- This is the Japanese translated version of the song "I'm Ready" made for the 2015 Japanese production.
I do not own Death Note the Musical or anything to do with it.
Music: Frank Wildhorn
Lyrics: Jack Murphy and Ivan Menchell - Комедії
I feel like Misa in the English version is more fit for American pop while Misa in the Japanese version is more fit for jpop :0
Perfect match
Both her voices in the English and Japanese musical are so appropriate for their respective languages and performances
Whilst this version is an absolute bop in it’s own right, I definitely get why they changed Misa's character/personality for the US version. This Misa has a cutesy pop idol style that fits better with her anime counterpart, but that kind of thing just doesn’t tend to sell in America so they had to make her more mature and less cute.
This Misa though? I would give my life for her.
The US version came before the Japanese and Korean versions, FYI.
@@hazeykayy while the English concept album came before any stage or concert productions (Russia had a concert version), the source material is more closely adhered to with this casting choice. However, I would gladly listen to concept album Misa sing just about anything.
The Korean and Russian (Mercedesz Csampai) versions are somewhere between the two.
while i love the voice for misa in english, misa’s voice in japanese is better suited for the jpop style of this song
I think of the English version more as like disco. When I listened to the English soundtrack for the first time i almost fell out of my chair I was like WHY IS THERE DISCO IN a musical. But I was here for it
You took off the best part of the song, Ryuk singing at the end...
ArturM I Didn’t take it off. It wasn’t on the recording.
Ryuk certainly was one of the many things that made this number for me; the other being Misa's incredible voice.
All finished! Time for (another) break. But don't worry, I'll be back eventually to work on the Korean versions. Hopefully more recordings will have popped up by then.
