Yeah we love this type of lock here!! Unfortunately there is a lot of van theft over here and even fitting the Van locks sometimes isn’t enough of a deterrent! Thieves have started cutting holes in the roof!!!
I’ve just fitted the same locks to my 2016 Custom. I hate the way the side loading door cylinder doesn’t come out straight, and comes out at an angle, because of the shape of the inside of the door. Also, mine came with an extra stainless steel filler piece for between the lock case and the door. The angle makes it look like it’s not fitted correctly. I wish they’d supplied like a tapered filler piece with it, to square the cylinder up with the outer door skin. I also fitted the internal and external locking shields to barn door and side loading door.
Hi biggest question I have as I’ve just purchased the rep lock can someone force the whole barrel with a flat head screwdriver as the key slot is pretty large thanks
Hey mate. Sorry I’ve only just seen this message. The compressor is an Einhell 50l upright compressor from Toolstation. The rivet guns are from Amazon mate. I’ve just remembered that I put this on the UK LOCKSMITH HUB a couple of days ago 😂
what about andy?!...I follow your work on youtube and I learn a lot, they are excellent videos, I live in Brazil and I learn a lot more about the profession with your videos, thanks!! 😅
Hi, When you fitted the keep on the side door it is positioned on the outside of the rubber door seal. What prevents water from running down the van and entering the keep i.e into the body panel? Thanks for the videos, very interesting 👍🏻
Good stuff. I don't see retrofits in the states. On the front door locks, does the new cylinder hook up to the existing linkage? The mortise locks look like what we call AdamsRite in the states. Bascially storefront mortise locks. We run 100-150 auto calls a week believe it or not. We run 24/7 Mostly lockouts but also lost keys, bad ignitions. We have trouble here with aftermarket transponders. Really bad ratio getting them to program. Do you see that as well?
Hey Scott. Yea the front door locks link to the existing system. However, due to the new design makes it much more difficult to manipulate the lock. Yes we also have Adam’s Rite locks over here and you’re correct, they are very much like those. That’s a lot of calls man 👌🏼👌🏼 Thanks for watching 😊🙏🏼
@@brighton_locksmith I watched your van tour vid and understand your situation a little better. If I can give you some advice. Hook up with the auto clubs. I imagine they have them in the UK. They don't pay as much for a call as you normally charge but they can give you volume. 95% of the calls are lockouts. Most pay up to a certain price and the balance is paid by the member to you. Those are usually for lost keys otherwise no money changes hands which I also love. I would rather do 4-5 quick lockouts than spend hours on a transponder key hoping and praying it actually programs. Every week money is deposited into my account. No billing no advertising at all. The calls just come in. I have 3 guys on the road 24/7. We are also in a populous area. Back in the day I would do an occasional business and residential but not in years. Just autos.
Quick question. Can a single lady install these? My body shop looked at them in the package and said it would take several days to do and it was too complicated for them.
Absolutely!! As long as you have the right tools. All the locks come with fitting instructions too. I have another video coming out on Sunday evening which is all about fitting van locks so make sure you tune into that 😊
Great video and well presented.
Nice work you have done 💯💯💯👍
Thanks Steven 😁
And thank you for watching 🙏🏼
Nice job.
Thanks mate
Great job!! Cheers for that
Glad you enjoyed it mate 👍🏼
I have never seen locks fitted to a van like that before. We normally see the puck locks used. Very interesting.

@@brighton_locksmith yeah, I watch UA-cam videos of guys tracking stolen equipment in the UK, and it's usually found inside a stolen van.
Nice job and extremely useful bit of info 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Glad you found the video useful.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

Thieves do have a tool that can unlock any keyholes.
It happened to my van driver door keyhole and back door keyhole as well as my deadbolt keyhole.

@@zezuntxiduntxi don't use locks with key holes accessible to thieves is key.
Where did you get the Led lights in the back of the van from?
They are just from eBay mate. Only cheap but work a treat 😁

My transit side door is permanently locked as the key just keeps spinning inside the lock. Any tips on how I can gain access again?
Can you unlock those from the inside? I’m thinking of getting some for my camper but need to get out lol
I unfortunately you can’t get access to the cylinder from the inside 😐
Thanks for watching 😊🙏🏼

How much do you charge for the same setup?
Music is rough on the ears
use red lipstick instead of grease
That would also work 😁
Are you from winsford cheshire mate
