The only reason he says “ that’s between him and me” it’s because he didn’t knew anything . They didn’t shared the scoop with him about King Charles or Catherine, Princess of Wales. He’s not trusted not even by his own father .
If King Charles or anyone in the British Royal family tells Harry anything about King Charles or for that matter anyone in the Royal family, they would be crazy. Harry and his wife have proven over and over that they can’t be trusted.
And sadly imo it would have been the UK Govt or MI5/MI6 who likely advised the King on take on that security posture.
The thing that made me uncomfortable about his answer was that it was so juvenile. He could have said, 'That's is my father's personal information to share'.

@@Tomtaylor7337 The interview was scheduled a while back Harry knew the questions that were going to be asked and he was going to be asked about his father. I think he visited his father because he needed answer. He also needed the publicity to connect him to the king before Invictus. It allowed hom to act as though he was representing the crown in Canada. The visit had nothing to do with sentiment but all about pr and public relations as he could have done a Zoom call and had a much longer visit with Charles.

Living in the UK the last couple years I have learned that if the palace wants you to know something THEY will let you know. So his father either told him x y and z and said no not say anything or told him x and kept y and z to himself.

That would mean it is grave and they are keeping it from the public. If it were low risk like when Reagan had it, they would have been honest with the public and Harry to reassure them. They were dishonest with the public about the Queen just having mobility issues when she was dying of cancer.

Harry had 12 minutes with the King. The rest of the time he needed to be security cleared before being in the King’s presence. There’s no trust.

@MissClaireMac He is lucky that he had that 12 minutes even. My dad wouldn't have spoken to me if I had revealed all family privacy and secrets and his not a King. It really wasn't necessary that he revealed all the secrets and privacy inside the RF family. I like Prince Harry but he needs to grow up and stop acting like a troubled teenager.
I’m not a Harry apologist, but I think it’s possible that him saying he was grateful to be able to jump on a plane is an acknowledgement of extreme privilege. Having the means and opportunity to immediately leave a job and family responsibilities and purchase a same day airline ticket to the UK is beyond most people. I think he’s very aware that his life is privileged even if he’s a whiner about it.
Harry didn’t want to get caught in a question trap and tried to shut the interviewer down as soon as they asked him about the King. From there H got flummoxed

Harry saying "I love my family" is kind of a running joke because he says that exact phrase as filler in interviews - usually just before blaming his family for something or saying something horrible about them. He uses it so much, I wonder if it has any meaning anymore.
I said this above, its a diversion tactic, and when he says it, its not about who people assume, its about his own wife and kids. So it’s a filler to put in anywhere he doesn’t want to answer, and it’s a confusion tactic one to disarm and try to gain empathy from. He has does this odd sort of thing all the time, the worse time he tried to divert was when he said his wife never made any racism claims and it was the press, that time he answered the question but shut the interviewer up with the ridiculous answer. But the ‘I love my family’, seems like a go to for him , his PR company have heavily told him to say it when he can, them or his wife!

"That's between me and him" is Harry-speak for "the conversation never got beyond pleasantries". The RF didn't want to share with Harry, and Harry wasn't there out of any real concern for his father.
I love all the people who come watch a video of one of the most objective people on UA-cam, who actively encourages his viewers to look at things objectively and as isolated incidents
And then immediately head to the comments and post extremely opinionated things about how they hate certain people as if those are fact
I envision that conversation having no "pleasantries" but it being a rather brief "Don't speak, Let me make this very clear........." then Harry is sent packing.

A thought… when he talks of ‘his family’ he said himself his family is his wife and kids, not necessarily the RF. That answer is a ‘go to’ for him because he knows people will assume he means the RF, yet he has got away with not answering a question given. He talks a word salad.

