Every dead island and dying light fan should know by now not to expect much from the story
Exactly we all knew the story is not going to be good thats why all these youtubers that call the game dissapointing jumped in the game expecting RDR2 type of writing only to leave being dissapointed. As a zombie game fan chopping zombies is all we asked for and Dambuster delievered. After all we didn't buy the game for the story. We bought the game for the gameplay.
Story is just a a distraction from the main thing, busting skulls and chopping of arms or split a mfer in two. That's the reason I play and love DI and DL 1-2, the gore and violence. I know it sounds like edgy 12yo but it's just so damn satisfying drop kicking a zombie of a roof and watch them go full ragdoll.
Game was ass when I first bought it but all that change the moment I unlocked the block mechanic 😂😂😂😂😂. Game became fun as fuck and the more I leveled up the more fluid my play style became.
I actually liked the story of Dying Light and Dead Island.
@@mr.2cents.846 They weren't good though
I just dont understand what people wan't dl2 released and everybody was saying it felt like a Ubisoft open world game and how it felt empty and now this game releases and now gamers are complaining its way to small compared to dl2 and how expectations have changed
Maybe DI2 didn't feel like a chore to play and the environment is interesting enough to keep them wanting more.
I like Dying Light 2 sure enough but after a while it's just too open with too little at the moment. First time you play it through its not as enticing. Dead island 2 is a breath of fresh air tbh, thing is gamers don't know what they want though
@@Karpedk I love the sive of Dead Island 2 the areas feel way more polished than a open world game
people just need to make their own games bro if they want something their way they can go do it their self
DL2 was fun for me. I feel like it would have been more fun with friends. But once you get the paraglider I spend the whole game flying, kinda like the first one and the grapple hook. I hated the grapple hook in 2 though.
This game is phenomenonal but i feel like i have to purposely take my time with it or else ill finish everything too fast lol. Great game. Best gore physics I have EVER seen
Ahah i am in the exact same boat,38% of the game in 28 hours.
I bought Dying light 2 at the same time , there is so much to do. I don’t have this feeling with DI2 , I know if I rush the story will end too fast..,
Yeah I took my time took me a week to beat
I Co-sign
Yes and I love the details of the places. No store or apartment is copy and paste. Imagine a Dying Light game open world with that level of detail. The immersion would be off the charts.
@@TheStraightestWhitest I wouldn't say all of the characters are bad, if this game wasn't purposely having cheesy B-movie-esque writing, then I would say they all were. Jacob & Ryan are pretty good, especially Ryan, he can be funny without using corny jokes and quips, and is serious when the situation calls for it.
The big issue with the card system is that every character is basically the same. Attributes don't really impact gameplay. So the only real difference between characters are 2 innate, unique cards. In previous games, every character had unique skill trees AND fury modes.
Just use the card with character drawn in it. That'll make them feel distinct from each other. The system allows shared usage of cards is to unlimit players preferences.
@@furyrust That's not good enough, Every character still feels the same.
@@gregxcoree "feel the same"? seriously lol. How can they feel the same.
Each character has thier own specific attributes and exclusive cards. Each promote different type of playstyles its up to you to choose the cards
@@Bandxithahaha you don't know fuck all about the game
I actually, and this may be a really hated opinion, like how overpowered we become throughout the game. I really like how, because you properly took the time to explore and live in the world, you're now powerful enough to just woop everyone's ass
Edit: We've been noticed by the one person with direct access to Techland. TELL THOSE FUCKERS TO ADD THE GOD DAMN POSTER WEAPON AS A VIABLE WEAPON. 300DMG AS A GOLDEN WEAPON IS NOT ENOUGH
Edit 2: Shit editing removed the heart. God damnit
I agree but to compensate they should double or triple zombie spawns excluding apex variants. Game feels kinda empty unless you trigger an alarm or something.
I love that as well and that you can control your beast mode at any time. It really gives what dying light 2 shouldve. Id say thats a point for dead island on that.
@@kingkuder8427 agreed
Love your writing.
I hope they add some kind of “hardcore” mode later on that makes feel like a true survival game all the way into end game
I think di2 is exactly what it's suppose to be. And I think OG fans got exactly what they were waiting for. And for once we got a finished product instead of a rushed mess from development hell. Dambuster deserves ALL the credit for delivering what they did and how, nearly 100% bug free mind you and I'm super excited to see what they bring to the plate in the future.
