Master piece of s... The most overrated game ever by far. Terrible game design - move from A to B on one path, avoiding the same repetitive enemies, then go from B to C repeating all over again, doing menial tasks, atrocious gameplay, combat below '90s standards, rudimentary inventory, skills tree non-existent, and the "famous" story is actually 5 minutes long and stolen from the Girl with all the Gifts.

"You're right...You're not my daughter, and I sure as hell ain't your dad." Oh that cutscene. Perhaps one of the best moments ever in gaming. Beautiful.
3 things they need to get right in the remake: 1. The story has to be relatively the same, meaning no major cut content like Capcom’s RE 2-3 Remake 2. The soundtrack - don’t they dare change Gustavo Santaolalla’s iconic first game soundtracks 3. The color and environment. They might seem small, but the color and scenery helps elevate the story in my opinion. The hazy warm color of The Last Of Us makes the game one of the best world’s designs.
I only wished they added a lil bit to make it worth the $70 price point for ps5 and pc it’s a lil excessive but the fact this game is far better than part 2 is nice it’s getting a remaster
I first played this on the ps3, when my brother let me play when he visited, but i only got up to the point where joels and tess meet Marlene. And about 3 years after the remaster was released , i finally got a ps4 and got to play it all the way through. A game hasnt broken me like this since Telltales The Walking Dead.
I’ve just got The Last of us remastered for my birthday and I gotta say the ending got me crying and I’m definitely buying the remake after recently getting it for my birthday
Ten years later and this is still my favorite video game ever made. Once I get a ps5, im gonna get the remade version and play it again for the forst time in over a year. I remember my mom, RIP, had gotten me this game a year after it came out along with a ps3. My sister got me the remastered version for Christmas a few years after that.
Around the 25:00 minute mark, I've been playing this game since the first time I got it on ps3, then remastered on ps4 and now I'm waiting on this to come on ps5. This scene has such emotional weight of making the right choice, which makes or breaks a game. In this case it makes a great game a masterpiece! I mean sure you know where the story's gonna head but it involves you so much in this world you start to wonder if only Tommy would've taken ellie instead of joel. The score, the performance, the timing of the dialogues and the whole atmosphere set is nothing short of academy award winning level. Can't wait to see what Bella and Pedro have for us in the live action series.
I remember renting a PS3 copy from Gamefly in 2014 when I first played it and feeling super surprised by the game's greatness. Got the PS4 remaster as a Christmas gift the same year too.
Of course its still a masterpiece. If its a masterpiece, it doesnt stop being a masterpiece just because time has gone by since its release. Books, music, plays and movies that are all masterpieces dont stop being masterpieces the older they get.
This game saved my GD life. 9 years ago today. Been 7 years (was on subs for 2) sober due to this game.
