Nice video guys! To Doug; pre-load your ollies by moving slightly toward your nose first, then snap/pop off your tail. Pre-loading helps you land less tail heavy and keeps you level out and land more evenly/naturally. Happy shredding!
Sapient PnB1, true twin 160cm. Its park oriented but also big and wide enough I get away with using it in the powder. I love the true twin shape (identical front and back) as it makes learning switch tricks much easier IMO. However Sapient no longer exists, so you cant get this one unless you find it somewhere.
Never thought about actually ollieing on my board, i usually just jumped, im excited to practice this. ive just started doing jumps after a long time of boarding, im self employed so i make damn sure to not skip any steps in learning new stuff, cuz if i hurt myself im screwed. Thanks
Awesome vid. It's a great perspective to see you giving your mates advice and helping them improve with feedback during each run. I picked up a few tips during it. Would like to see more vids like this.
Really enjoying your new videos, I was a former snowboarder and I just haven't had the time to go in the recent years, I might go this year just because of your channel! Thanks for the awesome content.
This was a really cool and great video guys. You made it simple to understand and the slow and easy progression of start to completion was great. I am an advanced rider with a beginner ride style to tricks and am always wanting to push myself to do simple and yet cool tricks. This video made it easy for me to get the courage to go out there and go for it! I'll be trying them out this season for sure! Thank you
that's about exactly where I'm at too. I've been riding for 15+ years but have never really pushed myself to learn any park riding... it's been super cool learning & getting that progression going again!
Great Video, it's nice to see someone less advanced than progress. It's nice watching you Kevin but you do make everything look super easy :) Please try and do a few more videos like this. Keep up the great work, best snowboarding channel by far!
Great Video I started Snowboarding last year and with these videos it's helped me alot to keep up with the good and impressive riders thank you and please keep more vids coming
how many degrees do you set up your board, what's the best for tricks(mainly switches), and how does the degree affect your ride? I know that they make it easier it for skating and your dominant foot, but besides that I don't know anything. Could you also talk a bit about what the length of your board does?
Can please make a detailed video on speed check.. I'm gaining to much speed before jumps and I'm just pussing out... I'd like to have more control hitting the lip.. Thanks..
Bruce Lee Too much speed is always better than not enough speed, better to clear the knuckle and landing flat than to slam the knuck and hurt your back.
Thanks maybe I asked for a wrong video.. But it looks like riders speed check before hitting all kinds of jumps, boxes, rails etc.... I ride regular.. I'm trying to learn to control speed before jumps and regular riding..?? Anyone?? Thanks
Hi Kevin, Thank you for sharing these tips on improving riding! Your channel is what essentially kickstarted my wanting to progress to the next level. I do have a question about prewinding for a spin, could you may be the explain a bit more about how/when to prewind for a spin? For example, I usually find myself confused a bit on when to leverage my toe to heel momentum for a f360 spin. I think I want to prewind a bit when I'm on toe edge because prewind during heel edge is a bit too late. And during flatbase makes me counterrotate myself. Any tips is appreciated! Happy holidays!
Those guys are way more comfortable than me on the board - I gotta practice more! Also, the snow there seems so good! Here it's too often icy, making it tougher to find the courage to practice new trick, since you fall more and it hurts more :(
Hey! I just had my first official day of snowboarding a couple days ago. I didn't do so well...lots of falling, catching my toe edge, and not being able to stop or turn to control my speed. I've watched all the videos and mentally understand the process, but I'm feeling a little down. Do you think you could do a video about how to keep pushing forward with learning to snowboard after you feel like you've failed?
Your audio on these lifts is absolutely stellar. How do you do it? What equipment are you using? I'd love to see a video about the recording gear you guys use: the GoPro is obvious but a lot of people might not notice how incredibly clean the audio is, on a really windy mountain. I can hear your voices as clear as riders on the ground below the lift, but I don't hear any wind. Is that just the GoPro itself?
dope vid! My first real trick was an Indy grab and I got it on my first try last year thanks to a lot of your tips! Im gonna try and make my goal to master 180/360s and switch as best I can by the end of this season. Can't wait and ur awesome vids will definitely speed up the process! :)
hey... I have a question... if I were to switch easily, should I set up my binding perpendicular to the deck?? or since I'm not a goofy type, should I put my left binding little bit towards the nose of the deck?? I need to learn how to switch... but I need some experts thoughts on how I need to set up my binding...
Take off jump from side of rail (any side) and look at the end of the rail while popping a small ollie towards the end of the rail, then catch the rail with your heels, and you will complete it to the end.
I'm curious how Doug likes those goggles. I just got a pair of those on sale and I was worried they wouldn't get dark enough. Which doesn't look like the case. I'd love to see a review on the transitions lenses.
I have a habit of doing toe edge and heel edge when turning on a box or anything else. I'm so used to turning that way, it's hard to keep my board flat. It's almost like instinct. Got any advice?
Don’t ride onto the box going too slow, that will only make it more difficult. Watch the speed others hit it with and emulate that. Going too slow and you run the real risk of getting stuck and the lack of forward inertia actually makes it harder to balance.
IndiGoo for a beginner those should be fine, even for upper level people, boots are really based on stiffness and the construction, as long as your comfortable your golden, hope you have fun!
Nice video guys! To Doug; pre-load your ollies by moving slightly toward your nose first, then snap/pop off your tail. Pre-loading helps you land less tail heavy and keeps you level out and land more evenly/naturally. Happy shredding!
Michael Kim thanks for the tip! I'll give it a shot next time I'm out!
Holy crap. Chris was my dive instructor in Honduras
William Deem - how's it going. Small world huh? Great to see you on here
Chris Eyres - hey man I see you riding your about my size it seems. can I get specs on your board and set up
Sapient PnB1, true twin 160cm. Its park oriented but also big and wide enough I get away with using it in the powder. Scuba or sky?
Michael Phillips Muff 🤪
1:15 Kevin is crushed.
I really like when Doug explains what he does and that really helps if you do any of the same wrong stuff