Ive been waiting for a sequel since the first came out, and i love this game! But i was a little disappointed with the fact they didn't make a huge open world. But at the same time i do really like the small maps
@@ryangartland2845I think making it less open world was the best choice because the world is so detailed and feels like it was lived in not every game has to be open world to be enjoyed and the areas are pretty big to be fair Im really enjoying this game got on sale the other day and it was well worth it.
The reused animations was one of my nitpicks too. I grew to love the combat/military knives with headhunter style, but quickly noticed every charged heavy to the head resulted in the same animation with the same eye always flying off in the same direction.
You are saying it like if Dying light 2 didn't got us used to that already LMAO
I'm actually really hopeful for a sequel. We need to consider that they had to start development at the end of a development hell cycle. This time they just get to make the game from the start and they already have the gore tech made so they don't have to put development time on it.
It is a sequel
@@TheStraightestWhitest Some things from alpha builds by the other 3 dev teams made it into the final game. The 4 characters from the Jäger build would later become Amy, Carla, Ryan, and Jacob
@@TheStraightestWhitest exactly. Now it's not such a jump to make even more improved zombie games 😁
@@cjdanger78 imagine deep silver bought more zombie game licenses and make Dambuster work on that all.
Yeah, if this is the base and they don't mess it up, this has some potential
It so crazy that almost 10 years ago I was insanely hyped for Dead Island but became obsessed with Dying Light but now near 10 years later, I'm obsessed with Dead Island 2 when I was insanely hyped for Dying Light 2
It’s everything I expected, and I absolutely love it! They done everything so well for me. The scenery, characters, storyline and ofcourse the combat. It’s so brutal and it’s brilliant! But there is one annoying thing, you can’t shut doors! 🤣
Some of them close behind you but yeah most can't be closed
what I hate in this game is the immunity zombies have to certain elements. I'd get it if a fire zombie got reduced damage from my flaming sword but no he's completely immune. despite the fact that my sword has a fire element it is STILL a sword which should damage which is why I never opted for elemental damage and went with force upgrades 90% of the time.
I agree. You should be able to chop a head off with a sword regardless. I still love the game though.
It adds variety so you can’t use the same mods all game. Gotta have a diverse arsenal.
@@ITMT. my impactor mods still going strong though. Its the only thing ive been using because the immunity to the elements is annoying. Resistance yes, immunity no.
If nothing else, I hope the excellent combat and visuals will serve as a foundation for a truly phenomenal game in the future.
I'd be pretty stoked if we got 1 or 2 more dead island games from this dev. Definitely prefer this franchise over Dying Light and Dambuster have shown that they can handle the series very well.
I prefer dying light over dead island, to be fair the games are pretty heavy in contrast, one is a campy zombie slaughter game, and the other is a serious parkour zombie game. And of course all opinions are subjective.
@@redactedtom I'm definitely a huge fan of both since they each share a lot of DNA, DI2 taking a lot from Dying light, such as the drop kick. Something about the Romero esque zombies, the campy tone and the focus on pure combat just personally vibe with me more. I definitely understand why Dying light is generally more popular though.
No way bro Dying Light 1 is still vastly superior (The Following DLC multiplayer with Hunter invasion enabled).
@@miketexas4549 Dying light definitely has more going for it. Nothing quite beats the Following. I just prefer Dead Island because I like the more "classic" kind of Romero zombies and the focus on just pure combat with the dynamic gore system. I'm on my third playthrough of DI2 and still every zombie death looks incredibly unique. Sometimes it's almost artistic just how much you can fuck up a single zombie with a golf club, seriously, the gore is incredible.
btw. regarding the modding, if you go for limb katana with limb mod and those 2 you mentioned (electric) you oneshot boom regular zombies and if there are alphas they lose most of their to chain reaction, so its like 3 swing pack kill
My only complaints are that sometimes there won’t be a zombie in sight (Venice beach sometimes) and that the lost and found clues could be a little better.
I’ve had a to use a guide a few times to figure out where to go.
A competently put together game considering it spent a good chunk of time in development hell. Hopefully NG+ drops soon so i have an excuse to jump back in!
Ur excuse is that u like killing zombies smh
I find myself in dead island 2 spending hours in the same location just leveling up and absolutely loving doing so im level 15 and im only just got to Beverley hills for me it's a dying light 2 beater , the photo realism is what I find so emersive just like dying light 1
@@TheStraightestWhitestthats what makes me sad. This game for me would be a 9 if it had NG+. but as of right now, its a 7.5
@@TheStraightestWhitest I’m sorry if this is obvious but could you clarify what NG+ is?
