Love your reviews Ron! This is a great beer for the price and for what it is. To me, it's got good taste, it's smooth, and it's extremely drinkable. My grandfather and his wife used to drink only PBR and nothing but. It's an all around classic and great brew.
I always have a 12-pack of cheap, "American style lager" in my fridge ... it's the ideal, "come home from work and have a brew" beer. PBR is probably my favorite of this class of beer that I cycle through my fridge ... I've noticed that it keeps it head longer than other beers in the same class/price point which is a big plus with me.
Pabts Blue Ribbon has always been one of my favorite beers...It certainly has a unique taste to it, which I haven't tasted in any of the other American Adjunct Lagers. Nice review guys ..I always enjoy your beer reviews, when I'm having a few. Cheers!
Well, I picked up some PBR and was watching some of your PBR reviews, which btw are excellent. Anyway It’s been about 10 yrs. or so since I drank it and I was curious if it still tasted the same and I wasn’t disappointed. It still has that classic beer taste! I’m glad I picked it up because, it will be my go to beer when I’m not drinking Wernesgruner. PBR is by far the better of the American adjunct lagers out there followed by Hamm’s. Great duo review Ron!!
In addition to reviewing these beverages, you always provide a depth of knowledge that I appreciate. referencing a 1980 National Geographic interview is that touch of class that keeps me coming back to your content. Any thoughts on the "European hops" they use? I remember hearing they were from somewhere unique, but I can't find specifics about it.
Thanks, StandbyCymbalist. I appreciate you watching. No, I have no information on which European hops they are using. I would assume that it's probably a noble hop blend.
Great beer! I give it a solid “A” I especially like the hops on the back end. And your right the yeast makes this beer, it’s different, it does have kind of a wine taste
I saw it for the first time on tap when I took a trip to Corpus Christi Tx at Buffalo Wild Wings and I try it. The fact that it was iced cold gave it richer flavor, and it was better than can .
PBR LIVES ON I bought a 12 pack of bottles here last-night And they were delicious as always! One of the top Americn adjunct Lagers on Planet Earth Jay ! I love your reviews as one of your very first longtime subs here. I just still don't prefer the duo reviews with this particular individual but I feel as a faithful original sub and supporter/ super fan of your channel that Honesty is and from a respectful viewers standpoint will always be the best policy.Have a great day and Cheers!
Do you know what brewery codes 4 and 7 are? I'm from TN and we get from brewery 7. I went out to Colorado this summer and got some from brewery 4 and it was a completely different taste. I did not like it. Just curious as to where they came from.
Ronald I don't care what anybody says I think your the best beer reviewer on u tube.idk you bring a wine sophisticated personality to to the blue collar beer world cheers 🍺 🍺
Great Review!! Good Beer!! Now that would make a great video if possible,Draft, bottle, can!! I do agree Draft for sure tastes different I have always found draft to be better in most cases!! Enjoyed
Only just saw this in my local supermarket in UK. Picked it up only to find it is unfortunately brewed here under licence, also it is 4.6% here but I still enjoyed it.. I wish we had the selection of lagers you guys get in the States, also the ice beers look really good but to my knowledge we don't get those here which is a shame.
Yes, ours is 4.8% alcohol. I'm glad you liked it, and I hope you someday get to try the authentic one. Thanks for watching, Kai93_sho. I appreciate it!
I like good ol' PBR too guys. I have noticed in the past when I drank Budweiser on tap it tasted different than Budweiser from a can or a bottle.I think it tasted better. The same with PBR.
I just bought myself a 6 pack of Pabst this week and haven’t had this beer in a couple years. To me it tastes different for some reason. Do you know if something changed? Or maybe it’s just me. Cheers Ron
Lovely stuff, pbr. Ive tasted differences from different containers, at times, and i actually prefer macro lagers in cans, esoecially bud. Cheers, guys
take away from this great review is that the same beer in Cans vs Bottle vs Tap can all taste different. most beers off the tap taste taste great and then they lose something thru the processing bottling/canning process.I remember Schmidts beer in college from PA was great off the tap but in the bottles was sludge water.
Yes, canned or bottled beers are definitely inferior, but are an acceptable substitute for the superior draft beer. My father despised canned or bottled Budweiser, but he loved draft Budweiser.