Well, Harry said Meg's dad is too embarrassing because he's fat, wears his shirt out and was seen buying beer.
As for him stumbling over his words to me he was trying not to say anything that would upset his wife or anything that would upset the King so stopping any further 12 minute visit in the future. He needs cash from his father which is his major interest not his father’s condition. He is also aware that once his brother becomes the monarch he is totally finished

It was a horrible interview. He didn't really answer any of the questions. I couldn't help but wonder if Henry had got in an argument before the interview. I heard later they were telling reporters not to ask about the children

5:47 I interpreted Harry saying he’s “grateful that he was able to jump on a plane to go visit his father” to mean that he acknowledges he’s in a place of privilege to be able to do this. There are many people in the world that would not be able to financially afford to take time off work and pay for a last minute flight across the world to see a family member who they find out has a health problem.
I have a relative that could be Harry's twin in personality, temperament, and self-obsession. This relative THRIVES on the belief that they are the ONLY person "in the know". They tap dance around any and all inquiries and then dole out carefully worded tidbits as if they are the ONLY person in the world who has this special, tasty information. There are comments Harry makes that are identical to what my relative makes and it's eerie hearing it. I personally don't believe Harry was told a thing and knows nothing more than we do about his father's health. He has proven time and time again that he can't be trusted. Just like my relative.

Very interesting. It's a nightmare to have someone like that in the family. Harry can never be trusted again imho... I had an Aunt just like Meghan Markle. She would stir the pot of drama and victimization, and was in her element after she had created a problem in the family.. She would sit back in glee and watch what she had created. It was always everyone else's fault and never her. She was a complete nightmare and nobody in the entire family could trust her.

I think he was not told anything of significance. The family surely knows they cannot trust him.
Regarding the citizenship question, another reason might be that when becoming an American citizen you must renounce loyalty to any king or queen abroad, and it would add to the family drama and get him more criticism, so it’s not only a matter of feeling American or not, it would be seen as a symbolic way of distancing himself from the royal family even further.
Not to mention having to renounce all foreign titles in order to become a US citizen.
Seeing they have doubled down on their royal identity on their website, becoming an American citizen is tricky. He would have to give up his titles in order to become a citizen… Duke and Prince. With the court case about his visa, minefields abound with the American and citizenship questions.
He also feels the need to separate the families since M and the kids don’t have a relationship with the RF.
H has been told nothing. The fact he couldn’t quietly keep the trip private until after he got back shows why the RF can’t trust him. The travel was play by play reporting on every move coming and going. He spills private info quickly.
The reason he will not apply to be an America citizen he would have to lose his titles the very thing they make their money with

How many hours, after he saw his father did it take for him to talk about it? And how can he say that illness can bring families together when Megan’s father has had a stroke and heart problems? I just can’t believe anything he says.
I commented before I saw the part on why they would’ve cut the comment down about illness in the family. 😆 Exactly what I thought. I feel like Harry doesn’t have people around him that are helping him answer these questions. He’s always a complete mess.
Illness CAN bring families together, not that it's the case in this instance. It's vague and general and, as usual, means nothing.
Usually what Harry says is the opposite of his actions. This is no exception. The way he treats his family and the way he supports his wife’s treatment of her family is a total contradiction of his shallow words, which mean nothing.

I I mentioned this before, those words ‘I love my family’, he pops in as a diversion when he doesn’t answer a question, as he did here. The thing is it’s all smoke and jmirrors, it’s a diversion. He was the one that called his wife and kids, HIS family (he doesn’t refer to the Royals as his family). So perhaps the statement is true, but he is not talking about whom everyone ‘assumes’ he is so he can’t be seen as telling lies.. it’s to confuse and disarm. I’m sure that what both of them do all the time, Harry has always had this tactic, to try and divert, or avoid, or mislead, but all to his own advantage.

What do you think a working family Royal is? Working royal! Look at it… because you are born with this title now you have to serve it. You have to abide to its rules and decisions as it is. You have little say but to contribute as you are told. I wonder how you would do in that position. I don’t think it’s easy to say the least. I think it could a greater abuse to expect Harry to blindly participate in the family business than what Harry is selling as his own experiences with his family. The coin has two sides. I see a lot of families that its children want nothing to do with the family business. I think this is quite normal. I also think it’s normal when that happens to have a different perspective on the dynamics of the relationships that pulled you away from it in the first place. I understand your position as People in general have a tendency to not support the one going away. The edit was because of his treatment of his grandparents when they were dying, the Oprah interview, and how he refused to see her when invited before her death and when he refused to attend his grandfather’s memorial. Also, how Megan neglected her family’s illness.

