Agreed! These are the most underrated pistols on the market. The have really dropped the ball on marketing and support. Holster manufacturers are just now seeming to get onboard.

I agree wholeheartedly. I've been a CZ fanboy for years and never considered another pistol. But I was let in on the Steyr secret recently, after handling the M9-A2 MF in my LGS. Excellent ergos and super low bore axis. Shooting this thing is an absolute dream, almost zero muzzle rise because it recoils practically in a horizontal plane. I've got to think COVID had a major impact on Steyr, possibly crippling their ability to manufacture and market. IN any event, I'm glad I learned the Steyr secret.

My local gun shop (the one close to my work) has one of these, and because of your videos, I checked it out. Once I had it in hand, I fell in love. I'm currently just a few dollars away from having enough to purchase it, and I can hardly wait! Once I have it and get a chance to go to the range, I will let you know what I think. Thanks so much for your videos!

Keep in mind, CZ started as a small cult like following in the US also.
I was convinced to buy one buy a gunsmith back in 09 and I’d never even heard of them at the time.

Your recommendation goes a long way because I trust you. Yes I think it's underrated and underexposed. I'm not gun poor but if I was to replace one of the handguns I have, it would be with this. Unfortunately, I have no plans to purchase anything right now, but I've said that so many times and turned out buying one.

I’ve wanted a Steyr for years. Out here in Arizona, whenever one popped up, it was gone before I could get to it. I’ve loved my HK P30L and my CZ P-07. I’ve never really been a striker fired guy. This platform had me hooked.
Low and behold, last night, one popped up on 💪🏼’s list. I luckily was the first to reach out. Tomorrow I get to pick up a C9-A2 MF. I cannot wait. I’ve honestly never been this excited to pick up a firearm. Now comes the part where I load up on some magazines. Thanks for the video!

I had the S9 and the M9A1. Great guns and i highly recommend them to anyone. Some of the best striker fired guns out there. I reluctantly parted with them as I transitioned to DA/SA for my carry guns and, due to aftermarket support, chose Glocks to be the striker fired platform that I would keep. This happened over the last year. If you’re thinking about getting one, don’t hesitate.

Hi I bought this gun today. I had the original full size and it was one of my favorite guns Ive ever had With the design, recoil is reduced quite a bit as you know. The quality of this gun is one of the best out there. They don't misfire either. Until I saw this video I had no idea they came out with the A2. I actually like the look of it much better. If you own one of these guns, people always want to shoot them. The big consideration is that most hot sellers sell for almost list in some cases. These guns are heavily discounted because most people don't know what they are. I got mine today for 450! This is a steal for this gun! If people just knew how nice they are! Thanks for the vid. Cant wait to get mine!

This was a great review. We have a bunch of Steyr rifles (Steyr Mannlichers MCAs, AUG, SSG), but didn't even new they still made pistols. I just saw this and looked it up...they are very reasonably priced too (which is very un-Steyr like if you have ever priced a Zephyr 2 or CL II SX). Thanks. I think this is in my future.

My buddy gave me his C9-A2 to borrow last night since I shoot more often than he does, he wanted me to break it in. Exceptionally well made. At my local Palmetto State Armory, the C9-A2 has sat in their glass cabinet for months. I’m sure they have several in-stock, but still, for as great of a pistol as it is, it’s very under appreciated.

I remember about 10 years ago a new local gun store popped up minutes down the road, I obviously had to go check it out and the first thing i saw was Steyr dealer on the door and a big banner hanging up behind the counter, after asking the owner about the hand guns I could instantly tell he was a really big fan of their pistols, i didn't buy the hype he was talking until he put one in my hands and I couldn't believe just hot good the feel and ergonomics were, and those weird triangle sights. I regret not buying one back then but the C9-A2 is certainly on the list of must own hand guns for me and I plan to acquire one soon!

I started shooting about two months ago.
First with a trainer who made a deal with Steyr so that he can show those guns to new shooters (instead of G**** of cause) and even he had to somewhat fight with them to get a propper offer.
So I used the L9 A1 as my first gun and with the first five shots there was a harmony i can't explain - and a nice grouping on the target.
Now i own an L9 A2 MF and I left the shooting range with a big grin in my face. I have to learn A LOT but ... well, I think I'll keep her for long.
But I absolute agree with you about the marketing. I'm living in Austria so it is relatively easy to find one of those guns, but after-market does not exist (more or less).
Steyr is a big name in the hunting community and of cause everyone knows the AUG (STG77...) but I have the feeling that they are kind of sorry to offer a handgun too. Just a feeling ... :-/
Thanks for your content - keep on shooting!

Everything you said is absolutely true. I own the M9-A2 and I absolutely love it. Criminally underrated for sure. The only complaint I have is that the threaded barrel versions are hard to find and the factory threaded barrels are 300 bucks, which is definitely steep. Other than that, these are incredible in every way. A lot of folks complain about the reset, which is comical because nobody is going to hear a trigger reset during any real life scenario where you're shooting for your life. And the sights--I love them and I think they are better than any other configuration after you get used to it. Even magazines aren't terrible. Definitely not as affordable as Glock mags, but far cheaper than HK and some others.

Steyr fan. Love my M9A1 with threaded barrel, even though I haven't even broken it in yet. Jams when dirty but a cleaning and it's right back to great. I owned a 40 cal but traded it for a 9 because of the low capacity of the 40- 10 to 12 rds vs 17. Love the A1 because it's not textured. I hate texturing that hurts if you even get a good grip on a gun. Texturing that feels like wrapping a grip in barbed wire is a fad today. I thought I was going to hate the A2 because it looks like it will be rough, but it feels good and I find myself wanting one it all sizes. My M9A1 is the most comfortable pistol I've held out of literally hundreds of models.