@@TheStraightestWhitest So the main takeaway is being able to keep your maxed out loot and weapons in a new game save? Also Which characters have you tried out already? And was the dialogue better in some over others
After all the disappointing games we have gotten over these past few years especially in the zombie genre I give Dead Island 2 a 10/10 just because they worked so damn hard on it and didn’t give us a broken game from launch like so many others. I’ve only five Dying Light 1 a 10/10 and I still believe that to this day. But yeah I love Dead Island 2 for not giving us broken promises like so many others before and that’s saying something
Yea we can't complain much about dead island 2 because it was from scratch
Love your videos! So glad I stumbled upon your channel :)
Dead Island 2 overall surpassed my expectations for what I actually thought would release Day 1. I mean you have to give credit where credit is due: The game runs flawless day 1 one which is a godsend for gaming nowadays, the flesh system was never done before in any zombie game, and lastly how well they captured the feel and vibe of the first game into Dead Island 2. I think I personally never liked Dying light 2's world choices of having everything being makeshift like the weapons and how ppl lived above ground now during the apocalypse.
I think it just felt like a bad choice of world crafting that opened up less gameplay mechanics for players and hindered the experience overall. On the contrary, Dead Island 2's weapons are actual real life tools and weapons you would actually use in a zombie apocalypse imo. Obviously both game take place during different times of the apocalypse but Dying light 1's world choice just was smart if that makes sense. Dying light 2's has alot of shortcoming for me more than Dead Island 2 does and idk if that's due to how rough of a launch the game had with broken COOP, broken zombie animations, physics (which it still DOES unfortunately think it will never get fixed due to a new engine handling the game) , etc. I just truly think that Dead Island 2's overall identity as a pure zombie game is way more realized and fleshed out than Dying light 2 will ever be as a zombie game imo.
Dying Light 2 and Dead Island share alot of differences and similarities but at the end of the day, you're just wanting a fun zombie sandbox you can run around in a kill some zombies with a few homies!
Man I don't know what it is about your videos. But your editing, the background you use, the music that plays, it makes me feel all floaty and ethereal watching it. In a good way, mind you. Just totally absorbed watching it^^ You've really come a long way since I first discovered you!
Thank you ❤
Based on how they did the dialog they could of just let you create your own custom character with one of six voices. I think that would of been better overall.
I'm glad someone mentioned the big hoard at the military base I'm guessing a future dlc they have to do something with it
My opinion: wait for 50% sale. The game need more zombies, at least in multiplayer.
Bro that moment when your computer screen turned black had me laughing more than the review. 😂
Its growing on me. I figured out a good skill build and the best weapon modifications and now I'm actually having a blast. Everything is visually pleasing to the eye, I love that the zombies are an actual challenge when it comes to fighting and despute weapins being strong they still need to really pack a punch in order to cut a limb off.
The witty and dark humor is amazing as well and I love that the main MC has a comedy sense of humor that co exsists with the dark edge of an apocalyptic world.
I'm a little annoyed about how fast the main story is but having the side quests drag long after gives it a better and longer feel of the game.
I wouldnt say it beats dying light 2 (because that game is still amazing,) but its exactly what I like about a zombie game. Dense areas with random dead ends that give you a moment of panic that you (need to escape) I live for the jumpscares and the zombies that appear out of nowhere (like the ones that are buried in the sand on Venice beach) I love that theres not an abundance of the mutants but just enough that catch you off guard.
All in all , id give it a 7/10
“I’m Jimmy Montana, I’m not scared of nobody!” “9 SEASONS ON THE FUCKING BADGE!” I love Jimmy! 🕺
If you read the journals it’s actually hilarious peoples jobs still expected them to come to work for a full shift. The mf mailman being forced to carry on his route quest bro.
I was pretty disappointed with the maps. I felt like the first game had a much bigger map and felt more like an open world zombie game. This one feels more like a series of replay-able levels. I bought the game expecting to have 1 huge map of LA with a few smaller ones thrown in. Instead I got about 10 or so smaller maps that require a loading screen to travel between.
I haven't figured out one of the pipe pressure puzzles I just kept turning wheels until the game finally said it was good.
