Subscribed! I love watching people discover this wonderful game. You might feel lost at first but you are doing fine. There are many ways to solve the different challenges the game throws at you, and no one right way to play. Explore everywhere, loot everything, talk to everyone (even the animals), save often, long rest often, enjoy learning about your companions, and have fun!
Awesome to watch someone playing this BLIND without the endless thankyous and whatnot to a chat. I definately subscribed and will happily follow you on this amazing adventure. Thank you for having me.
I´m totally with you. I hate it when a streamer plays this game and focuses 95% on the chat and not the game and then doesn't understand anything in the game because HE DIDN'T FOCUS ON THE GAME! So frustrating! Most of the time I feel like they don't care about the games they play. It is more important to attract more viewers, sorry I mean cash cows.
You are the first UA-camr I watch who knows neither this game nor DnD. And obviously didn't do any reseach beforehand. And I love it! And thanks for not doing this on a live stream with 95% of the time eyes on chat (wich we might even don't see). Subscribed
My best advice is to read everything (the game will often tell you what things do) and to just do what you or your character would do! I hope you have fun!
Hey, just found your channel. Don't worry, this game has a steep learning curve and that encounter with the brain guys is meant to teach you some harsh lessons. Here's a basic explainer of how combat works: Every turn, each character in your party has: 1) An action (things like attacks, spells, or a major action like throwing something.) 2) A bonus action (certain attacks, certain spells, drinking a potion, jumping) 3) A certain distance they can move 4) A reaction - something that triggers automatically only in certain situations - don't worry about this at the start. That's why every turn you want to consider how you're going to spend these resources. If you dash, you can get closer to the enemy, but then you can't attack because you spent your action. So maybe it's better to attack with a ranged weapon, let the enemy run to you, (maybe they even use their dash meaning they can't attack that turn!) and then you can melee attack on your next turn when they're in range. The combat gets more interesting as you go along - as you level up you'll be able to do more things per turn.
You are starting an amazing journey! Examine everything and talk to everyone you can, it will enrich your experience to no end. Good luck and enjoy yourself.
Oh wow! You’re playing my favorite game! 😄 And you are doing fine, combat gets easier as you learn you and your companions strengths and skills- The rogue sneak attack is powerful, so would be good to study up on that. Can also use a a second dagger or short sword in off-hand for extra attack. Also they are good with ranged weapons, so could equip one to add a long range attack. Shadowheart is a cleric, so has healing spells, also a powerful attack spell Guiding Bolt. You can also have her equip a crossbow, though her dexterity is low, so maybe stick with magic. Half-Wood Elf & Wood Elf are good choices for Rogue because of the extra movement in combat, so nice choice inadvertent or not-also your character looks very nice, tough but good-looking 👍 And there isn’t a wrong way to play this game-it’s a role playing game, so do what whatever feels right to you or your character. I’ve played as different races and classes and make up little backstories so each playthrough feels a little different. Also different races and classes get different dialogue options, so the flavor is different. (Drow Sorcerer feels very different from High Elf Paladin lol). Looking for to another adventure!
There is no wrong way to play this game. If you find yourself wondering if its possible to do something, yes it is possible and you should try it, especially if it is funny. There are thousands of ways this game can end, so your story, is your story and no one can tell you that you are wrong. Just have fun
I started to watch yesterday, I don't know why but it make me always very happy to see people discovering CRPG in general and BG3 in peticuliar. You wonder often if you play it wrong : it's never wrong because it's your game, your character and your vision of your companions. As long as you play like you think your character would act, it's good. I would like to give you some tips : - F5 allows you to quick save to avoid to return to a save 1h ago if something bad happens. - as it's a video game, the player may think he's supposed to do a certain thing and don't have a lot of alternatives, but in fact there are many way to deal with a situation, even in the middle of a fight : for example, you can run away and when you will be long enough of the ennemies, return to camp to escape the fight, regroup, heal, prepare yourself, or you can try to take advantage of the environment, etc. - you can reactivate the pop-up help menu from the option anytime. they will pop-up again anytime you encounter a specific situation, if first time you've seen them the text was not clear.