I bought an S9-A1 years ago because the sale price was to good to pass up. After taking it to the range and having a few FTF’s I threw it I the safe as I couldn’t trust it to function as my EDC. One day I pulled it out and scrubbed it top to bottom then took it to the range where it functioned flawlessly. Trouble is, I couldn’t put it down. The trapezoid sights improved my shooting 100% over any of my Glocks.
I had the opportunity to pick up a C9-A2 on a 4th of July sale. After changing the grip to the larger back strap it was love at first sight and now my new EDC. The only drawback to the Steyr A2 is the lack of holsters that are available. I ordered a IWB from We The People holsters and also checked with Alien Gear who makes one for the L9. They don’t make one for the C9 but if enough people call requesting it they’ll start making them for the complete A2 series of pistols.

I’ve done a little custom work on them, but my eyesight isn’t what it used to be, so I purchased an Armalaser green laser (GTO with a FLX) that turns on when your middle finger touches the contact under the trigger guard. It turns off when you release the grip. It is still available on Amazon. It has solved my aiming problems and it might be of interest to others. (Now I can shoot from the hip, but I still get hot spent brass thrown up in my face, lol!)

I wish they had made it with an optic cut slide which would have made me more likely to upgrade from my current A1. As it is, there isn’t that much difference between the two.
Another thing of note is that quite often there are comments about how huge the muzzle end of the gun appears. It’s an optical illusion. I can put my Sig 229 muzzle to muzzle with the Steyr and there is virtually no difference between the two.

I really forgot these existed. Always wanted a Steyr handgun but they’re super hard to find.

The M9 has been popping up a lot lately, both online and in the local gun shops. After looking for over a year,I picked mine up online in January and had it shipped to a local ffl. Ironically, when I went to pick it up ,they had another one in stock that had just come in!

Just found this locally, and you can bet your ass I purchased this.
Wouldn't mind getting the M9, too.

It would be amazing with an optics cut and suppressor height night sights, perfect pistol if you have that done to it.

I am a very big Steyr fan since I bought my son the beautiful limited edition 7mm08. Just recently found out about the a2 pistol line. Can a red dot be mounted directly to the slide? Thanks. Keep the videos coming man.

Unfor6it cannot. Steyr made a great firearm but they don't really listen to the Market unfortunately

Love your zeal, but I take a darker view as I’m also an Hk fan. These are amazing guns. To me far better than my Glock 19. I shoot this gun waaaay better, but here is where Glock shines, they care about the American market. Steyr does not. That is because there is a bit of Euro snootiness that I know well after having travelled on business in the region. Steyr has a long standing name for producing nothing but quality products for a very long time. They don’t look across the pond because they don’t care enough to do it. It is an attitude I’ve experienced and why the only European car I would consider buying is a Volvo. They care about customer satisfaction and give you a better value for the money. BMW has a much crappier attitude towards its customers.
Anyway, love the M9A1. The only real bitch I’ve had is the erratic “plunk you in the noggin occasionally” ejection pattern. I hear the A2 fixes it. I own the VP9, the PDP (both outstanding), but I love what Steyr did with the grip. That said, I didn’t miss the lacking grip texture on my M9 because it’s ergos are so phenomenally well done. That grip hugs your hand and stays put. Even though it has the extreme Glockesque grip handle, the hump on the back of the grip queues me to point it better than my Glock where you have to learn to roll your wrist unnaturally to point it well. That actually took me a while to master. I picked up shooting the Steyr far easier and to be honest I shoot far tighter groups with it. That along with the much smoother, crisper and lighter non stacky and not crunchy trigger break. Because of the grip angle, very high bore axis and undercut beneath the slide, you can really rock and roll with the gun due to the minimal recoil impulse. But it’s lineage clearly traces back to the Glock, it’s lineage is undeniable. I have heard the guy who helped design it quit Glock because Gaston would not change the line to implement his suggested improvements into the Gen 2 Glock (ironically my G19 is a Gen 2). Glock’s loss was Steyr’s gain. Your message rings true, it is worth it to seek these guns out. Very good pistols with which you can acquire targets quickly because of the unique sight picture and also shoot quickly due to the human engineering and ergos.

I don't know if Steyr has the same marketing exec's as Arex, and Grand Power, but you're right about them sucking! My M9-A2 MF is almost mine (layaway) so I can't wait for that either. I wish I'd never traded away my M-A1 .40 away!

You’ve done a great job marketing Steyer pistols for years now, they should be giving you free guns for all the work you’ve put in.
They should get on board and market them better too. Another great 1776 video 🇺🇸

Personally own a C9,M9, and L9-A2. I'm a big Steyr fan obviously. It's true their marketing is terrible in the states cause every time I take them to a range no one knows what they heck they are and always ask questions. Steyr makes excellent products and everything, that I can attest to. It just seems they are mostly focused on their contracts and don't really care for civilian marketing. To me though just means they should be easier to find when they become available. So a Win for the fans of their products I guess?

Stole mine from Berelli for $300, got a holster from Steyr for 1/2 price and picked up extra normal and low capacity magazines dirt cheap @ Berelli.

Part of their issue is they moved from the old HK import house in Trussville, AL to Bessemer. Damn why. Worked security there and honestly it sucks. I’m from the b’ham area and that along with west end/Ensley homicide district, it’s isn’t where I’d move

STEYR actually had the modular pistol long before sig and just never did anything with it. I've been thinking about grabbing the c9 but can't find one to see how it feels in hand. Maybe I'll just go for it
