I would also like to tell you that adoption is not permissible in Islam; therefore, you cannot perform istiqarah on it. However, looking after an orphan is allowed and even encouraged as reported in this Hadith: Sahl bin Sa'd (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
*Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "I will be like this in Jannah with the person who takes care of an orphan". Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his forefinger and middle finger by way of illustration.*

This was much needed. My sister was getting anxious almost to the point of being depressed 😔 about who would marry her. In our society there are mostly arranged marriages and the man's side(his mother and sisters) mostly if not always demand a fair coloured girl. But anything below fair is unacceptable.
I have found that when you really do put trust in ALLAH.. and leave the evil and prohibited things for only HIS sake.. then ALLAH really does give you something much better.. but the main thing is you have to sincere from heart with ALLAH first

Im divorced 5 yrs ago, and still want a good marriage to a good spouse and a good father for my daughter. Everything he said is right but I do think love should be considered too, you should love them and feel peaceful with them. God didn’t just give us feelings and hearts for no reasons, we’re not robots we should feel love, attraction and everything beautiful with them.

I absolutely support this message. However, as a Muslim psychotherapist, I'd like to add one thing that's (at least in my humble opinion) quite important. "Drama" may stem from a lot of things - those could be traumas, family issues, attachment problems, difficulties with mental and/or physical health and so, so much more. Sometimes you notice that behind maladaptative behaviours there is a good heart that just needs support and guidance. Of course, it's not up to the other person to heal the second one - this is where the specialist may take from and I sincerely wish there was less stigma surrounding psychoterapy these days (it also applies to relationship counselling!). I'd also like to add that I believe love and peace are complimentary in mature relationships - love can take so, so many shapes, forms and colours after all. What I usually say to my clients (especially to women, who are often encouraged to lower their just expectations), is that there is nothing 'needy'/'problematic' about expecting to be loved, honoured and listened to in a relationship (which, needless to say, works both ways). So, for all persons who are struggling and worrying about their future spouses - may Allah SWT bless you all and remember you're worthy of love, peace, respect and positive attention.

This video came up on my feed whilst i am facing severe trials with someone who i am meant to get engaged to. At 36 i am running out of hope but this video has reminded me of tawakul! And i also look at the trials our brothers and sisters in palsstine are going through! Who are we to complain?!
What I don't like about a lot of our imams/preachers is the toxic positivity. "You don't have a reason to worry, so don't... you have a perfect life..."
Like, if you tell yourself not to notice your circumstances or emotions, it won't make them disappear. You have to take them into consideration. Like "Yes, I feel worried about my future and if I am it means I have good reasons for it. But, I also have to be patient and respectful towards what Allah has decided for me. I will do what depends on me, the rest is on Allah's will. In the end however our life will be the only thing that matters is if we lived it as believing Muslims."
