I own the bare titanium colored MRG square and the GMW 5000TB and GW5000TCM. The non MRG titanium squares are hard to beat. The MRG is cool because you know you are wearing a flagship model. Only notable difference is slightly higher bracelet quality on the MRG square. When you compare them in hand it's immediately obvious that the MR-G models are superior with far greater attention to detail and finishing. From the clasp, the case back, the case, the bracelet, the module, it's all a step up in every department. Much more complex, better finishing, better materials, it's no contest. Worth the money? Objectively no, subjectively though it may well be, and watch buying decisions beyond an F-91 are all subjective at the end of the day. It's difficult to understand the price compared to a steel square, but compare it with a similarly priced mechanical and the construction and finishing is very obviously superior and more interesting on the MR-G in my opinion. Of course the same can't be said for the movement, so swings and roundabouts there.
as I understand it the modules in the MR-G models are made to a higher spec than the normal models which would be saying something as Casio's electronics is very high spec in the first place in context. The 2 parts that are most susceptible to ware and aging are the display and battery. The battery is easy to fix and the display a bit harder as a normal display will last 20 years in any case but can be replaced by Casio so I imagine Casio's repair planning is huge as they know they need to manufacture things like displays 20 years after they have released a model (in theory) and I imagine this planning is even greater than this.

Hi. Excellent video but I would make one correction. No G-Shock watches have a Hardlex crystal. They are either mineral glass or sapphire crystal. Thanks for the video.
ah yes I do apologise, you are correct the crystal on the full metals is mineral crystal, my fault. When the camera is rolling I think I often make errors and I hate watching myself so thank you for letting me know.
Interesting review - and it's not an easy decision. I have the GMWB5000, and it's enough at £450, the MRG's are utterly beautiful, but the difference in price is ridiculous. An after market titanium case is only about £120... and with no used MRG's on ebay, depreciation (or inflation) is unknown...
with watches often the value is in the eye of the beholder. The GMWB5000 in steel is a great watch and if you like the weight and colour I would say you're probably better off with the steel. I haven't actually had an aftermarket titanium bezel and bracelet in my hand but I do hear they are good and probably a good option if you wanted to try it out.
@@masterwatch the one's I've tried are good enough I think for the money. My DWH5600 currently on a steel case and bracelet like the GMWB, looks amazing
The price delta is a big one.. I often think that myself actually. The MR-Gs do feel more premium even though they are lighter because of the titanium. When looking close at them you can probably tell the build quality and tolerances are very tight on the MR-Gs.. but if a person is price conscious I'd say go GMW because they are still very good.
Cool watches. I like both. Steel is a tougher metal and is heftier, giving a high quality feeling. Titanium is lightweight and is much more corrosion resistant. The titanium also has the superior crystal. The GMW’s one piece bezel is a stronger. The GMW titanium is a really nice in between watch. Now that there’s a carbon version, there is even more choice.
I’ve got the black titanium GMW-B5000 and it is way more subtle than the black MR-G because, excluding the top of the bezel and corners of the midlinks, it had a matte finish. It also borrows from the yellow DW-5000C rather than the red one so has a yellow line. The red line does shimmer in the light - that, the amount of details and the matte gold caseback are my favorite aspects the watch. I love both and the MR-G is clearly premium but wish they’d gone for more matte finishing. If the bracelet had been matte, it would have made the polished rivets pop like an the raw (natural) titanium MR-G. My gripe against the all-steel variants is they are very heavy. Even without the bracelet, they have more heft than I want in a wristwatch. All of this has been recursive for me as the more I wear my premium squares, the more I appreciate the affordable Origin models which makes me appreciate the work Casio has put into the Square.
yes some very good points. I do like the Titanium B5000TB and do regret not having that now but thought the MR-G might fill that void. Gosh there are many good squares.
It’s amazing how Casio literally stole so manny features of other brands. First thing they didi is to copy Timex adverts with gshock being throw from the building or under the truck. Then they stole Timex indiglo and just renamed it Illuminator, after that they literally copied Certina double security system, they added a little plastic and voila you have a first gshock. I don’t want to even start how Casio copied manny Seiko 80’s watch designs and just rebranded them.

