I flew BA First October of 23. It was absolutely wonderful. While I didn't partake of Afternoon Tea (long story) I watched the guy across from me indulge. I loved watching the beautiful service and can't wait to fly again and enjoy it myself.
After 20 minutes of training and being constantly observed, that was a brilliant afternoon tea service.
I have no doubt that afternoon tea on British Airways is spectacular. My only experience with British Airways, however, was two flight - one was cancelled and the other delayed. Maybe BA isn't focusing on the right things. This was very well done, however, and very enjoyable.
Sadly, nothing on BA is spectacular and hasn't been in almost a decade.

The best afternoon teas are in Yorkshire tea shops. The scones usually have sultanas in addition. I prefer butter than clotted cream, which is for the more northerner. We also don’t need napkins, just our hands to wipe our mouths!

BA's first class looks great! But man does their business class suck. Every year when I decide to spend my points, I actively avoid BA for how terrible and outdated their seats are. If only they put in more effect to revamp and spruce it up.
They are…over 50% of the aircraft have their new Club Suite now.

I took about 7 or 8 flights in old BA biz and just recently tried their updated Club Suite. It's a fantastic product now

Not likely to ever fly first class have flown business a couple of times a huge difference between the two, but considering the price difference that's to be expected, great video though in flight is it as good?
Just had afternoon tea on BA193 yesterday, it was pretty much exactly like this. Obviously a faff for the FA's, but I'm a sucker for traditions like this, especially when you can't buy true clotted cream in the US.

Their app seems to be under maintenance every 2 days. Despite all this maintenance, it barely works. Their flights are constantly delayed. I think BA should focus on getting the basics right before they turn their attention to afternoon tea in first class.

I don't know how many times this needs to be said: "jam first; cream on top." I mean, wars have been fought over less.

First is not worth the extra £ step up from club imho
It absolutely is worth it and a very different experience. Much roomier pods - feet are not in a confining footwell, but on a spacious ottoman. I’ve flown every version (787-10, 777-300, 747-400, A380) - the angle of the reverse herringbone seat is minimal compared to Club World. My experience in Club World has been underwhelming and the seating is tight. I think the new Club World is probably better in that regard. The Concorde Room at LHR is so much nicer than the business lounge it really isn’t comparable, at least to me. The only disappointing part is the tired, original furniture in the cabanas.

I’ve read numerous articles over the years from travel blogs, flight attendants, and also from “The Points Guy” that we should never order coffee/tea on airplanes because the water is sitting in airplane water tanks that are only cleaned out two or three times a year and therefore the water quality is not good and unhealthy. So which is it Points Guy?
People do not get sick from it though! Also I see more and more airlines use a huge water bottle instead these days
@@maxsaviation9512 I was also wondering if BA uses water bottles to make their tea but the video didn’t say. Google The Points Guy article from September 2019 about drinking tea and coffee on planes. They mention the e-coli and bacteria in airplane water. Not good. The Points Guy needs to clear this up because their Afternoon Tea video contradicts their own reporting about airplane water.

A First Class without a real Caviar service is not a First Class, sorry BA. But for sure, your fares are First Class fares anyways !
In my experience, BA First is by far the most reasonably priced F product from the US West Coast to major cities in the Mideast (Riyadh, Dubai) and India. Much less than other European carriers and much, much less (and nice) than ME/Asian carriers.

That new BA female cabin crew has really disappointed many people who preferred the Julien MacDonald uniform, which was much more classy and smart, and really made the female crew stand out. Very sad that BA have downgraded their uniform to such a dull, drab style.
BA... A sad has-been airline. I avoid it as much as possible. My favorite European airline? Finnair, hands down.
