I'm in the last phases (knock on wood) of recuperating from cervical disc herniation, and your videos have been a lifesaver (-:

Thanks for making this video, it’s very helpful! I have full range of motion in my neck but recently when I move my neck, it results in pain in my shoulder. Do you know why is this happening and do I need to see someone? Thank you!

so for all of them I feel them all not in the neck but either on the edges of my scapulas or with looking up across my back but mostly between my Scapulas. Is that normal when you are fused from C2 all the way down the spine to an including the SI. I think my head is about 7 cm form the wall and my upper shoulders done touch. It is from Ankylosing Spondylitis. sometimes I wonder if improvement can be made or its like trying to get a broompole to bend.

I'd raise your phone up about 9". In my younger days, before computers, I was a draftsperson. My neck was so strained at times I'd have to wear a neck brace for 3 days. Of course, dumb me didn't realize it was my drawing but I eventually figured it out.

@@nancyfahey7518 im not one of these people who tilt the phone and therefore the neck isnt affected because of that...
Great that you got rid of the pain

I think I have tech neck. Been through phy therapy and currently on some mild pain meds. My question is how far do I go into the pain when I'm exercising my neck? Do I stop at the first glint of pain? Go to moderate pain then stop? Should I try to eventually work through the pain to get full motion back? Currently I just go to the edge of the pain and only occasionally go into the pain. Thank you!

In most cases, we recommend going up to the initiation of pain and stopping there. Pushing a little into the pain is okay as long as your symptoms aren’t flared up after the exercise session.

@@JimNicholsMotorManiaGarage Glad to hear things are improving! Thank you for considering getting my book. It’s much more comprehensive than my UA-cam videos and has programs for the entire body, so I think you would find it to be a valuable resource.