Given H's track record of revealing personal details about his family and the response in the interview, I'm confident he doesn't have any detailed information. To back up this belief, H would tell MM and she has a KNOWN history of leaking to the press. The RF is well aware of her behavior and sadly for H, he is not trusted and now will not be privvy to personal/private information about any senior Royal. In the questions about American citizenship, H is the subject (not party) to a lawsuit about his immigration status AND he also knows American citizenship does require rennouncing his titles. I'm surprised he gave even a hint of "thinking" about it in light of the lawsuit and the understanding MM is NOT giving up her only currency of connection to the RF through those titles.
Knowing what many of us know about their actions, words, and propensities what I saw was an individual uncharacteristically awkward and unprepared for an interview he/his team set up in advance. Thank you for a more objective analysis, Spidey.

As Harry once said ‘it’s what you don’t say that matters’. Watching his interviews, he regularly uses this stand when he does not want to reveal the truth.
I think a lot of these questions were off-putting because they weren’t a natural question for the occasion. I think he agreed to an interview about the Invictus. The questions about Charles were predictable, and his hesitation may be because he would have been warned that speaking about the Royal Family is off limits if he ever wants to be included. Based on the brevity of the visit, he may actually not have been told anything other than what has been announced publicly. So, I agree with #3. Just my opinions….

That's my opinion. His dad has cancer, I imagine Harry understands this isn't the topic to continue his feud around. At his core, he's a royal & he knows the rules. He's chosen to break loads due to his trauma, but if his dad might die, he would surely know not to get himself banned from the palace permanently right now over this issue by blabbing.

But as someone who works in urology, given the King’s age and when they say it was found, it might be a really big deal. It also might be a minor issue- small bladder tumors can easily be removed and treated with Gemcitabine. The surgeons I work with do it ALL the time. And the cancers most often found when doing a regular prostate exam are either prostate or bladder. And as they said it’s NOT prostate cancer, it’s most likely bladder. So that’s why I’m making that ASSUMPTION. It is an educated guess, nothing more.
I’ve heard that prostate cancer is one of the slowest growing cancers , and many men die(if elderly) of something else unrelated to the cancer..

Your comment about illness bringing the family back together is really interesting and I think your reasoning is excellent.
My first thought was that he added something like "but the ball's in their court" or "but that's up to them" like he does in other interviews amd realized it would come off badly.
He is expecting apologies and to be given a free pass without he and Meghan owning up to what they have done or their lies with his family forgetting and forgiving everything and rewarding them by bringing them back as working royals.

I agree with this. I think that he just didn't verbalize it well in the moment. There's also alot going on, on both sides that are nuanced and unfortunate that would also seem very difficult to convey in a short interview outside in the cold like that. There's some things between the lines that I understand, not that I'm a huge Harry or RF fan but there seems like there are a few answers at *least* to each question answered that would be right. Unfortunate family dynamics.

People who present as having a secret that they simply cannot share usually have nothing to share at all. We can only guess at what might have been said (that's if they actually had a face to face, or even telephone, conversation). It's interesting to listen to all the analyses of the people who upload these channels.
In my opinion, Henry couldn’t be privy to any private info about any of the RF members. He (and his wife) have proven to be very untrustworthy. I think we’re seeing his true personality publicly now because he’s been on his own. He doesn’t get the media training he used to and is no longer protected or enabled by his family. He is not the “funny” light hearted prince anymore. He comes off as petulant, condescending and rude.

