Cheers Thanks!! I found my motor was working after I took it out. But the slides and rubbers for the windows were in need of a clean and spray with a dry lube. That fixed it.
Well done Mike, great instructional video. Looks like I have to do that job on my Territory as i already replaced the switch and the windows still doesn't work. Thanks so much for posting.
Nice , im hoping to repair the motor , I Can not believe how tiny that motor is. last time i fixed one of these was in a Holden VL commodore a car from 1986 and the motors were huge compared to the territory , crapped out after years of service it was maybe 2010 i did that job for a friend. I should do a vid on if i can repair said tiny motor in my 1/2 bung territory.
I had this problem with my 2012 territory recently 2021, i watched this video( very good) but suggest after removing s/w bank from door, remove wireing loom from s/w bank & give connections a bit of blow out then reconnect, sliding in & out a couple of times(to clean contacts), also work s/w a few times. Worked for me & saved time & money. Good luck.
update , motor incredably easy to repair , remove rubber seal ,unsolder the connecter and the motor basically pulls apart ,clean the communtator with a pencil eraser reinsert resolder , it seemed to be brushless in their - run some silicon spray around the tracks ,you now have a recon window motor and a working window - great vid i done motor repair before just getting to it on these modern cars - once out it may appear to work but it needs a clean - thanks for the tips , total cost 10$ for the silicon spray
I have an FG G6 and smoke so my drivers window is up and down alot. The motor is done. Being in lockdown no wreckers open can I use the motor from a back window on the front? Are all motors the same? Or right left front back specific? Great vid btw thanks mate
The drivers side window doesn't go up or down, all the other windows work. I check the fuse and there fine, do u think its the switch or the motor? Thank u in advance 5:27
Hey! I’m a bit stuck. I’ve removed the three screws holding the motor in place but it won’t pull out. It comes out part of the way a d then gets pulled back in. Have I missed something?
I have sold the car already. Not sure if it is still working? I might make a few videos regarding my other car soon (2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3ltr Diesel, Limited). Finding time is my issue....
Great video Mike. I have followed all the steps. My drivers side window does not go up or down. When I check the motor with a multi meter I get a reading of 12v when switch is up but zero when switch is down. Does this mean the motor is the problem or the switch. ?
your meter should read positive one way and negative the other. Zero means no current flowing. The motor will only do what it gets told to do with positive or negative. Most likely something wrong with your switch, if I understand your question correctly?
I am not sure but I would think it will be the same as the other side. Just try it out and let everyone know in this comment section, please. Good Luck and have fun!
Hi Mike, looks like it's in the opposite direction I.e we have to rotate outwards towards us. but the motor shaft keeps bumping out. still trying to make it go up.
You have to apply constant pressure to the shaft while turning. This is why I used the socked to wedge between frame and motor to prevent it from popping out.
make sure the shaft of the motor is pushed in all the way and really hard while winding it up. I have it braced against the frame to ensure it doesnt back out, if you look closely. Hope it works ;)
Well done if only the wreckers and auto electrical operators would be good and honest, instead of telling you you need to replace the motor and complete assembly or regulator, plus window switch and then labour to fit all up if you even use 2nd hand parts it costs over 350.00 easy, with 2nd hand parts, so just be honest that way you will always have a customer to fix your car when things go wrong?
5:52 what tool is that called that was used to manually get the window back up? If I don't have that tool, what alternatives are best? Im also waiting on getting a new motor from the wreckers. Thanks mate
It is the old motor itself that I pulled out of its housing. When turning the motor counter clockwise it pushes back. To prevent the pushback I use any socket on a handle the jam between the motor and the door frame. This way you can close the window just by turning the motor. I hope this makes sense....
@@rebeccawollert1699 yep that has cleared everything up and made it much easier to understand :) thanks again mate! This is the only helpful video on UA-cam
This would have to be one of the best how to videos I have ever watched. Thank you so much.

Very good instructions. Really like the way you show the door handle mechanism from a different angle to show how it all works. Very good
You are a life saver! Best instructions I’ve seen 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial. As Imoverit2 said, one of the best how to videos i have watched.
Everything I needed to know and nothing I didn’t. Absolutely superb!!!

How to use wires on the front left door windows it has burn
I done this but my indicators and hazards won’t work now 🥺 anyone know what I’ve done? Checked all fuses but they’re all good.

Is your motor still working? Only problem with putting secondhand stuff in….its as old as the one that is coming out of it

sorry for late reply - haven't been on for a while. I think I paid about $100 for the second hand part.

My motor just won't come out. All 3 screws are out and it won't budge.
Ok I got the bastard out! Now to order a new motor and manually wind it up.
Great video by the way. 10/10.