I'm not disappointed in this game, as it's exactly what I expected, but I was hopeful for a bit more. Like you said, if this game came out in 2014, it would've been a certified hood classic, but in 2023, it's game design is outdated. It feels like I'm playing a remake of Dead Island instead of a sequel.
Got the platinum trophy and love DI2. I agree with most of what you said, one thing I would change is the storage in the safe because it needs to hold more than it does.
The storage is mainly to share weapons between characters. Not to just store weapons for later use. You out level weapons so fast that it's pointless to store them unless you are at lvl cap
@@TheOmnomymous all my weapons are level capped. I have a couple multiples of some favorite weapons with different attributes. I’d like to have the option to store others as well, which is why I’d like a larger storage safe/box option.
@DreaddNok why not just change the mods on your weapons. You have storage for 36 weapons and that seems to be enough for all unique and a loadout
Here's a correction about the gore detail, RE2 renake had an extremely detailed gore syste. Where bullets will tear thru their flesh and expose bone, going so far as having zombies be blown in 2 and the top part still alice and crawling at you with their guts spilled out and leaving a blood streak. Even then you can furter mutilate them by leaving them as a stump with no arms. DI 2 if you chop an arm and leg that is enough to kill a zombie
I knew what I was getting and I'm hoping for dlc to expand the fun but otherwise love the game and its nice to see a zombie more motivated by fun and variety than heavy hitting story.
My friend and I just went through the story mode only in the beginning and did no side quests. The final boss was actually hard lol we died often so you saying it was easy and destroyed it in seconds actually surprised me. Maybe we should have done some side quests hahahahah.
The flesh system is what made the brass knuckles my favorite weapon in this game!
I love this game. You can even use water cans to clean everything lol. It eventually comes back. But hey I spent $90 on it so I love it.
Bruh talk about defending your purchase 😂🤣
Great video! I love the electric but i hate how it chains to everything and pretty much kills me everytime
Well that is how electricity works
I can't wait for any expansion for Dead Island. Hopefully, we'll get a Dead Island 2 RIPTIDE. I personally dont play Dead Island 2 for the story, but for its gameplay and mechanics. Its fun.
If there was more legandary weapons and better rewards in the chests those quests would be 100000000x better
Once you get passed the first hour, the game is amazing. Really feels like dead island again, and it's so fun to kill zombies. Which is what a zombie game should be. DI2 and DL2 are both great in their own way. But for zombie killing, dead island takes it by far, it doesn't seem as repetitive as DL2 not even close.
If they could just make it so that the physics based blood effects after you kill a zombie, ACTUALLY stay for longer than 10 seconds on console. Then this would be one of my new favorite games of all time.
That’s what’s ruining it for youc
@@roughpatmusic Yep. All the way.
@@O.LEO.N lame
I platinumed this game a bit too fast but it was an enjoyable platinum that didn’t require you to go too much out of your way. I had a lot of fun with the game and honestly it is the smoothest co op gameplay we have had in such a long time with little to no hiccups during sessions.
I love it tbh just wish it had ng plus
It will in like 2 months
@@TheStraightestWhitest yes they have confirmed it
Great review but I simply can't get over that Danny Devito cutout in your room 😂
I may be completely alone here, but I'm a TOTAL lore nut. I love to learn everything about how people lived in these worlds. Definitely waiting for a sale on this one though, $70 GEEZ!
Not on PC ;)
It's a 7/10 for me.
-Loved Bruno, my personal favorite slayer
-Amazing gore
-Good weapon mods
-Great graphics(expect the mirrors and zombie horde)
-Compelling side characters
-World feels lived in
-Fun side quests(except the Obi one, fuck that quest)
-Good infected variety
-Actually had my heart racing a few times(Something another "serious" zombie game didn’t do)
-Fury mode is brilliant(but a little under utilized, never actually felt like I needed to use it)
-Great soundtrack, but that's just my personal taste
Now for the bad stuff:
-Hated Sam B(seriously, what the fuck did they do to him)
-Way too short for the price
-Not enough zombies filling the world
-Too many separate zones, I play on console so the loading screens take a minute or longer to load which is really fucking annoying
-Skill cards/abilities aren't unique to each slayer, they only have 2 unique cards each which isn't enough
-Characters don't react properly to all slayers, they should have different dialog in certain situations, doesn't have to all be unique for each slayer, but there should be some variety
-Repetative Puzzles
-No difficulty options, I personally found the game way too easy
-Adding an effect to a weapon makes certain zombies COMPLETELY immune to that weapon
-Certain weapon mods look absolutely horrendous, specifically when adding a sharp or bleeding mod to a blade
-Audio bugs, I don't know if it happens on PC, but on console the characters often sound like they're talking in a metal box
-Teleporting enemies, didn’t happen a lot, but still enough to be annoying
There's probably a few more pros and cons, but this is what's in my brain right now.