PBR recently showed up at my houston area costco. always exploring different brands i thought i would revisit. it may be 50 or more years since i last had one. $19.99 for a case of cans is a great price. it's light but good and better a tad colder. on my next visit i was surprised to find they dropped the price to $12.97. i scored 15 cases.
We had 3 Pabst Handgrenades for a 1.25 on Wed in my Mom's Bar in Wisconsin in the '70s & 80's. We used to have a Beer Truck left at the bar for Wed Nights filled with cases of 7oz shorties. Now we own the same Bar and Drinking sure has Changed. "PBR" is the only Beer.
picked this particular video to comment on because my source is from a can also. very light, medium thin, but a tad refreshing. paid $1.84 for the 32 oz can. by the way, thanks for accepting my friend request on facebook the other day (david simmons) and thanks for the video

that is definitely true i have had some beers that have been sitting in cans for quite sometime and they can down right awful. beers probably do age better in bottles than in cans
Hi Jay, Definitely like PBR, but Still prefer Schlitz, High Life and Hamms . Overall, America's beer landscape is truly amazing in terms of the wide choice of popular-priced beers!
Ron! Im a subscriber and love your genuine reviews…but I noticed whenever you do a review at this location… the clock is always at 1:30… just replace the batteries because I’ve seen many videos where that clock is dead 😂😅
In the UK, I recently picked up a 6 pack of 330ml PBR reduced to £3 from the usual price of £6 as the packaging was damaged. This put it more in line with the U.S. price point which I think is fair for what it is. You can get much better German lagers but they will be at least twice the price.
Hi, picked up three 660 bottles of this down at my local supermarket in the UK for £5, which is just over $6 to you. Trying this as I am watching your review. I find it a nice, very light, very easy drinking beer, not over burdened with hops but still leaving a pleasant aftertaste behind. Like I said, good easy drinking session beer. Great review and will be looking in on you again.
Well, we don't get that bottle size, here, but I think that is a good price. Also, your Pabst Blue Ribbon version is slightly different that the USA version.
alun hughes you basically bought them for a dollar a beer in US standard 12oz size. Which is not bad at all considering it’s an important beer for you. In America we get it for around 60-70 cents a 12oz can. In the same way you probably get Guinness for a lot cheaper than we do.
So THAT’s how you pronounce his last name 😅 been wondering this for awhile. Anyways, I enjoyed the review, PBR ranks up there as on of my favorite AAL’s, for the price point, taste and drinkablility, it’s pretty damn good
You know...I just drink a PBR, and now I'm drinking a milwaukee's best premium, and I think I like the milwaukee's best premium better. I think it's smoother and doesn't have that little bit of funky flavor you were talking about. Cheers 🍻

Pabst is one of my favorite ordinary beers, and at $5.50 for a six pack of tall boys, you can't beat it. Not a beer I have at night but its great as my first beer of the day, usually before dinner or sucking back on the deck when grilling or whatever. I like it, always have. Someone mentioned to me that PBR has a "meaty" quality to me and I couldn't that out of my head once I drank it again. So I stopped buying them at bars for a few years, but I think I've gotten over it
@@ronaldtheriot Had it on draft today at Applebees of all places. It was $3 for a really tall glass. Not sure how big it was but maybe it was 24 oz. Great deal.
The weird thing about this beer is i like the beer but if i have more than one it gives me a headache. It's the only beer that tends to give me a headache and I'm not sure why. I would give it a B. First beer I ever had when i was 15.
Yeah I have had a lot of beers in my life but PBR for whatever reason my brain doesn't accept a lot of it. Perhaps it's just how they specifically brew it i'm not sure. I'm not complaining, i will drink it if it's available.
Pabst is a beer you grow to love, its unique in flavor & you can easily come to love it for the price. Though I totally agree with the notion that it did at first taste off & dirty. Not a go to if u have options, I'm drinking michelob ultra

@@ronaldtheriot Had it on draft today at Applebees of all places. It was $3 for a really tall glass. Not sure how big it was but maybe it was 24 oz. Great deal.
@@Chaz4543 That IS a great deal! Yum-E!