I remember when you started this channel. And I said you should call your channel MR MRG or Minster MRG😂 Dont know if you remember me? I admired your unique videos on these pieces for a year. And because of your videos I am now a proud owner of the black MRG,
I am in the Uk so i got it from Beaverbrooks. Paid full retail £3600, i dont care as its worfh every penny to me and won't be sold. Also i wanted the full retail experience. I also ordered the black B5000 in matt black with the brushed bezel from Chrono 24 new from a Japanese store as its a Japanese domestic model or limited.
Thank you for your videos, and style of videos. Without this informative channel and your laid back approach, i wouldn't have pulled the trigger i don't think. So thanks again mate. And this is coming from some one that's in to high end mechanical A lange Sohne, JLC, Vacheron, the MRG is one of my favourite in my collection. Probably my favourite to be fair, as it goes with everything and any attire. The added plus is no one knows what i am wearing! The closest i have in toughness to this watch and with advanced evolution in materials in mechanicals is my Sinn EZM 13.1and my Sinn U1 Ds limited edition. Which is fully Tegimented treated over Submarine steel and can't be scratched, The EZM it has a special crystal inside that asobs moisture. And pushers Technology where the pushers can be pressed 500m under water, it has special gases and oils also! The U1 is 1000m, I am a plumbing engineer so i love the engineering side. And Sinn is one of my favourite brands, i love German engineering. I am actually surprised, you havent spoke on the brand on this channel. If you dont know of the brand, it might be something you might want to check out. Again Thanks for the MRG videos, they're needed more then you think. Your channel covers what others doesn't 👍🏾
Yes I do remember you and hello. As I read this message I was actually on the Sinn and Guinand websites going through their range of watches and I will be showing hopefully more Mechanical Chronograph Sport (my favourite sort of mechanical) watches soon and of course some more G-Shocks... Am really wanting a Carbon with positive display. Thanks again for your comment and so strange I was actually looking at Sinn.
@@masterwatch Wow 👌🏾 ironic, because I always thought watching your video, I bet once he discovers Sinn, I have a feeling you would be smitten with the technology. Not many channels really talk about Sinn as they're not marketed like other Luxury brands. They're are as utilitarian as they come. And are used for real professional personnel's, like different German special forces called the GSG9, they was handed UX models, they do watches for ambulance service! All kinds of service. Truly a marvel brand. Love them, I brought the 556 I to start me off then I brought the EZM 13.1 and then the U1 DS limited last year in less then 2 months that's how much respect I have for the brand. Click Spring Reviews Channel has the best reviews for Sinn, a UK Channel.
@@MyVideosWillCalmU interesting I will take a look.. 👀
@@masterwatch 👌🏾
@@masterwatch No problem at all. I really appreciate all your work on these videos.
@@ianmaw66 thank you 👍🏻
Interesting review - and it's not an easy decision.
@@tonyd223 I think the B5000 is so Iconic I can them making so more more variants.
Great review !
Thank you.. I will try to get better and thank you again.
GMWB5000BPC1
2023 release... #amazing ❤
these GMW-B5000 watches are great. Thanks again.
Thats a hell of an opener
I have no idea what I was thinking... 😎
There is no doubt that MRG is better than GMW. the issue is whether you can afford or not.
How
Cool watches.
I think the Carbon is a really nice option if you're wanting toughness. Thanks for the comment.
Unreal Armour version has red spacer as well and its exposed.
ah ok and that is cool.. I think they keep the red spacer for special models.
Hmm... mr-g, cars, bitcoin, or loose women? Why does it have to be either/or?
😂... you are correct.. why have 1 when you can have all 4... you make a good point.
Well good video
thank you.
That silver is *SO BAD*
That grey titanium, on the other hand...
the silver steel will probably be one of those icons in the future and everyone is trying to buy one in new condition.
Für mich sind GShock Uhren immer aus Carbon/Plastik, niemals aus Metall
Ah ja, ich kann verstehen, warum
136. G. Shock MRG. VS. GMW. Full. Metal comparison. MRG. B5000 V
Thanks again.. I hope to make these videos better.
Timex is such a cool name for a watch…

Thanks again.
5 out of 10 for camera work. And I'm being generous.
I will hopefully get better.
Спасибо за отличный обзор! 👍
ах, спасибо. G-Shock продолжает делать классные часы