Definitely agree with the you on the weapon effects. Just because the enemy is immune to fire doesn't mean they aren't getting hit with a blade. They should've just made them immune to the debuff and make the weapon deal reduced damage. Encourages you to have variety but doesn't mean you're fucked if you're trying to heal and you accidentally heavy attack a hazmat walker with a caustic sledgehammer (I'm still salty about that one, I was about to beat the final boss. Autophage Tier 3 is a tempting but cruel mistress.)
This game keeps having this one bug where you're in block mode until you change your gun, If you don't change then you can't shoot or actually block the zombies even though your hands are blockin.
I agree with most of your points but I did like the soundtrack a ton tbh.
Would love a DLC where you can play as the old characters from dead island 1 and they have their own skill cards to unlock.
Thank god he also noticed no reflections other than your flashlight. I thought only I noticed it📈✅💯
I hope in the dlc they add more ways to creatively kill zombos and bring back vehicles with the insane amount of jerry cans found all around
My only real complaint, is I wish they at least brought Sam B’s original voice actor back. Solid game though, hope for a nice sized dlc soon

May I ask you how much time (plus editing) you put into the video? The quality is impressive :)
@@takeyourtime3328 Typically ranges from 10-20 hours each video including script writing, filming, and editing. This edit took me around 10 hours yesterday to do lol
Jo you think there will be a Dlc for Dead island 2
Sir I really wanted to hate you but my comments statistics on this channel has a bit of a count that you can't say I hate you lol.
Anyway thanks for taking time making the Dead Island 2 reviews even the game seems not so loved by most of your community 😂
And stop hating Amy please. Her cringey is only because she is so innocent. That's something I considered cute from her. Makes me want to protect her. I found innocent people are rare now.
I love Dani though but overall I like all Dead Island franchise playable characters.
Never played the first one or Riptide but I absolutely enjoyed this one. Got every trophy except the level 30 trophy because it bugged for me once I reached it, so the devs need to patch this asap. Other than that, it’s a solid 8/10.
With holding heavy attack if you aim at different areas it changes like with hammer at low either knocks them flying or smashing their stomach
I'm still enjoying my First playthrough and free roaming after I've done all the quests and got all 45 achievements. Gotta say still having fun as i did day 1 with the game and its been therapeutic for my anxiety and stress
If you think about it it makes sense, all the electric cars, there’s no other use for the jerry cans.
I liked the old fury mode better where it was Unique to every character and special abilities like boomerang or bladed weapon enhancement from the first game IDK it just seems like it doesnt matter that much which character u use
It’s only two things this game needs and that’s ng+ and more room in your storage locker and I’m gd 🙏🏽
FYI: i just made it to Hollywood Boulevard and not once in the game do i think i have picked up a Jerry can (neither water nor acid) other then by mistake thinking it was loot. And yes im a completionist/explorer so i have collected every lockbox, used every fuse and played every side/lost and found mission i have been able to do so far. I think the Jerry can issue is just you my guy, if theres fire or acid on the ground i just use a chem bomb. Don't remember the game requiring me to use Jerry cans a single time. Will still agree with you on the fact that the puzzle stuff while easy, can get repetitive though
I love both dead island 2 and dying light 2. I don’t like that they are at odds. I play both and hope they both do amazing enough to get more sequels
U rlly are a true fan
YOU SHOULD DO A IRL PARKOUR SERIES
This game is just awesome. My first game I completed on Platin & I still enjoy - 90hrs playtime in. This is for me a Game of the year! So excited about DLCs ✌🏾
💯
Im absolutely having a blast with the game playing as Ryan. Im probably going for the platinum
For me this game is crazy fun, the gore system does it for me, i plan to play all characters because i had so much fun with the game. Being about to experiment with weapons and see how op i can make a weapon. I tried playing dying light, but the parkour ruined it for me. All i wanted was to smash zombies and see the damage, i got it here. Wish it had a longer story but im still happy to explore the map.
