“He’s just a brat” - perfectly sums up Ryuk’s amusement and disdain.
I just want to appreciate the Japanese for going all out with the religious symbolism that the English seems to tone down. He sure does think he's the Messiah huh.
Ryuk is just funnier and more like he's just trying to have fun messing with humanity

I usually prefer the english demos, but gods do I love Ryuk screaming "Thank you, baby!" at the end.
The lyrics on this one are also a bit better I feel.
I gotta say I prefer the tone of the Japanese ryuk's lines, and the bluntness of L, but otherwise I agree, the english versions sound great.
@@TheChaosCorvid I think they all did great, and I would listen to either version of the characters, except Soichiro. Micheal Lanning blows the Japanese actor out of the park.
I would say that, overall, the demos have better vocals. However, I prefer the acting and lyrics of the Japanese version in almost every song.
I like how much more blatantly mocking the lyrics for this version is compared to the English, which was already plenty mocking
I like these lyrics better. I didn't even realise Ryuk was mocking Light the first few times I listened to the english version, but the Japanese makes it so much more obvious what hes doing and I find it hilarious.
I love the chorus in this! I didn't know I what I was missing listening to the English version but it really improves it!

It took me too long to realize that the name キラ (Kira) is the transliteration of “killer”. 🤦🏼♂️Ryuk really didn’t put a lot of thought into giving Light an alias.
Ryuk didn't give him the name, his followers did.
@@LyricNear thanks for the clarification, it's been a long time since I read or watched the original Death Note. The Netflix film killed all my interest in a rewatch. (Even though the original creators had little to nothing do with it)
Kira is also the hindi word for light