He, along with his wife, is highly respected for both his individual humanitarian activities as well as the contribution he has made to the global community in partnership with MM. It is ironic that they remain the most popular royals on the planet, by a significant, margin, but their popularity, and the respect of some of the most respected philanthropist and humanitarian organisations in the world is largerly due to their rejection of the anachronistic values of the RF, and their insistance on living off the earnings of the significantly less privileged taxpayer, and on money that could be better used actually assisting the needy and providing much needed community services. Just look at what happened when William tried to present himself as relevant on the global stage as a statesman of sorts with his ill-advised self invited trips to the US, where he tried desperately to impose himself on the time of VIPS and people with actual jobs - most of whom have either worked with the Sussexes on philanthropic ventures or were eager to do so - in order to get a selfie for PR purposes. He was rejected by all, ridiculed, and humiliated and left in no doubt what people actually interested in benefiting the needy thought of a billilnaire who lives off the earnings of others trying to use them for paucity purposes. The RF is the antithesis of the type of endevours that has seen the Sussexes become so highly regarded by the philanthropic and humanitarian community, including heads of governments, the military (the leadership of NATO themselves asked the Sussexes for a selfie, so eager are they to be associated with them) and a by seemingly everyone interested in making a contribution to the global community. As much as there is no doubt that elements in both the Firm and in government regret that the are not in a podition to claim the Sussexes' success, popularity, and global respect for the RF and the UK, and while he may prove to be willing to do his sick dad a favour now and again - he is a British Prince after all - returning to fold permanently is hardly likely to be an attractive proposition to him. True, the RF get paid approximately £350 million in taxpayer funds per year regardless of having no function or how many or few "duties" they claim to perform, whether they work or not and even if they are a demostrable criminal and pedophile. However, there is neither dignity nor respect in being paid by an organisation so corrupt that they even continue to waste taxpayer funds on maintaining Andrew in the lap of luxury. William and Kate, of course, have managed the remarkable feat of becoming middle-aged without a single notable accomplishment between them. Not one. Kate has disappeared under mydterilus circumstances, and William, too, has decided he needs to lighten his workload - for some inexplicable reason - yet neither seem to have had a reduction in pay to reflects their severely diminished, if ever existent, workload. Hardly the type of behaviour guaranteed to gain you global respect. Besides, regardless of the endlessly flow of taxpayer largesse, the RFs days are obviously numbered, and even if Harry was inticed by a life on easy street, how long would it last. William, the supposed future king, has not been entrusted with a crown/state relsted redponsibility since his and Kate's disastrous and humiliating tour of the Caribbean. Even with Charles being sick with cancer, neither the Firm nor actual decision makers in government with responsibility for Britain's international standing and image are willing to entrust William with any additional "duties" in which his ineptitude might bring further embarrassment to the UK. There really is no point in engaging in niceties or diplomatic euphemisms anymore. William is an objective idiot who is clearly too stupid and incompetent to be allowed to represent a nation such as the UK and only those determined to lie to themselves would claim not to recognise that fact. His prospects of becoming king are virtually zero, and even if by some miracle, he actually ascended to the throne his trnure would be short-lived, and even the RF recognises how disastrous it would be for their interests and prospects of getting away with as many riches as they can hide when the inevitable occurs. Why would Harry want to go back to an institution that is already considered an international laughing stock by the few international observers who are even aware of the RFs existence and whose prospects of surviving beyond Charles lifetime - and at this stage, even that is optimistic - are zero, nada, nicht, kaput, off with the fairies and in the land of the unicorn? It just doesn't make sense. If it wasn't for the fact that Kate's social climbing instinct kept her hanging around for 9 years (a third of her lifetime at the time) while the RF clearly continued to look for a more "suitable" candidate for the job of William's wife, it is very likely that it wod have cost the RF a lot more than just a further dint in their dignity to hire someone else to pretend to be attracted to him. If the prospect of becoming queen isn't enough to attract anyone other than a Middleton to the RF, you know the writing is on the wall, and there is more profit, both on a personal level and and in terms measured in dignity and the respect of others and with regard to long-term financial considerations, in staying well away.

Feel sorry for Harry's kids who will never experience the joy of being part of one big extended happy family.
