metal square g-shock and is my daily watch. The only minor problem is that the mirror polish gets more easily scratched and is visible. It's not a big deal for me, after all is a g-shock and is just the perfect beater watch. The mineral glass is not bad it is protected by the case. And the display is more crisp compared to my other g-shock watches, different technology. The titanium ones are beautiful and I couldn't use them like a real g-shock.
i love how the G-Shock is the de-facto "Hey, I'm not only into displays of wealth, I actually love watches" watch. It's like a price of entry tax. Every watch "collector" has to pay homage to G- Shock and buy one of their watches and add it to their collection to have the watch tribe flag on their lapel.
I have both and changed them to the resin strap - just makes more sense as a G-Shock! Slight correction - the GMB2100 square has radio auto time adjustment and the GMB2100 Casioak does not.
I agree the square looks good on you. Not a G-Shock but try the Casio A1100, a full metal Casio & it's a little smaller. The best new Casio for years IMHO.
I'm so glad you put in the post edit clip about being able to pull off the square one cos the whole time I was thinking "What is she talking about? She can totally wear the square one"
Hi Britt! Casio does make smaller versions of the Casioak.. the GM-S2100, which is encased in metal, without the metal bracelet. Not solar or Bluetooth, but they might fit you a little better! Lighter, too!
Thanks for the nice review. I've got both of these watches. I normally wear 40-43 mm steel automatic watches at home and work, so I am used to the size and weight. However, the GMW-B5000 is great for travelling due to all of its functions and lower risk of loss compared to luxury watches. Particularly useful for me is the ability to easily record GPS locations that I visit on a map, using the smart phone app. I wear the Casioak less because it has more limited functions, is harder to read with the tinted crystal, and it has a tiny digital display.
I always appreciate the wide range of watches and watch brands that you cover. Everything from watches I can only dream about and admire from afar to watches that I can go out and purchase right away. Thanks for keeping it FUN! Well done 🥃
Britt, maybe take a look at the GMWB5000-1 version, same metal case but with a smooth rubber strap that doesn't flare out like the metal end-links version and It's also lighter. It does have a negative display which I prefer, but somes find it a bit less legible! Great review and keep up the good work!
You can definitely pull off the full metal square. The Casioak is a better fit for your husband. I had the full metal Casioak that came on a nylon strap, loved it and I just bought the full metal square as well, the GMWB5000D-2, blue dial. Can't wait for it to come in. The Mad Watch Collector and your review, reinforced my will to purchase the square as well.
Love a g shock I have several including the ancient square black one.For me Noone can say anything negative about a g shock but that's just personal preference.
Own the squared version in both black and silver. The black version looks much smaller on the wrist. So get that for those who are concerned with the size.
Fun fact , the full metal gshock Casioak in gunmetal was my first gshock that I bought this year . Agree on it rather having sapphire glass. I wouldn’t mind paying more for it . Regardless , it’s like the ultimate digital/analog tool watch . Also, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of gshock , I bought the book as well to look at the innovations on how it started and the different variety of gshocks.
They make a Sapphire glass protector for both of these watches, they aren’t noticeable and definitely worth getting. I wasn’t aware of them until I wandered into the rabbit hole of modded Casioak’s. There’s tons of case, dial, hands and strap options that’s worth looking into
When I go MTB - e board - or enter the ops zone my full metal G can’t recall which model is on the wrist the GMT and Navi can stay home - so my G has born witness to 3 broken ribs a shoulder blade and almost fractured orbital it’s solid aside from the link which I wish was billet - Maybe a Ti version or diy forged carbon restomod in the future - love it. BTW not enough Rolex and Omega on the channel - just saying…….😂
You know, I vow to up my Rolex, Omega and Tudor content. ;) I know, there isn't enough mainstream darlings on this channel, but here at Gringa analytics we are committed to featuring watch brands that really don't need to be talked about anymore but I just can't help myself! ;) hahaha! But for real.... WOOOOAH! You'e been wearing your G Shock in much more hardcore endeavours than me! I love it!!!
I bought the casioak but can hardly see the time with the tinted glass, so i got rid of it, i much prefer the b5000, it’s perfect for a ride on my Harley fat boy 114
I have both of these watches and I agree with everything you said . I have a 7 inch wrist so both work for me.Actually my G Shock square is an upscale one costing $1,600 and is titanium and camouflage. It has a sapphire crystal and for that price it better have a sapphire crystal.
I have an AW-500, which is a reissue of the first analogue G-shock. It doens't wear that big due to its quite small dial. It has a metal version, AWM-500, that deserves being checked out.
Great video, Brittany, thank you 🙂👍. The watches look really nice, but have to be honest with myself if I bought one, it wouldn't get much wear time 😕.
Need to add some background singing to the Patron Song. A little, “Boo-Boop She-Bop-Bop Ramalam…” 🤣🤣🤣. Ok, these look fantastic! But I’m undecided if I go with this or the Titanium MR-G. 🤔🤔🤔
I wish the end links on the full metal square articulated better because I love the look and the idea. I just didnt enjoy how it sat on my wrist. Here’s to hoping the come out with an upgraded ending system.
I love these, and I'm on the verge of buying one. Thing is, what makes casios so fun is that they are $100 pieces usually and I love most about them is the constant reminder that one of my favorite watches was just $20. This one, not so much at $500.
good breakdown. she's not kidding, the full metal casioak wears really big. I can wear a real casioak just fun but the metal one even though its gorgeous feels like daddy's suits.