When I see a first person zombie game I think about dying light and dead rising then I start comparing and start wondering why no dev has thought to combine dying light and dead rising elements together
I think a new game+ is needed soon, something similar to Borderlands franchise, cap the first playthrough at level 30 and the new playthrough at like 50-60 but have mods/blueprints with higher crafting costs and weapons specifically made for higher levels like not dropping anything less than purple weapons with a certain amount of mods so nothing to weak gets given, increase the carry limit of weapons and resources along with how much gets dropped by a single enemy. Also adding the option to replay any mission is a must, idk why it was overlooked
As my first ever Zombie game, I had a blast. Played it on PS5 and later on PC. I'm playing the first one now and then dying light series.
I got DI2 yesterday and I like it. So far, DL2 had me way more enticed and having a lot more fun. I don't dislike DI at all, my problem was DL made the thing I always wanted. That stuff aside though, it is a good and solid game, especially if you don't like Dying Light. I've noticed some pretty neat details so far though. I splattered a zombie next to a leather couch and the blood started dripping and running off the side. Walked on a pile of corpse n gore and saw blood was squishing out around the edge of the mess, eventually disappeared and the more I did it, the less would press out after multiple times of playing with that mechanic. I'm only just after fighting the bride so I'm not far in but I'm paying attention to as much stuff as I can think to do. It's got an impressive amount of detail from what's been seen so far.
Oni forgot to put his logo on the top left on the thumbnail lol
For me, For The Ending. You Should of Aloud to play on and run straight into the big horde, taking them on all for the build up of you being overpowered. Then eventually dying to the infection or something bad ass as go fight the big horde to save Tisha and finally the credits [idk if someone else got this but i got no music] The Music for the credits would be cool if they'd Play "Who do you Vodoo?". That would of been better that the ending we got xd.
I love the game I do agree the story is lacking and can be repetitive some times but the game is incredible I haven’t had one bad time in it. Playing with friends and doing the side quest are some of the best times I’ve experienced in a game in a while. The one thing I have an issue with is the boss battles it seemed like all the fights were just to upgrade the zombies so that u can now fight them into the open world.
I bought the ps4/ps5 edition of Dead Island 2 and I'm satisfied with my purchase. It runs surprisingly well on the ps4 pro and I haven't had any major bugs so far. I did find the lack of a reflection in the mirror to be jarring, but it didn't impact gameplay. I just wish the LA Zoo was a location in the game, because the first Dead Island alluded to infected orangutans causing chaos in the jungle area and the players never actually encounter them (I just thought that it was a missed opportunity).
Here we go!
Would've been cool if you could upgrade the skill cards or combine them together to make hybrid skills
I just want a survival/areana mode
The entire game is a survival/arena mode what the fuck are you talking about
for the mirror reflections, there are no real time player reflections as i believe they are using cubemaps or a similar method which is not super demanding. to achieve real time player and/or environment reflections, you would need raytracing or another more demanding method which yknow isn't rly accessible to a lot of players!
I didn't like that there is no mirror reflection
The storage is kinda small especially when it’s shared between characters
I absolutely loved Dead Island 2. The loot improvement rate was perfect for me. It kept things interesting by gradually improving the loot but not frustratingly slow, making it satisfying everytime you start getting a new tier. The one major issue for me is the fact that they locked all but just a couple of the legendary weapons for the entirety of the campaign… so you can’t get them until you have no reason to get them….
I didn’t have any problems with this game, more fact that I love a real good zombie game and I’m still playing this game and still haven’t completed the story yet bc I like looting up and getting good shit then slowly go through the story with good shit. And being careful I don’t look good boxes with loot inside of them. It’s a shame tho u can’t re loot certain containers or boxes again wish u could and definitely need more inventory space I think the storage and inventory space is basically a must in this u need way more for keep ur best stuff. But other than that I love this game a lot and have no problems with it I don’t feel like it’s competitive at all or that certain things could of been better but only 2 that I mention but it’s a solid 8/10 for me and I see this game to be one of the most underrated games of the year. Bc u can literally enjoy this game and chill while playing it or with mates so it’s a must to buy if u want some good chill fun 👌🏽
Just finished the main story tonight and was about 22 hours in. Think I’d done around 7 side quests? Gonna wrap up my first playthrough by finishing all the side quests and lost and found stuff. Then I’ll probs go again with another character. Went with Jacob first, and end game is just fantastic with a good build tho.
