I think it’s harder to find another IFV or tank squad that has great cohesion. We had a few matches with some crazy squads. We were doing invasion and all the vehicles did a somewhat v shaped assault with infantry loaded up, it was dope seeing the Bradley’s and the m1’s assaulting an air base while infantry pushed behind us and then we had another two squads dude push from the left doing a L shaped ambush

Reminds me how I used to fly back on OG Battlefield: Desert Combat and Battlefield: Vietnam with my mouse sensitivity set to 100%.
Nothing was safe from my air superiority, even if I was flying empty defenseless choppers, startling enemy aircraft and shutting down their flying.
Imagine doing supply runs and recon while your team is in vehicles.

Nice. I used to be a heli pilot in Arma3. I have to say that i admire the server stability and your low ping guys. If you try to fly this close to one another in arma, you'll be a fireball in a few seconds.

A 4k+ pilot would have known to bank to the right or left when taking direct line-of-sight BTR fire.
Arma pilot here: Every time you get a good insert, just remember that there were likely 10 crashes in singleplayer per good insert in multiplayer

As a helicopter maintainer I cringe every time I see some of those moves. I can already imagine all the issues they’d cause irl.

Really hope they fix the flight physics tho, that’s the big reason I don’t fly on squad personally. After flying in some of our flight sims in the military it genuinely feels wrong flying in squad 😮💨
agreed, they really need to make helis abit more realistic.
I think the intention is not to simulate realism but to have a blend of realistic/cool looking helicopter flying ONCE the built in arcade like difficultly to flying has been mastered.
It's actually harder to fly in Squad than in most other games that have a user controlled helicopter, and I think it's so not just anyone that has some game flight experience from other games can simply transfer their skills over.
Whether that's good or bad really depends on the end user.. 🤷🏻♂️

Wow you’re so much cooler than me! Never played with me before and have no idea what the situation was like during that game. There’s a reason that I take clips from multiple different games over a few days and put them into a video.
The reason: I only “fly around aimlessly” in videos is because that’s what the majority of my viewers are here to see. And I only do that when theres nothing else I can do.
Even then it’s not aimless. I’m trying to see where the enemies are and give call outs while not flying in a straight line to make it easy af to shoot me down

I fly with joystick and keyboard, I’d say I’m an intermediate pilot. Can do all the fancy stuff pretty comfortably but my positioning and scouting is hit or miss.
I play Arma and always in whitelist when using keyboard mouse in 44th battalion for heli pilot and after using joystick i feel uncomfortable flying with it
And im wondering why no supplies getting delivered to my front FOB. Pilots having a blast. 😂
we do this type of flying after we load up all the habs that need supplies. team always comes first.

I shoot stuff while I fly on global escalation and vanilla... ge has Cas helis with rockets, and I just swap to the door gunner mid flight in vanilla.
Helicopters in squad is NOTHING like DCS. It would be a lot easier if it was tho
I gave up on squad choppers after just 10 hours of practice or so. The controls, physics and logic of squad choppers is just dumb really.

I never got the hang of Helis in Squad. Arma? Easy mode. DCS? No problem. Just couldn't get my HOTAS and pedals to work properly in Squad.
keyboard and mouse is superior in squad. but my buddy @evasive_rabbi could probably give u some tips with the hotas setup
It’s because squad isn’t a flight sim. It flys nothing like any aircraft on planet earth and defies the laws of aerodynamics.

That'd be because your hotas and pedals were designed to work with something that resembled an aircraft in its flight behaviour ! KB and Mouse works better in this.

What have you bound your unload/load logistics buttons to? I used to bind them to my mouse side buttons but I use my mouse side buttons for comms now.
i have 2 mouse side buttons that i use to unload, and i use "2" and "3" to load. i find that using mouse to unload helps me control the hover when dropping supplies a lot better. (i still use the standard comms buttons)

@@meatplow790 i set it up correctly but the supply bar visible in the hud doesn’t update when I unload the supples. It continues to show 900 ammo 600 build even though holding F shows that the heli is totally empty. Have you experienced this?
yes i have... were you by chance in an offline training server testing it out? if so, try going to an online server. if not, then just get in and out of the heli until the bar changes.

@@meatplow790 if you have interest in flying on a multiplayer server most people use the open beta version, 2.9 that is what ED updates first. However if you don't want to do MP then you can fly the stable version which is the 2.8