Nobody reviews Pabst Blue Ribbon quite like Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet lol
Yes, he gave a unique presentation for it, ha-ha.
It is a very sweet beer.
I don't find it to be particularly sweet..
The weird thing about this beer is i like the beer but if i have more than one it gives me a headache. It's the only beer that tends to give me a headache and I'm not sure why. I would give it a B. First beer I ever had when i was 15.
I have talked to oh so many people who have told me about beers giving them a headache.
Yeah I have had a lot of beers in my life but PBR for whatever reason my brain doesn't accept a lot of it. Perhaps it's just how they specifically brew it i'm not sure. I'm not complaining, i will drink it if it's available.
Might be the yeast
I can’t drink Budweiser because bud does that to me
I'm drinking it now, it does have a white wine after taste.
Yes, and it's strange, how that Carlsberger yeast can do that. Thanks for watching, VALLCOTV. I appreciate it!
@@ronaldtheriot Of course. Been watching your videos for a minute now I'll have to come down to Louisiana and pour up one of these days.
Btw you have a legendary beard😁
Thanks, and I appreciate you watching, brownpunk!
I got a 6 pack 160z cans today for 5.99!
I think that's an okay price.
This and rolling rock best beers in the world.
In the world? Thanks for watching, cErAmiKxxx. I appreciate it.
I agree they're the best cheap beers!
Might try a pack today of this
Good idea! Thanks for watching, Joseph Romero. I appreciate it!
@@ronaldtheriot welp, brought a 12 pack. Not a bad beer but can taste the classic in it
@@josephromero9653 Excellent!
The only things that will fuck with the taste if you are pouring is exposure to light and heat.
Light and heat are the enemies of canned or bottled beers.
COORS LIGHT? I always think "WTF? Coors is ALREADY a light beer!"
Yeah, it's pretty light. Thanks for watching, William Burke. I appreciate it!
Sorry about that my phone kind of messes up on me a little bit
It's okay.
Pabst taste like Budweiser should. if it was made properly.
To me, they're both nice.
This beer is for when your slumming it.
I like pbr its ok but around here its 15 a12 pack good one...............................CHEERS
That's way too expensive! Cheers, back to you, Tim!
in Canada its 4.9 % alcohol
It's odd, how the abv will differ, country to country. Hey, thanks for watching, jacob Thompson. I appreciate it!
I drink the 5.9 % dark pabst.....
I'm with Ronnie - it does have a dry wine quality..
Yes, I think so, Joe.
I agree beer is better from a bottle
I don't know why, but I prefer bottled beer. Thanks for watching, The cooler guy. I appreciate it!
New supporter here
Thanks, and I appreciate you watching, Lisa Mc Namee!
PBR is America
Some would also say that.
Coke in a glass taste better then when it's in a can. Same with beer. Glass bottles all day.
I've never noticed much of a difference, myself. Thanks for watching, bluntXsmoke bluntXsmoke. I appreciate it!
@@ronaldtheriotno problem. I like the videos and the good vibes keep them coming
Pabst is a beer you grow to love, its unique in flavor & you can easily come to love it for the price. Though I totally agree with the notion that it did at first taste off & dirty. Not a go to if u have options, I'm drinking michelob ultra
Ah, Michelob Ultra. Every tried the Ultra Amber? Thanks for watching, Zano. I appreciate it!
Nope, you should do the ultra with ya boi
My new goto beer since Anhueser Bush went woke.
Right. Good option. Thanks for watching, Price Action Sucks. I appreciate it!
epic marketing blunder
I'm a big fan of PBR, but I'm worried about it's future. Cheers, to you both!
Yeah, I have the same ominous feeling about it, too, Guy. Cheers, back to you!
@Ronald "Jay" Theriot - I am not. It is one of the top selling beers 🍻 in the country so.
PBR is terrible. Never had a worse hangover from any beer than that shit.
I enjoy Pabst Blue Ribbon. Thanks for watching, DT. I appreciate it!
@@ronaldtheriot I absolutely love your reviews it's just that PBR gives me nightmares.
Bad pour, you got to lye that glass down when you pour, save some bubbles man
No, you want to pour it, straight in. Brewers recommend the straight-in pour.
