I just bought a 1974 Gruen precision 25 jewel NOS in the original velvet lined box. It was a 100 year anniversary gift for the Canadian transportation Authority and was never worn. Serviced and all for 228 bucks. I really like it.

There are more accurate watches but I also like the swiss made 17 jewels movement.
    I own a Transmarine 17j watch.
You have to look after a handwind mechanical watch, it is a kind of teamwork. I love it.
A quarz movment has no character.
Also nice to have a garden, the little things make you happy.

I agree , I looked at this watch and compared it to a Rolex oyster 34 mm, the cost was about 1/10th so I went with it.

So I came across this video randomly because I was looking up growing watches imma watch guy you know myself I'm 35 years old so I'm a lot younger my grandfather left me a Gruen precision that I wore constantly even though there was a diamond missing on a dial it was a slight crack in the bottom of the Crystal but I wore it more for you know remembering my grandfather sentimental you know was more sentimental to me than fashion or time keeping the PIN for the wind would move it didn't work so I was afraid to force it so one day I tried to force it and the button literally came off it was so rusted the pain so for years literally 10 years I haven't been able to get the back of the bottle because it was kind of coronavirus around the same so one day I tried to force it and the button literally came off it was so rusted the pain so for years literally 10 years I haven't been able to get the back of the bottle because it was so old that the scene wouldn't open you know so yesterday it finally opened and let me tell you the movement and the mechanics and side were Immaculate Immaculate I've never seen anything like it in any watch the only thing is I can't get the pain out because it's rusted I'm going to have to take it to a really good watch person that knows how to work on Old watches it's beautiful it's a beautiful watch it's got a 510 movement a diamond at 12,3,6,9 which is surrounded by like it's probably either Silverleaf or like stainless I doubt stainless cuz it's so thin and small it's like a leaf you know like a design like the diamond has a diamond design around it like some kind of metal I really want to get this watch refurbished but it's almost like I don't want it touched it also has a dial at 6 right above it I don't know if that's a second dying or or a minute timer or if that's a date timer I don't know what it is because there's nothing around that it's just a dial within a cross hair and real small very small when I looked at this movement I was stunned because of how old it was and it looks so amazing because I've looked at rolex's with my friends I looked at other movements have looked at Seiko movements I've looked at a lot of watch movements this is just beautiful I'm sorry I had to come back on here and correct something I had to edit this comment the diamonds are at 12,2,8 and 10 do you have any idea how old this watches or when it's from I can't figure out how old it is because it's engraved with my grandfather's name on the back case but the date is 1966 which is Christmas 1966 is the engraving but I feel the watche is much older

Nice watch. Where do you find your vintage watches at?

@@inlandwatchreviews5745 Totally agree with EBay. I find it hard to trust online places for vintage pieces.
