As a former certified nursing assistant, my favorite is Honey thickened cranberry juice. Yep, certain people who have swallowing issues require a thickening agent. People are often evaluated by a specialist who can evaluate and recommend it. Usually you're not allowed to add the thickener to a residents liquids unless you have or get a Dr.s order. The thickening agent removed some of the cranberries bite. Mellowed it out. You can buy this at any drug store and grocery stores too.