Like DL2 and most AAA games, especially epic exclusives, I assume it'll take a year+ before it's worth buying and playing. Think the first perfect-on-release game I've played ina long time was RE4R.
The game needs an update. It also needs a "slayer home" place were you can rest. Hang up weapons. Do other shit. Also new kill animations
I just finished it yesterday, Imy biggest complaint is there is no difficulty settings, I was raging so hard yesterday cos I'd get stuck on missions and it'd reset me back too checkpoints but my weapons would break overtime. The game was unnecessarily hard. Fury mods would have been perfect for Dying light 2 aswell.
I just hope that this is a staple game and just not another title, I want expansions, DLCs, heck maybe some game modes like resident Evil. This game has so much potential and I wish the best of luck to it!
I'm enjoying it quite a bit! Zombie stories are pretty hard to keep fresh (pun intended) but the story beats in DI2 are pretty fun with the numen addition. Side quests are fun, weapons feel weighty in a good way and the visuals and environmental story telling are amazing. So they did what they set out to do and made a pulp zombie game with the main focus being the zombies. The only thing I found strange was the abrupt end, but I know dlc is coming so I just shrugged that off because it felt pulpy to me too. I just hope we see the past survivors again even if it's just a photo. I wonder how they would look now.
The biggest problem for me is the lack of impact in the combat. It's like you're hitting butter with a foam tube or something. No reaction at all from the zombies most of the time and zero crunchy hit feeling. What good is their amazing gore system when your hits have no impact at all?
I thought the final boss was a nice challenge, but I didn't do every single side quest along the way, so I wasn't super overpowered
They reused an enemy added more health, a custom arena and called it a final boss. Very dissapointing.
@Klemenix that is what on most games have
Idk how much digging u did into the characters, but there’s actually A lot of differences/build variations with them, each character gets a different loot pool based on what it’s Specialty’s are as well as certain card ability’s that other characters don’t get, I have several I’ve done testing on and they All have different loot pools in most of the Playthrough!
I really enjoyed The game. I was in a gaming slump for a while. I just build my first ever pc after religiously console gaming my whole life annnnd I just had no desire to play. Until dead island 2 came out. It reignited my passion for gaming and everything I loved about a game was in this one. I hope there’s more dlc and games coming soon.
Just wish we had free roam. Could go in every place. Its 9/10 when it comes to a life like zombie apocalypse. I wish we had a character creation option that be awesome. Maybe bring in the other immune from dead island as side quests, who can give you crazy weapons.
Sometimes the districts feel empty. Like where are all the zombies in this ZOMBIE GAME
Haven't watched the vid but been really enjoying this game. And I can hope and say is that there better be some good dlc content and updates coming. This game has all the potential to be the number one ZOMBIE game of all time no joke. A few tweaks for more exocute animations, a revised and more affective skill deck, better zombie spawns and despawning, more area... This game really does just need small touch ups to become a damn near perfect zombie killer fantasy and is already doing better in its first week or so compared to its most recent competitor in dying light 2 (I've played tf out of dying light 1 and 2 just for context)
Early maps are Great! But the rest lack the size and detail of the early ones. Game ends way too quick then you’re just left with side missions.
Just wanted to point out there more than one animation 1 for torso and one for the head for each weapon plus counter so there a decent variety just gotta know how to use it and they could use limb animations
Does dying light two have a horde gameplay separate from the story or a button you press or somehow initiate the process of zombies being hungry for you and ruthless amounts of them and their elements or throwing objects or knives etc. I need to message dambuster about having it in dead island.
I have two days of total play time and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
Playing Dead Island 2 reminds me often how spoiled I am by the Dying Light franchise. I'm about 35% in the story and for the last days I'm hanging out on Venice beach. It's my favourite place in the game as of now. And I doubt it will be topped. Today I found out that the police station at the beach is almost a good place for farming. When you go in the main office and there are the three windows, when zombies see you they come. I got a long weapon to stab through the window. Zeds can hit you too but not too easy. There was a screamer lady that kept zombies coming. Also a few thugs. Later on I went out and there was a lot to pick up. Amongst 3-4 weapons. Besides there are weapons in the locker room the semi automatic shotgun, which is very good, respawns now and then. Plus I accidentally beat up a zombie on the beach that had the keys tho the safety box. And one more thing. The tower close to the army camp has a workbench in it. Which I use to fix weapons and to make bullets.
I have a USI kind of SMG where I put acid bullets in. That was a very satisfying to melt zeds away.