One thing I wanna ask, do you have an issue with the Bluetooth connection interesting with the multi and 6 connectivity? My gmw 5000tb does not sync when I keep it it paired to my phone on Bluetooth? There’s a article on fratello explaining the issue. Just wondering if they fixed the issue.
Thank you for the video 😁👍 I love my GMW-B5000D wearing it on all occasion when I don't feel like wearing meca but still on steel mood. And if I dinged it, it's not big of deal even at it's premium price. It might me the central piece of my collection, it will always tell time right so I can use it to set my mecanicals. I agree that GM-B2100D is too sthealhy, so if I go CasioOak it would their last GM-B2100PC / GM-B2100BPC with colorful degradé markers, though my mind still not set on steel or black. Would be cool to have them both and be able to quickly switch the module to mix color scheme.
It's your second video youtube has suggested me, and I am quite liking your reviews (I intend to subscribe after the third video). Your review was awesome and the shots were nicely taken. Thank you, I learnt today that (from material science perspective) Sapphire crystals are 9 on Moh's scale (just lesser than diamond, which is 10), but are brittle. Upon studying more, I found that people have been employing different items for watch faces, like acrylic, K1, mineral, Hesalite, and Sapphire. (and each of them have their own use cases. For example, Sapphire is bad for space, where Hesalite takes precedence, and for shock resistant watches too, where again Hesalite or Mineral glass would be prefered). Why don't you make a video on this topic only, just to add the science behind the beauty of these tik tok things!
Well well well!!! First of all! Beautifully shot, well narrated and I came out wanting the square one even though I already own it! We all know G shock are not meant to hide under a cuff! 99,400 subs Britt, amazing, long way from Gringa days…👏👏
Britt, maybe take a look at the GMWB5000-1 version, same metal case but with a smooth rubber strap that doesn't flare out like the metal end-links version and It's also lighter. It does have a negative display which I prefer, but somes find it a bit less legible! Great review and keep up the good work!
Great video. Have a titanium square very happy with it. A real tool watch
You can pull off the square G-Shock easily , I don't know why you initially doubted it ! Nice review.
I do like the look of the full digital. Not sold on the dark face of the analogue (plus it's a chonk)
IT IS CHONK! It’s too big for me sadly. 😭 boo to the overhang. The square g shock is always the ONE for me.
Love a g shock I have several including the ancient square black one.For me Noone can say anything negative about a g shock but that's just personal preference.
Own the squared version in both black and silver. The black version looks much smaller on the wrist. So get that for those who are concerned with the size.
👍 Great review, now I know what to buy!
Ahh Andrea! Thanks so much lovely! 😅💕
Great timing. I was just re-visiting these full metal g-shocks!
I never thought I could like an accent as much as my own. ❤
lol!! Well, you might be the only person who likes my weirdo accent ;) But thank you so much!!!
@@BrittPearceWatches Canadian, correct?
@@KAL-589 she'll never fuck you bro
Was waiting for metal casioak review!!!
IT'S HERE BABEH!
Would love to see a review of the Casio A1100 vintage series 🤩
Great review! I want one now :)
For those that own the square, does the bracelet and case scratch easily?
I have an AW-500, which is a reissue of the first analogue G-shock. It doens't wear that big due to its quite small dial. It has a metal version, AWM-500, that deserves being checked out.
I am looking at the metal square. Should I get the gold or silver?
Great video, Brittany, thank you 🙂👍. The watches look really nice, but have to be honest with myself if I bought one, it wouldn't get much wear time 😕.
Dare I say it, every serious watch collector has the full metal square in their collection, because it is so cool
Ive the full metal square in red looks awesome!
U should try the Mrg- b5000 its just a tad under the gmw b5000 in size.
What is this gorgeous Seiko at 8:16?
Another great video, just wish G Shock Casioaks didn’t make me look like a tactical Timmy
Can you try the new Casio GST B600D in full metal. I guess u will love the sizing
100K!🇨🇦, just a video away, congratulations on your success
Are you fine with the 600 dollar prices? What do you think there should cost? Excellent video, thanks.
Want to see a review on MR-G of square
I WOULD LOVE TO GET ONE IN!!!
Have you seen the newer Casio GMAP2100’s that are smaller than the GA2100 and GMAS2100?
One thing I wanna ask, do you have an issue with the Bluetooth connection interesting with the multi and 6 connectivity? My gmw 5000tb does not sync when I keep it it paired to my phone on Bluetooth? There’s a article on fratello explaining the issue. Just wondering if they fixed the issue.
"Ball Ache" brilliant phrase, we will make a Brit out of you yet...Britt.
'One of us' haha.
Loved the vid 🎉!!
Try the GM-2100 with resin strap 👍
NEED THIS!!
Can the metal bracelet be removed and use quick release bar and straps?
Thank you for the video 😁👍
I love my GMW-B5000D wearing it on all occasion when I don't feel like wearing meca but still on steel mood.
Does the size of James' wrist diameter keeps creeping up larger and larger in quarter inch increments?
Yup.
I have the rosegold version and its more easy to read the time
Great video
Literally getting the gold casioak tomorrow, what wicked timing
That yellow squared watch where can I get it? What’s the name or model of that watch?
Can you plz tell if the strap of both the watches are interchangeable with each other ?
