Back in the days when Hydralisks shot acid not boring spikes. Back in the days when hydras gave me nightmares as a kid because of this video. PPl dont realize that it's a science vessel and it's huge, then how big a BC can be in real scale.
I never realized how CLASSIC these lines in these cinematics would be. The late 90's were a truly amazing time. Of course, lots of nostalgia biasing that but I think it's objectively true.
Look at 32:16 Dominion and UED forces together, collaborating each other knowing they're doomed, knowing the zerg would kill them both, doesn't matter what faction they come from.

It's so cool how Alien and Warhammer 40K were such an influence for this game. All implemented respectfully and with style. This is the quality you got in the 90s when true nerds were still in charge of making video games with the right amount of time, resources and appreciation. They put love and dedication in every single detail and it shows.
I sincerely appreciate your take on this, I was so so irked that everytime Starcraft ever popped its lovely head thru blind playthroughs or reactions there would be that one damned comment talking about how it's essentially a 40k ripoff, like I have a Imperial Commissar for Kriegers as my dang avatar for Emperor's sake. It's not even about separating 40k and SC, considering 40k came first and an artist had done work on both back in the day it is an influence but not enough for SC to be a ripoff. Really I'm just worried for Starcraft's image here in the future... I don't want it to ever rest in peace being known as great value 40k or ripoff 40k. I was concerned about this also since one of Bricky's videos especially the factions explaining ones were a lot of people's first view into the universe. I really mind the saying that a person is smart but people are dumb. They're gonna take that superficial Starcraft comparison with no grain of salt....
@@LookHereMars in fact Starcraft was the 2nd attempt by Blizzard to make a 40K game but just like with Warcraft it got rejected by the right holders after development has already started. What's left of the concept is the Orcs in Warcraft and the Space Marines in Starcraft.

The story goes that both wc and sc were supposed to be worked on with two existing ips. Both existing ips pulled out with the games already in production. wc becomes a legal issue and causes some changes. With games workshop pulling out on sc they wanted to protect their assets, AFTER the majority of sc1 had been completed. but hadn't actually seen the direction blizzard took sc after the departure. In order to keep GW happy blizzard promised to remove/change models in the game. All of this was done outside of court and is an agreement between the two companies.

I'll be real, I love the Amerigo battle scene, but from a tactical standpoint, that demolitions team set themselves up for an ambush. The minute that first guy went down, you know the Zerg are in the vents, which means they've got the ability to pop out of them whenever. Then there's the fact they set down the bomb in the middle of a four-way junction, wide enough to fit hydralisks shoulder to shoulder. Once the shooting starts, that's when you know it's already too late for those poor boys to get off the station. No movement, no target prioritization, no overall communication. I'm a huge fan of the terrans and I love seeing them win, but in a situation like this, playing it out like these boys did is just a fast route to the grave.
Based on the way some Terran-pros "fixed" my electricity when I wasn't home, I find such an approach completely believable XD And it's why I appreciate the scene so much...
In the lore Terran marines are basically convicts so this is more like a dirty dozen/wagner group conscript level of performance than a professional military.

Till this day, somehow whenever i see his features (not that i understand protoss features), i always feel his sadness at the long gone Golden Age of protoss's Aiur, his own People at War internally, his. And the corrupting touch of Zerg, and the fall of Aiur.. Ahhh~!!! Now, i am 34. this storyline still hurts and brings a tear. similarly, of my childhood and experiencing this story. (it was only when i was 16 that i replayed broodwar and understood the literature and storyline behind the game and mission objectives) *sigh* Thanks for reading!
They could like with diablo 2 remastered. But sadly starcraft is less popular than diablo, so surely less profitable. Maybe Microsoft will sell it to us, but i will prefer a real starcraft 2. Not the dogshit story we got.
SC1 had truly the best method of story writing which SC2 neglected. Blizzard has seriously fallen short and far from how they used to be. The setting and narrative just devolved into a immature power fantasy. And there is largely no future for it. They shouldn't have adapted Kerrigan as they did.

I feel bad for the Confederate battlecruiser in the latter clip, the crew is probably listening to Mengsk's speech and are like "Yeah! We want to join up!" only to be destroyed by a SoK battlecruiser a few seconds later.
All the cutscenes are cut short by about half a second in remastered even with original graphics. Completely removes the cool fade out that the original ones had. Such a shame.

I hate that they changed the proportions of the Protoss in Starcraft 2 to be closer to a human's. They were very gaunt and very wide in the original. They looked a lot more alien.

I hate that they changed the proportions of the Protoss in Starcraft 2 to be closer to a human's. They were very gaunt and very wide in the original. They looked a lot more alien.

Terran should be rusty, reckless space cowboy race and Protoss should be advanced mystical shiny race while Zerg should be ruthless slimy world devoured race. Starcraft 1 depicted exactly how each race should be! Somehow, Starcraft 2 is too revealing and cartooney! What a waste
