Great video, as a fellow owner I have to agree that it is not a car for beginners. My dealer installed a remanufactured N63 to replace the original at 95k. Life has been good ever since.
Hey man, my x5 has 103k with the n63. Just had my engine replaced at 96k miles for free with the lawsuit. But before the replacement it was also trouble free. It just needs preventive maintenance done on time.
You’re a brave man. I might be another one. Just might get one. I remember test driving it when they first came out. Strong runners but the reputation will scare many away. Good work, bro.
I agree, good info. I just changed the pesky valve stem seals on my e90 316i beater car. It’s a pain to do the job yourself but I’m not paying 2,500 USD at BMW to change them😂 that’s more than the car is worth. I’d love to get my hands on a 550 though, lovely car!
I had 3 BMWs in my younger days. I want to remove the turbo charger to reduce the horsepower and to reduce the wear and tear. Do you need to reprogram the car? How many hours to remove it, and is there any obstruction?
Currently looking at buying a 2012 550xi with 120,000 miles great service records all at a bmw dealership. They are selling it to me for low blue book because it's a family member. What do you think? Safe buy?
I don’t own a bmw but anytime you can get a car that has tons of documented history from the dealer, it was taken care of by who owned it previously. I’d do it in my opinion

"beginners" - aren't the prices and insurance high enough to keep snot-nosed kids away? BTW, what happened at 95K ?

How did you get your engine replacement for free?

How about a 2-year update?
Best thing if buying a n63 is to learn to work on your car yourself, i saved over 5k doing some repairs my self it’s worth it