It's cool seeing you guys focus on basic stuff like this, just goes to show I can always improve on simple things like ollieing side-hits

Never thought about actually ollieing on my board, i usually just jumped, im excited to practice this. ive just started doing jumps after a long time of boarding, im self employed so i make damn sure to not skip any steps in learning new stuff, cuz if i hurt myself im screwed. Thanks

I love sound in the snow when you slowly slide in the snow on your snowboard :)
Great Video, it's nice to see someone less advanced than progress. It's nice watching you Kevin but you do make everything look super easy :) Please try and do a few more videos like this. Keep up the great work, best snowboarding channel by far!

"It's not how fast you're going, it's the direction that counts"
+Emanuel Gamboa Such wise words!
Emanuel Gamboa I read it in a motivational book I found in my bathroom
Emanuel Gamboa no not really I practiced a ton on carpet, and I still haven't gotten the nerve up to try rails
Can please make a detailed video on speed check..

Bruce Lee Too much speed is always better than not enough speed, better to clear the knuckle and landing flat than to slam the knuck and hurt your back.
Not the answer I'm looking for.. Thanks tho..
Bruce Lee Ik, just informing you 😂

I ride regular.. I'm trying to learn to control speed before jumps and regular riding..??

Hey Kevin! Those videos really help! Could you make one on a little more advanced tricks please.
Absolutely in love with your videos, keep it up

I went to whistler the other day as well! I can never seem to land a backside 180 off a small ramp/jumps, any suggestions on how to improve?
Awesome video! I love the daily upload! Keep up the good work!
I like doug, he is so relatable

와주 15 - 15 is pretty mellow or maybe even less than that like 11 -11
Ive crashed too many times doing rails and bombing trails that I am too scared to try them now

Can you make a video of your top 5 tricks or top 5 expert tricks uk
What board is it that has a neon bottom? Is that a custom one? @3:34 His board kinda of glows red/pink neon into the snow...
Sapient PnB1, the company no longer exists so you will have to find another

I know this is different for every person but just out of curiosity, what angles do you have your bindings set at?

awesome vid, I'm excited to try these next week
Can you please make a video how to do the toe turn? Would be awesome!
I'm curious how Doug likes those goggles. I just got a pair of those on sale and I was worried they wouldn't get dark enough. Which doesn't look like the case. I'd love to see a review on the transitions lenses.
Nice goggle by the way. I wanna buy that one soon.
Snowboarding in North Conway New Hampshire in the morning 🤙🏼
Really good video!! Congrats Kev 👍🏼
Make more progression videos, satisfying and entertaining to look at for some reason 🙂😃