One key you'll probably be pressing a lot is left Alt, this will highlight _some_ loot that can be found while navigating the environment, but there seems to be quite a lot that is hidden and left up to the player to find by exploring, observing, and problem solving. I would've missed so much stuff by now if not for pressing that key and I haven't even made it to Act 2 yet on my first playthrough. One more tip on exploring and observing, another person wrote about how you should talk to everyone and read everything, I would extend this to the tooltips of abilities (actions such as Sneak Attack or Piercing Strike) and items by hovering over them and pressing T to Inspect them and learn more. Most will have highlighted terms in the text that can themselves be clicked and/or Inspected to learn more about the game as there is much to learn.
I have played, and theorized, this game alot. This game should not be backseated first playthrough, just play, enjoy and make your choices. It will be fine. Some basic mechanics can be good to learn about, like what stats are good for what classes and that stats should always be in even numbers. If you got any questions, just ask. 99% I can answer them.
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉I simply love watching people (who are new to this type of game) squirm in their seats as the tadpole makes it's first move upwards towards the eye 👁 This will be a wonderful adventure because anybody who can get through the scene of the tadpole going into your eye without qwirmming, means the rest of this game will be a blast!!!!
I'm glad you went balanced. Explorer locks out one of the coolest features in the game: multiclassing. Without multiclassing, you can't do silly stuff like give enough party members 1 level of bard so you can play songs as a band, with different instruments.
You love to Mass Effect you will love this. Just don't forget to explore. Getting to know your interface and what things do is even more important here than in Mass Effect. Also hear things combined in sometimes unpredictable way. And there are usually more than three ways to do a mission here. So don't you worry - everything you do is the right way to do, unless all of your school to die as a result of what you do. Take explanations but don't take suggestions and information that there is only one way to do a mission and you have to do it the way they tell you. You are creating your adventure so just play it and enjoy it, it's yours, it's your story. If you're not happy with the outcome you can always reload or finish the story and start a new one.
Just a hint. To make the game easier you should change the settings to the far left selection. Combats are easier and it spends more time on the story. Later when you master the game perhaps you wont to try a harder version.
You made a pretty solid character for a first playthrough! Not only is she a beauty. A rogue is good at sneaking, so goes unnoticed behind enemies. And as a woody-half-elf you're faster at that. That way you can avoid fights, or if already in a fight, backstab enemies for some nice extra damage. Out of combat you'll be able to unlock doors to take shortcuts and unlock chests without the need of a key, or just steal the key from the owner. Stealing also saves money and if you got caught your charlatan background will help you to talk yourself out of that misery with deception ;)
I would have loved to see you play at the Explorer difficulty level because that's what you would have liked to do. Forcing your decisions because you do it for the video and not for you wanting to do it - that's the wrong way to play.
Too bad you listened to the origin character stories, removes some surprises, game should really warn you. Since you are unfamiliar with DnD and this type of game you can just switch the difficulty to explorer going forward. As someone points out the only thing you cant do is multi class, which honestly IMO as a first time player of this type of game you should just avoid anyway. And you can always switch back. Do not feel rushed about the parasite, you have plenty of time to explore and rest. The game will try to rush you so do not fall for it. Tip: jump first, then move to attack it gets you closer, and you will see later many of the enemies do this. Laezel is not a good archer, should stick to using her as a full on melee fighter. Don not forget your a rogue, so picking locks and disarming traps is your bread and butter. Shadowheart is a cleric and can cast heals also some of her spells are way stronger than her melee attack. Is it supposed to be this hard? Well on explorer the combat is less difficult because the enemies have fewer hit points.

2:26 "I've seen enough anime to know where this is going..." xd
Mind flayer dude (if that's the name, not sure) in the intro looks like he's rocking some fancy daedric armor xd
"I am the one who sunders!"
What a Walter White moment
No way, they put the Wilhelm scream in the intro XD that's gold

Thanks! Yeah it kinda is because when we met Shadowheart I knew about her artifact..although I have no idea what it does, still …
Thanks for tips!🤍
